Us country boys whom are locker room bandits that are old school taught of old ways use what we got. Cheap as we can go. My brother and I started raising cattle back in 1990. We currently have a 1965 4000 Ford, 68 5000 Ford and 1966 1020 John Deere that we use. Yep on we have rebuilt both Fords and in process of the John Deere. But we own them.

This whole video reminds me of my dad's way of doing things. He was a country boy from Southern Ga, transplanted there from Alabama by my grandfather in the 30's. Another awesome how to Jeff - thanks for all you take time to record for us. We appreciate it all.

Man I am seriously considering finding a job in Alabama and moving there. The environment look so much like southern Germany, and there is so much cool stuff to do there. Noodling, hunting, hog trapping, mud wrestling, etc!

i remember driving my gpaws tractor 1 time and accidentally disturbing a bumble bee nest. As they were chasing and stinging me i realized i could actually run faster than i could drive the tractor... so i jumped off, with it still n gear and proceeded to out run the tractor and the bees as my dad and grandpa laughed their butts off. The good ole days before i moved to the city 😂

I did the same with my equipment till one day my wife said shut up complaining and GO BUY YOU A NEW TRACTOR! So with her blessing I did. Bought a low hour 5075E Deere with MFWD and glad I did. Now when I need it it I don't have to work on it before I can use it and the payments weren't that bad. Just a few hours overtime covers it. It is big enough to do the job but not too big to easily haul around. Your ground worked up well. You are like me in that respect. I am in middle Ga. and we have sandy soils too. I dare say more plots are planted the way you did yours than not. Let us know how it turns out and oh yea Hi Hannah........

Love that old Kubota. L175 maybe?? ( might be bigger but it's hard for me to see) Heat or low oil is about the only thing that'll kill that engine. Heat is real bad for them. Hope ya get her cooled off soon. Would love to see a video of you going through it to get her right.
That machine is as close as they come to being bullet proof. You'll be able to use it till ya don't want to run a tractor anymore, then pass it down to Hannah and it'll be there for her as long as she wants to run a tractor.

Hey Jeff, thanks for the vlog.
Not sure if you have looked into it (probably have) but have you considered a Biochar solution (charcoal) for the feed plot? The branches and smaller limbs that you cut off from the main trees you cut down can be used for Biochar and therefore no waste. Once processed the carbon material will then capture the nutrients in the ‘soil’.
Not sure how this works in a sandy environment but there are a lot of YT vids on Biochar. It’s use dates back many thousand’s of year’s as a way of capturing nutrients and feeding the soil. Look up ‘Tera Preta’ for some details from the Amazon rain forest
Hope all of that makes sense.

I sure understand not wanting another payment as per a tractor. Nice to have but if you don't use it or have to have it every day just not feasible !
