VTEC is variable valve technology electronic controlled. VVTI in Toyota is no electronically controlled. VTEC is design more for performance purposes. • @BharathYammanur
      @BharathYammanur 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is the characteristic of iVtec.. valve opening will be small in low rpm so if driven sedately u will get good mileage and once u rev up the engine the valve opening timing will increase along with lift. Thus u get acceleration rush!

    Honda should work on delivering better products at a competitive price to the Indian customer instead of doing promotions for their age old inventions...
    For sure ivtec petrol engine is a gem but competition have moved ahead with more value, improved build quality, smarter tech like turbo charging...
    The only that stands out in Honda cars are their supremely refined yet engaging engines but they don't l deliver good overall package for their pricing

      Small turbo charged engines like the ones in the Skodas and VWs don't last as long. The City's engine is its best part. They shouldn't change that.

      @Moonlight-hq3gi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @Arjun true
      these 3 cylinder 1000cc engines are overhyped 😂
      but honda need to give a 4 cylinder turbo as a option to rival 1.5 tsi...
      and a gearbox like Torque Converter

      @@arjun3807
      I'm not denouncing the fact that ivtec is a gem of an engine but the modern turbocharged engines are catching up interms of longevity and are much more reliable than first gen turbo charged petrol engines..
      Honda in early years set a good standard for build quality but after the Volkswagens and Skodas have come in, Honda cars aren't a match to them currently..
      The ownership costs of vw has come down considerably and the initial asking price of European brands offer mich more value than they were a decade ago..
      Honda has a smaller service intervals and aren't cheap to maintain..
      Honda missed a trick by not offering civic with a petrol manual...

      @@siddarthsiddhu3406 ever heard of carbon buildup problems in TSI engines. The VAG group does produce cars with good build quality but reliability isn't that great. The DSG gearboxes are also prone to failure.
