  • Welcome back! I modded the exhaust on my 996. I had my factory mufflers modded in the Fister D mod style and just for fun I put on muffler bypasses.. Thanks for watching and check out my Instagram

    I have the same mod on my car. Along with the air box resonator delete that I know you also have, the car just howls at high rpm, like the 996 GT3 RS race cars of old - though not nearly as loud. In fact, nobody would say it is a particularly loud exhaust. Especially with the windows up my wife and I can have a romantic cruise without excessive noise intrusion. Of course I do not stand on it when she is in the car. Now where was I - oh yeah, it is a great great sounding exhaust. I did a recent road trip with a friend and his 73 911S and he was really impressed…he said it sounded way better than his former 991…more raw, more old school, more vintage. Any 996 owner would be nuts to pay thousands for a name brand exhaust.

      I know, with this mod it’s really hard to justify spending a ton of money on an exhaust. With the windows up it’s not bad there is no drone to it. It’s just the right volume when you get on it.

    Sounds amazing man. Perfect amount of volume. This is what’s missing from all these new modem vehicles with piped in sound. Nice job!

      I know I want some real exhaust sound. The stock exhaust is way too quiet.

    Definitely like the mod better than muffler delete…what size pipe was used to do the crossover that was welded in?

    Nice work but stay away from those horseshoe style clamps, it ruins your pipes. Get sleeve style, no damage to the exhaust pipes and it makes the job of removing the mufflers a lot easier.

    I have Fabspeed cat delete and muffler delete love them but can not drive permanently. It takes me 2 half hours to put the muffler back on. I remove the bumper and heat shields to make it easier to install and clean the parts along the way.

      Hows the smell from the exhaust with no cats?

      Well yes sound level wise I don’t feel like getting pulled over. One nice thing is they don’t check emissions equipment when the car is 15 years or older. So no cats as long as it’s not too loud. I’d probably go for the 200cel cats and a nice set of headers. I do like the soul performance ones.

    Bonjour,
    Je voulais connaître le diamètre de votre bypass ? Super vidéo et très système qui me paraît plus agréable que des silencieux inox sur des grandes distances.

      I used 1.5 inch pipes. Its not too loud and doesn't drone while driving.

    How would you adjust the tips left to right. I have an issue with one of my tips being off centre in the bumper housing. (996c4s).

    • @KevinsEuropeanGarage
      @KevinsEuropeanGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a clamp that hold the tip to the muffler pipe if you loosen that up you can adjust the tip.

      @@KevinsEuropeanGarage I tried this but the movement is in an arc? Is that right? Seems to not want to be placed exactly where I want it. Maybe I'm doing it wrong lol!

    • @KevinsEuropeanGarage
      @KevinsEuropeanGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The other choice you have is to loosen up the muffler and and main muffler clamp and reposition that way. There is some play on how the muffler bolts to the bracket

    • @docloco86
      @docloco86 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KevinsEuropeanGarage is that the two bolts on that single clamp

    • @KevinsEuropeanGarage
      @KevinsEuropeanGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is that clamp that hold the muffler to the cat pipe and the three bolts that hold the muffler to the engine bracket. You would have to loosen all and you can try to move it and tighten it in a new position. But if your engine mounts are worn the tips will sit low in the bumper might be worth checking them out.
