I have a 25th anniversary and an 812 and they are AMAZING !!! I also love my Martins. If you ever get to ElCajon California take the time for the Taylor tour. I played one a little at Guitar Center in Monroeville,PA and it is unbelievable for the money.
I just purchased this guitar and it trumps the sound of my older more traditional Taylor. The new expression system is killer compared to the older version. It is by far the best money I've spent in awhile and is better then some other more expensive guitars I've purchased.

Katrin Racheva That they are. If Its gonna take you a while to save Id recommend getting a cheap beater guitar for the time being. Never underestimate a cheap guitar with a good set of strings if you can still practice on it.
To everyone who is saying that this guitar isn't affordable, when it comes to Taylor's it is, but that beings said there are ways you can get them cheaper for instance craigslist, now some of you may not be into buying used gear or buying from Craigslist in general but I've bought two guitars off Craigslist for really great prices one of them more recently and its a 2009 Taylor 214ce I know it's old but it still plays amazingly and I got it for a great price $675 and the guitar is in immaculate shape
I just picked this guitar up for $900 new! I have a Taylor 414 and this guitar sounds just about as good! The 414 has a little bit more clarity but the this 214 has better bass. Cant beat it for the price!
Just bought a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer (fantastic condition) for $1200. Sometime this year I'm gonna buy this guitar for $1300. Never thought I'd pay more for a guitar than a car but it'll be worth it.
It's a very nice guitar. I can't imagine ever buying another acoustic. I have a lot of electrics but once I got this guitar years ago I just quit buying acoustics. It's perfect. Mine is not the deluxe, just 214CE, try that one out, a little cheaper and you might actually prefer it. I like the body size, small, yet as loud as a dreadnought, cut away is perfect. The deluxe might be worth it if you plug it in though, I don't know. I never plug an acoustic up. When I record I mic them, mics sound better on acoustics than a plug to me. Although if you're playing in big venues that might not work.

Too expensive for a non all solid wood guitar. I took it back and bought a Martin all Ovangkol Special GCP for $999.00.
over a 1000 for a layered back and sides give me alvarez masterworks all solid woods any day
