As a fan, it took time for me to appreciate Hard Candy. However as I listen to the album again and again, I was able to realize its uniqueness as no two Madonna albums are the same. Reinvention that is, every album is an era.

The story is backwards here, kids. The version that is easily found in HQ IS the original . When Timbaland was working on his album Shockwave 2, he did this production and voice over. Madonna declined to let him include it so he leaked it. The song was finished but was so much like the Miles Away, it didn't make the album. Dat's the true story.
Eu essa versão com batidas mais "clean e fresh", pois as vozes se sobressaem mais. Mas adoro a versão com a batida mais pra frente e impactante "bassy". Acho que dá mais corpo pros vocais e os deixam mais embalados. Aliás, Across The Sky, Late Pala Tute, Ribg My Bell e Animal deveriam estar no Hard Candy, sem tirar nenhuma outra música. Pois gosto de todas.
I have never understood how on earth "4 Minutes" was chosen to be included on the Hard Candy album instead of "Across the Sky". This song is SO much better than the fluff that was "4 Minutes".
@Kelly Evans 4 Minutes is one of the few songs I like from Hard Candy. It’s so upbeat and makes you wanna dance.. But the album would’ve been 10x better if the demos were included. Latte, Animal and of course Across The Sky which is probably my favorite Madonna demo.
Hard candy is a strong album. It's way better than American Life or rebel heart. The opening ,candy shop is one of the strongest Madonna songs. She missed the opportunity of a great video. Again she knew how to adapt at what where happening in music at that time.

American life is a very weak album. And rebel heart seems to me like a compilation of b sides. Hard candy is very strong ,good lirics and a more contemporary album. American life was a great concept,but she didn't manage to develop that concept. For me Rebel heart doesn't have a classic single that eventually become like a classic. Living for love is close but it looks like lost in the album.
@Joe Perez Agree to disagree... Hard Candy had 3-4 good songs but that’s it. Songs were boring, sounded the same and lyrics were not that great. American Life was the opposite.. she had a lot to say in that album and the songs were great. We obviously just have a different taste in music and see it differently. Rebel Heart had some great songs and lyrically, again was a great album cuz she had a lot to say...So I guess I’m done with this conversation lol 🤣🙄🤦♀️.

It´s the music, the melody is great, her voice at its best. Dubtronic got rid of the horrible guitars and percussion. Look for that wondeful version.
