I was there first week of July. Stayed in unique section. Food, service, staff, bars, drinks, room, cleanliness all top notch. Boats out the front on the beach we’re playing loud music but with ear buds it’s not heard. At the price point for what you get you can’t nit pick. There are way more positives than negatives.
@@christinahaddrell2110 We are glad you had a great time. Was there anything we said that you disagree with? It may help future travelers decide or feel better about their decision? Thanks!
@@EricandAnitaTravels Only about the service really. We found the staff tried to communicate with us. And the upgrade to eat at the unique buffet was worth it. Butler was great too. But this was the only place for daily lobster and filet mignon.
@@christinahaddrell2110 yea if we went back I would still upgrade to unique and go to the unique buffet. I’m glad you disagreed with the service. The service I believe could be a hit or miss because it depends on the workers that are working there at the time. We don’t know the turn over rate and if our workers are going to be the same as your service workers. We are glad you were able to get great service when you went. We were there early September so who knows now. Thanks again! -Eric
I liked your review and think it is spot on. You did put my guy Coolist on blast by flashing his thumbnail like they paid him. It may help to understand that he goes to all of the most popular ones (the guy is likely at a new one as we speak). He points out what he likes and dislikes about all of them. He also said the AC stunk and was not a fan of the layout and the food was ok at the price. It does look nicer than Riu Republica to me perhaps just less lively. Anyway his videos are still very helpful even if they did pay him (have no idea if they did but they should have... they all should pay him). :)
Thanks for the comment, I do like the coolist content and what he does because without someone like him we wouldn’t have his insight on so many places and we take it for what it’s worth. I understand everyone’s experience is different. We also notice in the TH-cam world some biased reviews because of compensation in some form or another. We just wanted to let everyone know our experience. 25 plus resorts makes it a hard decision to make and we watched so many videos before landing on the 2 we stood at. As far as RIU, I have never been but that seems to be more youthful and lively. If you want a foam party then that’s the place. Thanks again for your comment I appreciate it.
Good review. I'm due there in november, and I've read the same thing about the service, the mouldy smell, and the risks of food poisoning. Hoping that the good out weighs the bad, because it looks the part and has everything.
I think the biggest thing for us was the room smell. This was our experience and I hope yours is different. Don’t forget the sunscreen. Oh AND download there app before you get there so when you get your room number you can start booking your dinners. Also, they let us check in a couple hours early. I hope our video helps. -Eric
I stayed 9 nights unique with my wife last November. You’re gonna feel like a king being unique 😎 especially not having to fight for a spot at the beach. Also, don’t forget, being unique you’re allowed to have lobster everyday for lunch so enjoy 😉
Great honest review, lopesan is a good brand and the hotels are fantastic except the food and room maintenance which let's it down so badly, I know from my trip to lopesan costa meloneras in june 24. When I come to Dr I will definitely scratch this of my list of hotels. Well done
Im there next August i dont have the option to change hotels so im gonna stick with it. Im going to pack a few airfreshners with me for the smell. Kind of wish i never booked 11 nights now
No. I went last year in November for my honeymoon at Lopesan for 10 days and it was one of the best food that a resort had. And I’ve been too MANY good quality resorts all over Mexico. I had the unique package which was worth it for sure. But every restaurant they had nailed it. My favourite was the Japanese tapenyaki. I would go back in a heart beat.
@@Nattymatty7 the tapanyaki and the asador restaurants were really good. The rest in our opinion were mediocre at best especially after visiting another all inclusive resort right after. Like we said it’s good enough in our opinion. We would never say it’s top notch but we are glad you liked it and had a great time. Thanks for commenting!
Thanks for the detailed video. Im going to stay away from this place. I've watched a lot of videos on PC resorts recently, and this one of the best. Keep making them and good luck for the channel.
Hello guys! Thank you so much for the review. I booked there because I heard the food was amazing. I was hesitant between this one and the Hyatt which is much more expensive. Also another one recommended was the Excellence Punta Cana…
Hi and thanks for watching! yes the hyatt is a little more expensive but worth it our opinion. There are a ton of resorts in punta cana and hopefully we can get to most of them. We will be posting our review of the Hyatt this weekend. If you end up some where else please come back and tell us your experience. Thanks again!
I’m a bit worried now going there with my 3 & 5 years old in January , we can be careful about food but with them its going to be harder. And i’m so sensitive to smell, that doesn’t look good :/ . But i dont even know what resort to look at now, i feel like they all/might have problems? Do you recommend another one?
We stood about 6 days at Hyatt zilara which has a family side as well called Hyatt Ziva cap Cana. The service is next level and the food is what you’d expect from a Hyatt. They serve you at the buffet. You still walk up but they serve you the food and it’s all air conditioned. We will be making a video review in the next week. We recommend it. It’s a little more expensive but worth it. Hope this helps, if not come back for the Hyatt review video.
I think people should be paying attention to time of travel when looking at reviews. Traveling during the summer months vs winter months will likely be a vastly different experience. The summer months there are unbearably hot where the winter months are a comfortable heat high 70s low 80s. I couldn't imagine going between April and September.
I am here at Lopesan Bavaro right now and couldn’t agree more with your review! I checked reviews to see if I was being overly critical. There is the smell of mold in our room and the smell of sewage in various places on the property. The staff seems to have no training at all and the food is not good. Even things that are usually ok wherever you go, like wings and corn dogs are inedible here. I was worried about overeating on my vacation but no worries there. The property is nice but seems uncared for in a way that would make the experience worth the cost. My recommendation: choose a different location if not too late.
I didn’t see anyone checking but I think the orange towel and orange wrist band is a dead giveaway. The water portion isn’t blocked, it’s where the loungers and umbrellas are.
Shit we’re going there in 3 weeks 😂, we where in DR at 2018 and vowed not to ever comeback after going Mexico 🇲🇽 at 2019 after straight vacation we thought of giving DR another chance 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ 🤞🏽we know DR is not known for there service and food that’s why we love Mexico
@@wigglz wow and you think Lopesan is better than the Hyatt?! We’ve been to the Hyatt zilara and it was head a shoulders above Lopesan.
