Another BMW Exhaust Valve Rattle & Fix | F30 340i | RAW Footage!

In a previous video, I heard a rattle and ASS-U-ME'd it was the downpipe clamp. Upon further inspection, I realized it was the exhaust valve so I ordered the clip and set out to fix it!

I fix mine by. Starting car up. Actuator shaft turns in position you need it at. Unplug actuator and turn car off. Now you able to put clip in. I use flat head screw driver to push in place. Plug actuator back in. I did not have to take anything off to fix it.

I wonder if it matters which side the hook goes on. Other vids show it opposite of how you put it in. You were the only one who showed you might have to cycle the engine to get it to line up. So thanks for that!

When I found the rattling, the clip was gone so I didn't have a reference. I guess it works either way.

I think you put it 180 degrees wrong way. The "hook" should be on the exhaust side.

I had to put my car in drive/reverse after i put it in sport mode. My actuator finally moved once i did that. Hope this helps

So when you say you put in sport mode did youbkeave the car on while you stuck it in?

If memory serves, when you put it in sport mode, the valve will open, and when you turn off the engine it stays open and doesn't close until you start the car again.

I’ve been trying for two days and I can’t get it in. Did you cycle through all the driving modes or just sport mode?

Just sport mode if I remember, someone specified cold start. You can try installing it the opposite way. Some said I installed it backwards compared to other vids but it still works the same.

ECS Tuning IIRC. Someone said I installed it backwards but it's still good 2.5 months later.
