- HERES THE PLAN: Retrieve all 30 of Olimar's Ship Parts while the game is Randomized. This means all enemies, ship parts, and even plants are all random every single day. Also I have the pluckaphone from Pikmin 2 to make things easier lmaoooooo.
This playthrough was streamed on this very TH-cam Channel where I go live Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

37:25 This is a mechanic. If you DISMISS a yellow with a bomb, they WON'T drop it when you call them. If you THROW a yellow with a bomb, they WILL drop it when you call them. You can get Pikmin back into your party by walking into them, which is how you're supposed to get around this.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the game even tells you on one of the olimar logs about how the mechanic works so you know that's a thing. They're even still a bright yellow instead of a faded yellow to show they're still active

Pikmin 1 on GCN is kind of a broken mess, one that makes Sonic 06 look polished and bug-free in comparison, and yes, I do mean that. I experienced less glitches in my 06 playthrough than I did this game.
It was so badly communicated and inconvenient, it was removed in all following games

12:53 This is caused by Mamutas burying Pikmin in water. I'm pretty sure it always causes a crash at the end of day, but maybe this was edited out of the video? I put out an update to fix this, but I guess it didn't reach everybody.
Sorry I'm only seeing this now, but I believe at this timestamp it didn't cause a crash at all. The only crash occurred the 2nd time later on in the Distant Spring. Thanks for the insight tho, I appreciate it :)

37:16 After all these years, there are still people who don't get how the bomb rocks work in the original game, even though the game itself explains this after your first time using a bomb rock. 🤣
They tell you, bomb carriers that were thrown will drop their bombs if you whistle them.
Bomb carriers that were dismissed will keep them.
And if you touch them directly, they will always keep their bombs.
You can even tell which ones are which by whether or not they have the idle pikmin glow around their leaves/buds/flowers. If they glow, they were dismissed. If they don't, they were thrown.
I guess 99% of all players skip the explanation for this, assume they know how it works, and then get mad at the game, which is why this feature was taken out of any subsequent releases of the game.
Yeah, that's the exact reason why tutorials exist. And then people skip them because they are "annoying and useless."
Well… ok it’s important to note where the tutorial appears in order to talk about mystery when you first get a bomb rock it remains vauge on how they work and it takes you killing your pikmin once for a warning that you need to be careful and if you do it again then you get the explanation (though that didn’t mean the entire squad needed to die).
This man was able to bring peace to the Crips and Bloo- I mean, Bananas in order to accomplish a noble mission: Getting the hell off this planet.
Wow, this video is just plain beautiful; I love your editing and narration styles, especially with regard to your info graphics and voice delivery! All the rainy scenes - especially in the Forest Navel where lightning would strike for each enemy you defeated - were amazing too

They really need to put multiple enemies into the pit at the end because no single enemy (excapt maybe the smokey progg) is a good replacement for the emperor.

“Is that the smoky Progg?!?!?!?” My reaction to the night time mode of pikmin 4. Absolutely terrifying. But they introduced as a night time mob which explains a lot actually from his dark skin to his glowing eyes to the fact that you only ever see him once and it’s in egg form. I think it adds up
Fun fact: when I played Pikmin I thought the candypop was an enemy and avoided it. So I got that one ship part by throwing the yellows onto the high platform, both there and back. Might've been easier cuz I was playing the Wii verison.

Yellow Pikmin dropping a bomb when being whistled is not a glitch, it is a feature, it was purposefuly coded in even though it serves no purpose other than making you want to throw your controller at the screen
Thankfully they removed it in the Switch version, and potentially the Wii version but I can't confirm that one
Not Wii… most glitch’s are still there like the floor glitch which wasn’t talked about (crime) but you can see it through the video.
it does serve a purpose; yellow pikmin don't throw bombs on their own in the gamecube version. the wii version changed it so that they do, which while it's more intuitive, it also makes the final boss much, much harder because they almost never throw the bomb when they need to. at best, you can only get half length stuns because he eats the pikmin with the bomb.
Many things about this, music selection, editing, general presentation, were peak.

A normal pikmin Game gives you the radar when you collected 2 pieces before (normally), but, of course, in this randomizer, you get the radar when you need 2 more pieces to finish the Game LOL.

It gives you the radar when you find and collect the whimsical radar. It's kind of disappointing that it's the only part that gives you any abilities.

Kinda funny that you didn’t get the radar until the very end. I got to play through the first game on Switch for the first time ever and didn’t even consider the fact that there was a way to track where the ship parts are until I just paused sometime and saw a bunch of random stars on my map.

Woke up, groggy as a prog, told myself "what do i need today?". Simple answer: i need the Don.
I wish I was there for the stream for the banana candy pop puzzle. I actually did this wrong on accident. I threw bananas at the square island and then got onto the island to throw them to the other side. After that I threw them at the ship part and then threw them all back to the square island and then got crips to take it back home after it was on the ground.
I did this on my first day there and could’ve helped so much earlier than you knew about lol. When you mentioned how it works in the video I just went “wait I did that wrong??”
