This game is in the uncanny valley for me. I played it all the time a long time ago, but something about the enemies, the way they moved, and the sound effects just creeped me the f out
This run is insane, and blew my mind in a number of ways!! But I have to ask, what in the fxkk is up with the music when you return to TMD!?? I would think it's a glitch, but anyway it's haunting yet cool sounding. Really jarring!
The secret levels are normally unlocked by collecting 4, 8 and 12 gold remotes respectively (you can see it happen later in the run). I use a wrong warp glitch to enter them early because it allows for faster hub world routing.
I wonder how you manage to get the TV Cancel slide so consistently (at least at the beginning when doing wrong warps), for me it's been quite a pain to even achieve it a couple times as he either wouldn't clip on the button while i slide or immediately get stopped by the transportation animation before i even get a chance to do the slide. The tail whip method also doesn't cover enough ground for me to fall off the HUB area and do the wrong warp trick.
It's mostly a matter of practice to get down the slide timing. Keep in mind that you're able to jump during the entire slide animation, so try delaying your jump a little for a bigger window to activate the button. The tail whip method technically works as well if you do two tail whips (chaining tail whips on the ground is frame perfect though).
You have to activate the button during Gex's slide animation that happens when you let go of any directional input. Here's a video showing it off: th-cam.com/video/0AzSz-m8uTM/w-d-xo.html
Sure, feel free to use the route in your TAS. I don't fully understand how wrong warping works, but it has to do with your camera angle and how close you are to another TV (there's probably more to it though). At the moment, there's only consistent setups for getting into the secret levels early.
Now that's what I call gettin' some tail
He also says "let's get it on". I don't want what he's selling

The sound glitch is caused by playing the game on most slim PS2 models (75k and higher). More info: pastebin.com/0qjyeFy5
why is the media dimension music occasionally totally scrooged?

What is the weird world map music and audio? did it get changed for a different region at some point? or is it just bugged out in an emulation?

well done mysticore. I swear though, I thought there was a water level where you ended up entering the titanic. Was that only for the N64?
The Titanic level is N64 exclusive. Version differences: pastebin.com/Gsrp8NgP (tl;dr the N64 port is horrible)
