  • Is the Fujifilm X-E4 a good film camera replacement? Does film vs. digital even matter?

I used to go to Vegas, back in the 90s and early 00s. It was a different vibe back then. Last time I was there was about 3 years ago. I don’t feel a need to return.
But when I was going, I found it a lot more interesting, to my eye, to shoot in the day, and shooting B&W (Ilford XP-2 in a Leica M6 or a Mamiya 6). That time and film removed a lot of the artifice I feel you’re talking about. It stripped that veneer off and revealed a different beast.
Anyways, thanks for taking us along on your Vegas trip!

Yeah I never get to really see it much during the day since I’m usually indoors working somewhere. I’ll have to keep that in mind for my next trip!

You should! Just a tip: make sure you set the multiple exposure blend to "Average"

When I want to save money on film, I just use my Nikon Df. It has that retro vibe and even at 16 mp I print 11x14 with insane quality. I’m mostly shooting medium and large format film since the quality is better for larger prints.

I've heard the Df is great! As far as printing, I've printed a bunch of 60x40 inch prints that look great with my Fuji X-E4 so it's no slouch in that department. But yeah honestly I will probably return home to Nikon at some point in the future
