His ability to resist Rangiku’s charms alone proves that his discipline is Head Captain worthy. Jokes aside, we also know that Yamamoto’s Bankai changed over time to become even more dangerous. So I can definitely see Toshiro becoming a head captain candidate one day.
Especially considering that Shunsui even said that Toushiro would probably surpass him in 100 years...and that was during Shunsui's confrontation with Starrk.

yeah in 100 years he'd be fully matured, taking that adult state but at that time he'd be physically an adult, not just to compensate for the lack of physical strength to hold his bankai's powers.

His demeanor, his age and elemental opposites with Yama-jii and Shunsui's foreshadowing in his conversation with Starrk makes me believe that Bleach is supposed to run longer and Hitsugaya will become a head captain.
If Hell arc is happening, then I hope we see Toshiro's full adult bankai power as Hell is associated with fire, Toshiro with his power can really shine especially since he said that he can freeze all 4 elements. Ofc Rukia as well with her abilities, but since this is a Toshiro video I focused on him.

He can freeze all matter and energy not only 4 elements. Quincy bow is not elemntal but is light energy made of reishi, yet he froze and nullify it. Which means any attacks of reishi will be neutralized. Kidos included.
I was not surprised to see Hitsugaya use a more mature Bankai as I felt it was hinted all the way back when he fought Shawlong at the start of the Arrancar who speculated that his Bankai was incomplete due to how young he is. It was then confirmed by Hitusgya himself when he fought Harribel. Kubo made a lot of choices as an author that I think really hurt the overall quality of Bleach, but this was one of the things he did quite well in my opinion. It not only laid the ground work for Hitsugaya revealing the completed Bankai at the end of the TYBW, but it also created a narrative justification for his struggles in earlier fights namely he was fighting with incomplete powers and he was holding back out of fear he might lose control and kill his allies and innocent bystanders. At the same time however the reveal itself, while awesome and well done, was undermined to a large extent by the fact that Gerard could not die until Ywach decided it was time for him to die. This was kind of an recurring problem for how Kubo handled Hitsugaya which I think contributed a large part to his decline in popularity. One point of your analysis I respectfully disagree with is when you indicated that you felt he had "the potential to be one of the most powerful captains" but only because I think he has already achieved that. At the end of the TYBW arc I think he is one of the four strongest Captains with the other three being Kyoraku, Byakuya, and Kenpachi. If you expanded the analysis to include the Captains at the start of the Soul Society arc I think the only additions to that list would be Unohana, Aizen, and Yamamoto. Keep in mind if not for Gerard's ability to regenerate from anything, Hitsugaya would have been able to kill him on his own (and fairly easily once he brought out the complete Bankai) and at that point Gerard had been throwing around multiple Captain class characters like they were nothing. If we end up getting the Hell Arc, it would not be shocking to me if at the end of it, Hitsugaya ended up being the strongest Captain of the Gotei 13 once it is over, even if Kyorkau, Byakuya, and Kenpachi survive without being weakened in any way. Given enough time I think he at the least has the potential to surpass Aizen and Yamamoto. If we do get the Hell arc, I think what HItsugaya needs is as a character is at least one but preferably more scenes where he does something that unequivocally awesome without having it undermined like what happened to him so many times in the previous arcs.
Toshiro Bankai in my opinion parallels Yamamoto Bankai which burns anything off existence while Toshiro bankai freezes anything off existence. Even kyoraku said toshiro will surpass him in hundreds year is a foreshadowing that he will be next head captain.

Toshiro once he fully mature then no question he will be on the same level as Yamamoto and Ichibe. It's a shame he couldn't really master his completed bankai form since he just recently achieved it.
I really wished his adult form was a permanent after effect of his True Bankai but since he hasn't mastered it yet i hope he won't have to grow into and adult every time he use it (I also just watched your recent video about Kubo answering the Bleach community questions) and the fact that Toshiro had already achived Bankai when Isshin was the still Squad 10 captain is an impressive feat and imo he probably has the highest potential out of all the pure Shinigamis Hopefully we see more of his growth in the Hell arc if it gets a sequel

What exactly makes him a prodigy? Is it his reiatsu? His intellect? His maturity? What's the primary reason for him being only a kid and still being able to become a captain? I keep wondering about that.
Prodigy means you're way to advanced for your own good. He shouldn't have been captain for his age. He shouldn't have able to have huge reiatsu by his age. He shouldn't have graduated in the Shinigami academy with highest rating, fastest to be able to do and being the youngest at the same time. He shouldn't have the strongest ice type Zanpakuto as a kid. And despite all of this his potential is still way way far ahead. Being prodigy means his ceiling or potential to reach far far outclasses everyone's because his learning frame accelarates way more than a normal one. The reason despite his great potential, he has low battle IQ and is because he is still a kid.
I am not understanding one thing that in manga squad zero lost to Wandenreich and then member of Gotei 13 defeat them but now in anime senjumaru defeat Wandenreich that shows how powerful squad zero actually is which I appriciate but one thing I noticed in the teaser of cour 3 that uryu is breaking out from senjumaru's banaki and if all of them break out what is the purpose of senjumaru's bankai I mean it's more dispointing that in manga they did't use bankai and lost and in anime one of them used bankai still lost. and if all of them didn't able to breakout then how kubo show us hitsugaya and urahara's bankai
Hitsugaya IS one of My favourite Bleach characters and his bankai Hyorinmaru IS amazing. Diamond dust rebellion his own movie IS so good btw. Its cool Hitsugaya IS an adult now But I'll have to say I like More young Hitsugaya But adult IS good too. I cant wait when Yachiru grown up to an adult. Yeah I do think that he has potential of captain Yamamoto like his equal opposite of his fire Zanpakuto. A theory I always had that he was like the long lost great great grandfather of Yamamoto. They both serious and hardworking though have different tastes in weather preferences

Captain Hitsugaya absolutely has the potential to be Ice-type captain commander Yamamoto, and im sure he can achieve that level in 500 years, rather than needing 1000 like Yamamoto did.
I mean Shunsui said Hitsugaya would surpass them by 100 yrs. So it's no surprise he could stronger. What I didn't catch the first time reading, but caught watching TTYBW was him mentioning he has refined his Bankai to become a "true bankai" meaning he had truly mastered it. My first thoughts upon seeing his new adult form? "Ummm we might want to hide him from Rangiku now."
He has completed it, not mastered it because if he wants to mastered his 'True Bankai', then his body have to be able to withstand Hyorinmaru's enormous strengths but since his physical body is still a child surely his body cannot withstand it, that's why Hyorinmaru 'forcefully' aged-up his body so he can withstand all those powers
its pretty cool to see that his power doesn't just come from being purely cold like rukia, but the fact that anything he freezes just stop working and its abilities just gets shutdown, it should have been able to shutdown the miracle and let byakuya get a killing blow, the fight should have ended there
Miracle is like the heart of the soul king. With how it's used - basically a miracle, no shinigami should be able to stop it otherwise it would not make sense plot wise. That's why only the steinitters leader who is the son of the soul king can retrieve it or destroy it.
actually isn’t ichigo the youngest captain based on … cuz the soul reapers in ss age slow, however he was still a child. ichigo was like 20-30 years yet hitsugya is much older
I mean Ichigo is captain level but not a captain. The fact that he's human and ages fast is what helps him grow in power so quickly (and his Quincy / shinigami heritage). 😊
He only ages up due to his Bankai. His small body can't handle the true power of his bankai so Hyorinmaru has to age him up. When he's done using it he returns to his normal self.

Another cool foreshadowing was when he fought Shawlong Koufang, shawlong assumes his bankai is on a time limit but hitsugaya ignores the comment.

He shouldn't have graduated in the Shinigami academy with highest rating, fastest to be able to do and being the youngest at the same time. He shouldn't have the strongest ice type Zanpakuto as a kid. And despite all of this his potential is still way way far ahead. Being prodigy means his ceiling or potential to reach far far outclasses everyone's because his learning frame accelarates way more than a normal one. The reason despite his great potential, he has low battle IQ and is because he is still a kid.
I am not understanding one thing that in manga squad zero lost to Wandenreich and then member of Gotei 13 defeat them but now in anime senjumaru defeat Wandenreich that shows how powerful squad zero actually is which I appriciate but one thing I noticed in the teaser of cour 3 that uryu is breaking out from senjumaru's banaki and if all of them break out what is the purpose of senjumaru's bankai I mean it's more dispointing that in manga they did't use bankai and lost and in anime one of them used bankai still lost. and if all of them didn't able to breakout then how kubo show us hitsugaya and urahara's bankai

Yeah I do think that he has potential of captain Yamamoto like his equal opposite of his fire Zanpakuto. A theory I always had that he was like the long lost great great grandfather of Yamamoto. They both serious and hardworking though have different tastes in weather preferences

Captain Hitsugaya absolutely has the potential to be Ice-type captain commander Yamamoto, and im sure he can achieve that level in 500 years, rather than needing 1000 like Yamamoto did.

He has completed it, not mastered it because if he wants to mastered his 'True Bankai', then his body have to be able to withstand Hyorinmaru's enormous strengths but since his physical body is still a child surely his body cannot withstand it, that's why Hyorinmaru 'forcefully' aged-up his body so he can withstand all those powers

its pretty cool to see that his power doesn't just come from being purely cold like rukia, but the fact that anything he freezes just stop working and its abilities just gets shutdown, it should have been able to shutdown the miracle and let byakuya get a killing blow, the fight should have ended there
Miracle is like the heart of the soul king. With how it's used - basically a miracle, no shinigami should be able to stop it otherwise it would not make sense plot wise. That's why only the steinitters leader who is the son of the soul king can retrieve it or destroy it.

actually isn’t ichigo the youngest captain based on … cuz the soul reapers in ss age slow, however he was still a child. ichigo was like 20-30 years yet hitsugya is much older
I mean Ichigo is captain level but not a captain. The fact that he's human and ages fast is what helps him grow in power so quickly (and his Quincy / shinigami heritage). 😊

He only ages up due to his Bankai. His small body can't handle the true power of his bankai so Hyorinmaru has to age him up. When he's done using it he returns to his normal self.
