- Written by lead guitarist George Curry, Don't let it fade away managed no 18 in the UK charts in December 1979. Newly recruited bass vocalist (replacing Den Hegarty) Kenny Andrews appears on TOTP but did not sing on the track.
Why can't bands be this good today?
I tear up every time now. I loved Bobs voice and got to chat with him many years later and he was so kind to me and helpful when I was ill despite me being star struck he was even speaking to me!! lovely guy who IMO "made" Darts miss him loads.... so sad, but what a talented guy in so many things, Good Journey Bob X :(
RIP Bob Fish ( lead vocals on this track )
It was sad to see Den go, but Kenny was a very worthy replacement. Darts forever!
so called boy and girls bands of today will never last as long as darts have
Bob fish lives forever in my heart
loved this song , still sounds great today
Fantastic. Saw Darts live in 1978 and this was an 'Our Tune' for me and a girlfriend at the time. Great memories.
I remember this song being refreshingly soulful compared to most of the other dross that was around at the time!
another beauty from Darts although this one surely was inspired by The Beatles 'Let it Be'
Its a variation of those four chords used in hundreds of songs
classic..dont let it fade away.......
Happy Birthday to George Currie (lead guitar) for today, 14th Jan.
An original member of Darts and back gigging with them to this day (roll on July).
George wrote this ageless track. Many Darts fans agree that DLIFA gets better and better as time goes by.
He also wrote Naff Off (b-side to CBML) and Let Rip With The Lip (with Horace).
Such a beautiful song - cheers George! x
I love this song even more now, beautiful!
See Darts live @ The 100 Club, Oxford Street, London - Sat 12 July & the next day they R closing the Americana Festival, nr Notts. Last yrs gigs - all sold out so don't delay!
When I saw them last Nov/Dec they were as great as ever - unbelievable!
Rita is still gorgeous, Griff IS Daddy Cool, Pikey sings as so sweetly and Den is pure madness. The rest of the guys - Nosmo, Horace, George, Jimmy and Thump are magnificent - no wonder they still rock!
Is this live as the voice and tesax certainly sound softer
it has a feel of the Beatles 'Let It Be'
I keep wanting to sing "no woman no cry" from Bob Marley when I hear this song.
why don't you sing it then?
why don't you sing it then?
Hey Ken, give him a break

Trumpets

Don't see no sorrow, feel no pain...
