Flea brings the same energy no matter the size of the crowd. This is definitely how he practices by himself at home.
I’m glad you made this comment because I was gonna say the same thing 💚 flea is such a beautiful soul🙌🏽
will ferrell is such a great drummer
And Jesus is a god at guitar
I’m not convinced that’s actually Flea, I mean he’s wearing a shirt for a start…
This was his practice session, his bandmates and Howard Stern just showed up and crashed it.
They 100% still got it. Chad is like a metronome, Anthony doesn't mess up a single syllable, Flea plays with nothing held back, and John is perfect as always. Age hasn't slowed them a bit.
Totally agree
Amen to this! 100% agree! So happy they're back together :)
I'm just so thankful that things turned out this way. So many other reunions ended up being complete duds, even with all original or popular members being present. However, our boys sound amazing. This also proves that they're not merely trying to cash in on nostalgia. They're 100% serious about this.
I told someone a decade ago how incredible of musicians they are and grow exponentially with time.... 10 years later
Remember good time boys? They don't believe in age!
Not many bands still sound this good after 40 years
when do you think they formed Daniel?
@@hugh-jasole 1983 but I rounded up, also they will still sound this good in 2023

They're in their 60 with the energy of teens! Gosh I love this band!
I hope to be like them when I grow old.
Holy shit they actually are. My mind just got blown😂
That's what helps alleviate my neuroticism over aging, getting older, fading looks, etc. It really is inspiring!
All that cardio does a person real good.
John isn't 60
John's transtion from funk to distorted guitar solo and vice versa is so clean!
Hit s pedal.. hit it again. That simple.
🤯
@@morbidmanmusic thats obvious but its not so easy to do it clean, specially live
How do you get to Carnegie Hall?
@@maiqtheliar_ he must be using a midi controller for the pedal boxes
Frusciante knows when to shred, when to bend, when to power chord.... He knows everything!
He's a master at his craft. I hope he stays forever this time around. He's needed. We need him. We need RHCP.

The audio engineer for Stern is amazing. Studios can't do what this guy/team does. Flabbergasted!

@@bask1876 just listened to it, wow it’s sound so clear even for 2022 standards lettlelone 1997. Howard’s crew need more recognition.
exactly, shout out to the engineer dude
Everybody talking about Flea, John and Anthony but Chad is absolutely rocking it too!
Yeap, I was the whole time eyeing and earing (is that a word?) Chad absolutely demolishing that kit, his technical precision blows my mind every time. One of the their best performances of Give It Away I've seen.
He always was awesome, but somehow I feel that he's pushing it even more on every recent show they made. My main influence as a drummer
Right I feel like he never gets as much recognition as the others.
He's a monster drummer...!!!
👍🙏👍🙏👍
He's Amazing🔥😎🤙🎵🎶
Frusciante nailed those solos, that’s the type of shit I missed from him so much, and that tone.
His tone is even more raw, personal and clean after swapping out the Jubilee. He was using that head since he rejoined, so it's been decades.
yo same. godly fru is back
Yes indeed! The tone! THE TONE!
Brilliant discipline to tempo
Sort of wished they let him loose more on the new record. At least we'll get to experience more live!
This is where Anthony excels. Half rap half singing.
Incredible! Hard to believe Anthony started singing for the band on a whim. Such luck these four found each other and made it through the dirt.
He excels in all now. He has turned himself into one of the great singers

John’s guitar solos just take the song to another level. Wow!!!
I've heard people say they prefer studio recordings of songs over live performances by the bands themselves, and I always thought it was crazy talk. Like solo much?
Both of them

Drums are the star of this one though...tight!
best solos his played since comin back

have you heard Under the bridge?
@@deepdivemusicreactions yes. It was great at well. While listening to it I am always reminded that The Howard Stern show has the best sound production out of any show. Also I noticed how shiny Flea’s bass and bass strings are

The Absolute Power of The Fender Stratocaster when placed in the correct hands....

This is their best performance of Give It Away. What a jaw-dropping rendition of this song.

The chemistry of this four is unbelievable

They're a funk band, not rnr.
True.🤘
The fact that Anthony smelled his armpit after he removed his shirt before ending the song

Frusciante is out of this world. Such an underrated guitarist.
My personal favorite
Did John rejoin? I thought Josh Klinghoffer was the current recruit.
@@jordanhasch2544 No not anymore, they kicked Josh and got John back in late 2019. So the 2 latest albums are Frusciante
How is he underrated?
Not underrated at all. Why? People use that word way too often....
As human beings we watch all the things we like disappear as we get older. There's something so comforting about seeing Flea play bass and jump around. It's a thing you remember from being a kid and here it is, still the same. That guy makes me happy. Frusciante is on fire too.

Dozens of years on tour, and this performance at the Howard today for me is the most perfect, from the first second. This band has insane stage presence!
Every f*cking sound from the start of the song sounds amazing
Saw in the forum March 2024, the was lit people are all standing the concert👏👏👏
I don’t think there’s any doubt that John pushes Chad, Anthony, and Flea to another level! 🤯
It's a band, they inspire each other, only fans think like you.
Copy and paste much?
Flea’s energy is unmatched
exactly what I just thought. How can he pull this off after all these years. Must be passion ;)
He's the proof that there's no excuse for getting boring onstage with age.
Flea is like Angus Young of AC/DC
We need to find a way to harness his energy and global warming would stop overnight
Jesus christ, these guys are ageless. The amount of energy and passion they bring to every show, no matter how little, is 2nd to none! Even Howard was in awe. Just bad ass!
probably played it 7 million times but they still bring it. sounded so good.
One of the best versions of this song I've ever heard.
Yep, also cause they've been bottled up the last few years unable to perform to the masses via Howard Stern show.
I don't think they've ever sounded this good live
Unfucking believable. In a studio with a handful of people to play for, they brought it.
If not THE best..
With no audience in the room, they completely blew the roof off the place. Love these guys.
4:15 Just Flea adding some Bob Marley “Them Belly Full” bassline to the bridge part. Insanely talented.
I remember one time I picked my daughter up from school when she was in 3rd grade. Her teacher asked to see me after school because she had some concerns about some things my daughter was saying in class during times they were supposed to be quietly reading. My daughter and I sat down with her teacher and she began to explain what the issue was. Apparently my daughter was quietly whispering the lyrics "what I got you gotta get it put it in you" while she would be reading or drawing. The teacher began to explain how inappropriate that was and that she shouldn't be saying that at such a young age and how I need to monitor what she watches and listens to etc. While she continues to ramble on I just quietly turned to my daughter, with arm extended and fist closed tight she proceeded to give me the most epic fist bump. God I love being a dad!
I did a similar thing with my grandson.
Man they sound incredible live 😍 Great mix by Howard’s crew too.

I couldn't imagine back in 1992 I would see the Peppers 30 years later performing at the same level. Coolness
Their energy is timeless.
Flea is just a monster!! What a bass line!!!
Absolutely one of the best Give It Away ever!!!!!!!!!!
It definitely sounds like one of the best yeah. When you think John nails it so hard... Anthony even takes that energy to the next level. Wow.
Man here’s four dudes who are still at the top of their game. All of them are incredible at their respective instrument, it’s like having four all-stars on one team.
The dream team for sure
100% Perfect Mix. Never saw a band sounding so good at a Live TV/Radio concert.
So damn tight, like John never left. Flea, Anthony, and Chad are pushing 60, and still bring the energy!! Truly impressive and I’m even more excited to see them on tour this summer!
Love Chad's nod to Taylor on his bass drum.....RIP Taylor, Hillel Slovak, and Jack Sherman.
Anthony has one of the most beautiful natural voice color, sometimes the tecnique is bad but the color of his voice is UNIQUE
I agree. People either love it or they hate it, but it is instantly recognizable and unmistakably him. Having a voice that unique is arguably just as important as the technique behind it, especially for a funk-rock band.
@@400_billion_suns you'made my point i totally agree with you
Absolutely agree with you
@@400_billion_suns it more importan than technique
Agreed. The best voices are the distinctive voices. The more time you spend in vocal coaching with someone driving out all the things that make you unique, the less memorable you become.
What an incredible amount of energy just to do a small studio show for a few people. That’s why they’ve the best
John is wow in this..the end part was so nice, funky & melodic 👌
Anthony checking his armpit odor at 4:19 is the most ordinary thing you can see in this vid
At their age, this performance is INCREDIBLE! Long live RHCP.
I'm 60, I'll go up agains any 20 year old anyday. Some things take a long time to slow down. Musicians generally tick for a long time
The best give it away performance ever John’s solos 🔥🔥🔥
Only band I have to see every time they come to town. Love me some Chili's
Just look at John Frusciante, so chill, so cozy... look at that drip too. Damn, it feels good seeing him back to where he truly belongs!
Him being clean puts him another level up from where he all ready was. Totally dope parts. He's not out to impress. He's out there simply to play.

The most energetic 60 year olds I've ever seen. Amazing 🤟🏼🤟🏼
This never gets old. These riffs are so legendary!
My gosh!! So ridiculously good!! I’m speechless….
Anthony’s vocals sound great
That song never gets old, ever! Chad, being the absolute fucking legendary drummer that he is, paying tribute to Taylor Hawkins on his kit. RHCP one of the best rock bands of all time.

This is what the true love of music keeps giving....power, beauty,energy,joy...These boys are a treasure.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
every serious bassist, drummer, and musician in general can learn the importance of grooving as one rhythm section. RHCP amazing, never gets old
Groove. Feel. Flow. Pocket.
I’m just so freakin’ glad that John Frusciante is back. I had nothing against Josh Klinghoffer, but John is… well, just that. His Jimi Hendrix/James Brown influence defines the RHCP’s sound.
I’ll never get the nothing against josh thing.... he wasn’t a good fit for the band. Those two albums are pretty bad. Doesn’t mean he’s a bad guitarist just wasn’t a good fit. Had he been there at the start they may have never been where they are now. Just facts.
I like the way John is really reserved compared to the other 3 but the band just absorbs it. They dont try to change the guy. Everyone is themselves in rhcp. A really raw and genuine band for sure. I hope John stays till they retire.
Yup, match made in GNARLY FRICKIN HEAVEN!!!
Me too. Nothing against Klinghoffer but his spastic moves onstage were annoying as fuck after a while. He looked like he was having convulsions.
his understanding of space with flea is incredible. james brown funk and when he lets loose jimi style. if i could play like one "modern" guitarist its John 100%
Es triste pensar que quizá nosotros seamos la última generación qué verá estas grandes bandas...😢

Incredible performance! Hard to believe it’s been over 30 years since they wrote this, but they still perform it like it was yesterday.
I truly don’t understand how anyone could dislike this. It’s like a fucking explosion of energy. John’s second solo is fucking insane and the amount of improvising from Flea and Chad going nuts. It’s just pure love and energy.
Thank you Howard for hosting them. My fave interview/ performance of the year. ❤️😻🌈✌️
Thank Goodness, they are still in touch with the music! Whewwwwwwwwwww

The mark of a great band- how they sound live. No auto-tune, no recorded playback, just pure, real artistry. One of the reasons I love NYC jazz clubs; you can't fake it.
there is definitely a little auto tune on the vocals... but that's fine, everyone does that these days. Sorry to ruin it for you ;) They do play and sound awesome though. Can't wait to see them in two months

Frusciante's sound and execution on this one is the most accurate I have ever seen. And I have seen A LOT of versions.
He plays much better when he is, let's just say, not so much under the influence. This was taped during the day and they all seemed to be bright eyed and bushy tailed.. Especially, Flea(Michael Peter Balzary). Ever heard him play trumpet? Australian born.
