  • Not your typical Cardio Tennis I know. You can call it “Wanna Work Out” or "Reps And Steps" if you’d like.
Hit tons of tennis balls and sweat. Add a shadow swing tennis drill for beginners to make the class more productive!

In the unit turn the racket is pointing up and his arm is at diaphragm level. That is not having the racket high. Racket high would be if his arm is above his shoulders. His demonstrations are great. He covers almost everything in 11 minutes and he is incredibly accurate and consistent with his feeds.

His feeds are great. I've tried doing drills and it is much harder to do feeds than it looks. His feeds were 98% accurate which is amazing. I've never gone to a drill class where the feeds are that good. This looks great! I'm going to try it.

Appreciate you say'n that I know a lot of pros that have been teaching a while and still had to learn the overhead hand rapid fire feeding. I certainly did!

Love these training videos. Helps me a lot. I'm a starting trainer myself. Some people just want to do these excerices and i see the worst volleys here, but they had fun. I find it hard to not do technique before any excerice. Some players love what I say to teach them the right way to play forehand, backhand etc. Some just wanna have fun. What would you suggest to please everybody?

Great question. I prefer to call this class “Reps And Steps”. For beginners it’s part two of the ideal pathway to enter tennis. They should first go through a fundamentals class which is slowed down and at least covers five essential strokes. For everyone else all you can do is give the occasional warning that if there is a stroke they are struggling with…repeating it the wrong way over and over isn’t going to help and they should take an instructional lesson. Thanks for the comment!

Nice video. In my opinion too much standing for the players around. Maybe try to implement some footwork drills while waiting so there is more action overall. Thanks for sharing

3:40 - You showed a forehand stroke, not a put away volley.

Detailing how to perform the drills properly should only have to be done once.

No need to apologize. I agree. I actually call this class "Reps and Steps" where people just get reps on essential strokes. It's a great class to transition players from learning fundamentals to a beginner tactical class. "Cardio Tennis" is branded very differently. I'd change the name but think the format of this class is WAY more important for the growth of tennis than "Cardio Tennis". 🤷‍♂️

What are you talking about “seven essential strokes” dude? There’re only SIX! Yes, 6: Serve, forehand, backhand, forehand volley, backhand volley, and overhead. If you’re talking about slice (I’m assuming,) then you’re misinforming, because the slice is a “specialty shot” and a derivative of either the fh or the bh. Besides, if you say slice, then you’d have to add it’s counter part, top spin, then there’s the lob, the drop shot, etc, etc, then you end up with a ton of strokes.

The drill is going fairly fast so the players waiting have to be alert when it’s their turn…
