Soooooo dope to see Kamasi on The Tonight Show. True Los Angeles musician right here. And big ups to Jimmy for knowing good music! LA for the win! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Holy shit!!! That was transcending! Ain't nothing that's been on TV like Kamasi since the early 70's. Props to Fallon and everyone who made this moment happen!
Another brilliantly crazy head-filling melody from Kamasi and his team, something about his tracks just have a chaos other artists can't replicate that easily.
Saw Kamasi live out here in Brooklyn NY about 3 years ago, what an amazing LIVE show he puts on, and his bass player Myles Mosley is just OUT of this world with his playing….Best live show I have seen in a LONG TIME. So glad Kamasi is finally getting his TV time, he is AMAZING.
Saw Kamasi Washington and band live in 2020 in Nashville, TN..I would have loved to be a "fly on the wall" at last night show..so much energy and vibrations were high for sure!!!
So cool! He ranks up there with Gato Barberi and Johnny Chingas, puro Los Angeles. The music takes me back to the 1970s, Afro-Chicano music with a hint of Return to Forever. Tierra, Malo, El Chicano, etc. all had full bands of this character and so cool to see the influence continue.
Wow! If jazz and funk were fused then flipped upside down. Absolutely brilliant. I've been enjoying jazz funk the last 5 years. Mind blowing stuff what an amazing talent and skill. But these guys take the cake. They have everything. Great jazz, funk, style, pseudo theatrical. I think this is a breakthrough moment for jazz. This band has the potential to convert many two jazz and I think in general an increase interest if nothing else a lot of curiosity.
They already have done that for years. Kamasi Washington sells out 1,000 capacity venues in NYC without a problem every time he comes to town (every 6-12 months pre-pandemic). I don't know any other young Jazz musician who does that.
FINALLY! Could this rare performance of ACTUAL MUSICIANS, PLAYING 'ACTUAL "MUSIC", mean a return to true Soul/R&B "MUSIC"?!! Unfortunately, I doubt it, but it certainly did the heart well to see/hear Kamasi on Fallon. This used to be the norm 40-45 years ago-- certainly before that. No offense to Rap or Hip Hop (I supported both when they first merged on the scene), but -- outside of actual Jazz stations --and College stations that have SPECIFIC Jazz, Blues and R&B shows, I haven't been able to listen to the radio in almost 30-40 years. I'm pleased many were introduced to brother Kamasi on Fallon's show. Peace & Light
He’s the same guy who covered a Metallica song for their Blacklist album Added an insane jazz vibe to a classic metal song And this stuff is incredible! (Although I know pop “musicians” will say there’s too much going on….😂😈)
I saw Kamasi in Brisbane Australia a few years ago was an amazing performance but my god the keys player 'hot sauce' was soooo loud. Tinnitus for days.
Much respect to Fallon for bringing a legit jazz artist on TV.

Musicians like Jacob Collier, Thundercat, and Kamasi Washington being in vogue gives me hope that all is not lost! 🙏😌
He's got almost everybody back in the band for this one, except Thundercat.
That would’ve been absolutely insane
His brother would be on a kit, then. Can’t see yet, but he might be
@@zekeybeats2927 he most definitely is !!

Brandon always add a good touch with his clavi, vocoder, and keytar when he is with Kamasi
there was a chaotic nature about this song that was just so exciting to experience.

Kamasi is the truth!
Saw him when he was touring with Florence and the machine and it was sensational! Huge fan!
It sounds to me like a jazz/funk hybrid. Pretty cool.
This was intense, thank you Kamasi.
Saw him live back in 2017. He is amazing!
Amazing piece ! Amazing musicians !

Talented, but sounds awful.
LOL this is very ugly
Great music, but maybe rethink the singers.
Maybe adjust your taste
The singers have been with him for over 10 years. They was killin. They know his music better than anybody. One of the singers is also his father.
@@rk-mq1ct no his father is the guy on the flute
