This comment is for anyone who's main obstacle is fear. Just 2 weeks ago I was still thinking I would never land a pop shuvit. I've always wanted to be a pro skater and the fact that I was so scared to land it made me so frustrated. My biggest fear was landing preemo and falling backwards or the board sliding out from under me. This fear wouldn't let me commit. This plus being relatively over-weight made me want to give up. This is me telling anyone who feels this way right now, don't give up. There's no one way to overcome the fear of commiting. The only thing you can do is really really try. But if your curious on how I landed my first one, my little brother had pissed me off so I ran outside and skated off. I was so angry I didn't even care so I really went for it. I landed with just my back foot for the first time. That have me enough confidence to commit and I landed it. 2 weeks later I was scared again and just overcame the fear today. If anyone wants help just reply I'll try to give the best advice I can, good luck!! Update: I have since landed a kickflip and can ollie into 5050s, my kickflips are extremely inconsistent because they're still sketchy to me but I can do them 🤣
No problem man. I can't wait to work on my shuvit now. But seriously, keep the same format. You show so many different angles and it's so repetitive (in a good way). And you really have a comprehensible way of explaining.
I like these more than Braille's tutorials. You're more straight forward with your tutorials and your directions are clear and concise with helpful graphics. You're making the tutorials I wish I could make, but lacked the skate knowledge to make.
Yeah with Arron Kyro instead of trying to teach really good how to do stuff and he barely explains how to do stuff in detail and just messes around for the other half when he’s not trying to teach u
as some other guy said, your tutorials are so much better than braille’s. for me, they’re all entertainment and no education. you’ve got a perfect balance of both. keep on doing what you’re doing, you’re helping a lot of kids like me learn to skate. :)
I know what you mean. There is a part of the brain called," fusiform face area." this part of the brain has a job to look for faces in objects or people. In this case, what you see is a sad house (2 windows for eyes and the porch railing as the sad mouth), but what I see is just a normal house. I was once one of those kids who wondered why the outlets look like faces. I would often get creeped out by them.
I wish you had the amount of viewers as Braille skateboarding because your tutorials have taught me so much more the Braille skateboarding has taught me and it really helps me out I couldn't be as good of a skater if it weren't for you
This actually helped a lot to finally land the pop shove all I had to do was jump forward which no one else said thank you so much FYI your Chanel is so under rated
Your tutorial is so good! I started skateboarding a month ago and it been so so fun! Pop shove is a trick i loovvee and am excited to learn! Your video makes me feel confident i can do ur soon!! Thank you!
Instantly scrolled past the first 3 Braille tutorials to find this one; compared to Braille this is so much better and well explained Braille is overrated Edit: landed my first pop shuv it because of your tutorial! Thanks so much man
Big thing is to practice jumping on your board really high and lifting your feet high, and then try to ollie after doing that. That was the main reason I couldn’t ollie because wasn’t jumping high enough
i done my first ollie, first day back after i quit.. skated for 2 years and could never do an ollie, i quit and 8 months later i done it in 10 mins 😂 can do it every time now
it took me 3 hours of continuous, non-stop skating. but i JUST LANDED MY FIRST POP SHUVIT LETS GOOOOO!!! I’ve had the board for 3 weeks and already got ollie, frontside 180 and now pop shuvit. only took me like 3 hours a day everyday lmfao
Damn nice bro I literally spent my first 7 months of skating getting good at Ollie's and then I spent 3 months just getting better at frontside 180s and switch too and switch and in these last two months I've been working on backsides and pop shuvits but I'm really bad at backside tricks I regret not learning shuvit early on, but I can still do all these tricks just not consistently enough. My consistent tricks are frontside 180s, fake shuvs, fakie front 180, fakie front 360 when I'm completely warmed up, normal shuvs when I'm completely warmed up, and boardslide. tricks I don't have consistent are pop shuvit but I can still do them 5/10 times, switch frontsides, half-cab, backsides, 50-50, and Nollie shoveit.
I have the chickenfoot curse. I can easily land it with my front foot, but my back foot just goes straight to the pavement. My back foot doesn't even hop forward with the forward motion of the board, so when I land my legs are far apart. Any tips would be much appreciated!
Thank you so much , when you said “just jump forward “ now I know why my back foot wasn’t getting on , thank you much your my favorite youtuber on befginer skateboarders 🙏
After getting the scoop motion down, i tried landing it on grass to eliminate the fear of somehow hurting myself and it really helped me out. After a few landed ones on grass you feel more comfortable with it and commiting on flat is a lot easier. Keep in mind that scoop motion, having to jump a little bit forward and you'll land it quickly

I’ve never been very active on this Chanel, sort of like skateboarding for me. I only touch my board maybe 3 days a week and didn’t pick up skateboarding until I turned 19 pretty old, but I wanted to say that I find your content really good and super helpful.
I’m honestly getting really mad because I have been doing Ollies for about 8 months now and I feel like I’m making no progress and even getting less consistent with my Ollies.
Definitely check out VLskates ollie vids. The one titled something along the lines of “how to ollie better” or “why you can’t ollie” really helped me. I noticed a ton of tutorials talk about the front foot, but never what the back foot should do. As soon as VLskate pointed out what the back foot should do, and that it’s a Teeter totter motion my ollies nearly instantly got way better and way more consistent
I finally relearned a pop shuv it! I remember that I learned these before an Ollie. One day I had a bad slam and then I had trouble doing it. Now I know it again! Thanks!
nah dude watch his ollie guys and dont over think it back foot kick down then almost immediatly jump then kick your foot out, thats really rough guide but watch his he explains 10000x better
If you are having the same problem as the og commenter i recommend putting your front foot on the ground and practice landing only on your back foot for the scooping motion
Could you help me, first of all i skate goofy so my left foot is my back foot, when i shove it my board flies away in the direction of my right foot, so i land left of the board, with my right foot on the board. what am i doing wrong?
Metamorphosis Heyo! Beginner Skater Over here who had the same problem with the board flying away. The solution; just lean a bit more in the direction the board is flying! That should fix it :D
I watched this vid an hour before my practice , then an hour later l landed my first pop shove it , l think this guy is dope, l had to come back and comment
i can pop and shuvit it just fine, my biggest problem is catching it. i usually only catch it with the tips of my toes and it flips over, or land on the board so awkwardly i need to step off. i'll also mention it only happens to me while moving. I can get a stationary one in a try or two.
The reason is that moving pop shuvits are very different from stationary ones, while moving you dont need to jump forward as much. thats the biggest difference.
