- Back in May, Florida State University asked the North Carolina supreme court to overrule Judge Bledsoe’s decision from the State Business Court. FSU wants the case only to be heard in Florida. The ACC issued a response late last week and explained why, in their view, the case must proceed in North Carolina. The current battle is being fought over venue and jurisdiction. Neither case in Florida or NC has reached discovery or gotten to a point where we have a better idea as to whether the ACC’s Grant of Rights is enforceable.
Hosts Alex Donno and Kenton Gibbs discuss the latest details on the ACC’s response. Meanwhile, Mike Farrell Sports has named Mario Cristobla among five college coaches ready to “break through.” Will Cristobal’s roster construction make up for some of his questionable decisions on the sideline? The finish line is not a court ruling. The beginning of discovery is the finish line. ESPN can not and will not allow this to play out publicly in FL. I suspect this is what Josh Pate’s legal source was referring to when he said this is about to wrap up very soon.

They could go independent and make far more money per year than the SEC or Big. Example... Notre Dame, they make more money per year than any college football program.
Going independent is not an option. FSU does not have the national prowess to attain an audience like Notre Dame. FSU audience is regional even though they have a national brand. TV networks aren’t going to set up a contract with FSU like Notre Dame ever. Plus, who is FSU going to schedule all the games they wanna play are against PS4talent and teens. But the most of the schedule end up looking like a G5 schedule because not every team is going to be available to play them throughout the entire year it’ll be a scheduling nightmare.

Ever sports network in the country, talks about how bad the ACC is. FSU came into the conference and bullied ever school in the conference, stop trying to make it seems that FSU needs the ACC. When history shows that FSU is the big dogs in conference and we will not going to forget Clemson. In other conferences the power to go to other schools, other than just two schools. In the past 10 years, you have at least three schools that have controlled there conference, but not in the ACC.

I think the NCAA made a huge mistake in allowing some teams in a division or conference to make more money than others. By doing so, the NCAA is complicit if not responsible for creating an unfair, uneven playing field. I can’t think of any other principle that should be more at “the core” of the NCAA’s mission as an organization than to provide an even playing field to every student athlete competing in D1 football, as well as every other sport under their jurisdiction. #Travesty

Think it’s not necessary that Clemson and FSU want more money, they definitely do but it’s more how much the teams in the power two will make and those are the teams FSU and Clemson want compete with not the ACC so with the money now at even a wider margin that makes it that much harder to compete when they already had an advantage to begin with.

If UM doesn’t win at least 9 games during the regular season, Mario should go. It’s not going to be a good year unless they win at least 10 during the season. I think they can do it, but it’s not a given. Mario needs to demonstrate better player development too else it will hurt his recruiting.

@@mikey1hunnid436 Mario is still unproven as a HC. He has no track record of success at this level. He is a great recruiter, but his first staff hires either didn't work out or he interfered with them and used them as scapegoats. I don't know. His player development hasn't shown yet. He had an excellent freshman QB that got worse instead of better. He seems to be the half HC Dan Mullens was missing. A lot of great coordinators, position coaches and recruiters fail as HCs because HC is a completely different job. Giving Mario 3 years to show serious progress on the field is fair enough. Now or never.

Does FL State and Clemson have a standing invitation from the SEC? I didn’t mention the BIG because academically they don’t meet the BIG’s standards. BIG 12 doesn’t pay as much as the ACC.

Im not sure the scale of your intellectual capacity is measured but it’s been repeatedly stated that AAU standards are not a prerequisite for athletic conference membership, if so prove it with a certified source?

I am no a Florida State fan but Florida State has a legitimate gripe. If you get past Florida State, Clemson and Louisville. All the other ACC schools have not made the investment in building their football programs up. Take NC State they would not even schedule a power 5 team out of conference until recently. What does the Composition Clause of the TV Contract specifically say about the Payouts from the Contract in regards to teams leaving or being added? How will the Composition Clause affect ACC Revenue assuming the ACC meets the terms of said Clause?

The only way this gets sped up is FSU/Clemson choosing to mortgage their future, likely impacting success, or ESPN/Fox risk antitrust lawsuits from scorned schools/states.
