    As an OSRS player, this is a total disaster

      As an RS3 player the update has largely been seen as an improvement to the activity and people like Chev are basically just being drama queens. Well trim players anyway but they bitch about every time something new is added, most tune them out. The vibe in the game is great. Even now you can see where meaningful discussion is taking place there is a pretty heavily debate going on.

      @Hirokey123 As an OSRS AND RS3 player, if you enjoy the star rework, that's 100% fine, but in Oldschool Runescape, Shooting Stars is amazing, there's a lot of rewards compared to essentially removing POH functionality further (last reason people used POH was the telescope since we do not have an alternative until the update), increasing the mining boost that should've been set to one hour regardless, and two cosmetic stuff that does not impact much gameplay. Granted, OSRS also has cosmetics but since it's the BiS mining cosmetic set, getting the Golden variant feels rewarding than another pet that you must get a week or maybe two if you're busy, RS3 already has a ton of pets and I don't see myself or many use the Star Sprite as a cosmetic override nor the title. But I see a lot of OSRS players using the Golden Star Mining set, and most definitely using the Mining Ring that the minigame rewards you.

    It's easy to not miss the stars. They come at the same time intervals between landings. Just join the Starfind FC and ask for the callouts. In my 1st run last night I was able to go to a crash at Tuska to get the Starstruck title, (it only has 2 landing spots, so 50/50 chance to get hit by the rock). 3 minutes later, I world-hopped to a size 10 rock that dropped in Anachronia. It took about 40 minutes for us to mine, and I got around 1,050 stardust. If you use the daily D&D token, you can do six rocks a day, so if you only do tier 10s, that's around 6300 stardust per day if you use a D&D token.
    I don't really care if it's dead content after getting Trim comp reqs. So is 90% of the other stuff in game.

      @williamadams5471 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Also, even if it does become dead content you can now do the stars solo. That means that future trimmed comp seekers won't have to go around begging from friends and clanmates to do dead content with them to meet the star requirements.

    My biggest issue with RS3 will always be how wildly inconsistent the graphics are, seeing you go around in this video you can see just how many dated graphics styles there are throughout the game both environment wise as well as gear/cosmetics.

      This ^^^ But veteran players expect the devs to work on fucking new content they'll play through in hours like new quests before adressing issues that could bring the game back to life.

    This is a significant improvement from what it was, but everything else is so great that its still bad in comparison. You can already get like 4+ hours of 5 clicks per hour afk time on a single inventory with an unupgraded GOTE and most of an inventory of max tier porters to recharge it, Seren stones and Salt crabs mean Shooting stars have no place for afk mining training, so really this is just a big buff to the daily rewards it gives, as a mining support tool for the double ores chance and Cosmic runes/gems.

    Update sucks. Whoever designed this didn't put hardly any thought into it. 3 daily cap but there's no limit on dust? That is a limit lmao. 3 daily yet only give us 1 tele? Also all the rewards suck. Just a haphazard lame ass update.
    Stars should be infinitely mined since they require chasing.

      @Trade4Lewt 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      In osrs its infinite too, rs3 is supposed to be the easier game of the two but somehoe they think time gating that shit at 3 a day is a good idea

    The xp rate for t10-7 star layers are really strong so not sure if it will ever "die off" per say. Less people will do it for sure but that's the way its always been. Kinda wish there was always a star active tho that would be nice to be able to knock out the daily stars really fast after reset.

    I think this update is great for Ironmen are people that arent maxed in mining. As the boost you gain from it as well as the xp is really good. Its not content aimed for max players except for the trim req.

  • @zeldapro18
    @zeldapro18 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I could imagine the double ore boost for an hour is pretty nice. Added to the other boosts that's like a 54% chance for 2x ores for an hour.

    You're telling me Jagex have released an update thats useless content on day 1?
    The last 5 updates have been exactly that, including woodcutting, fletching, firemaking, mining and smithing.

      @itsgamingtime9578 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      When you consider everything beside bosses useless yes

    • @Past_Worlds
      @Past_Worlds 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @itsgamingtime9578 no, just logically the content that they have been releasing with the new skill provides nothing but boosted experience to reach the new skill cap and that is it. There is no meaningful content that is used outside of gaining xp. When have you seen anyone at all use primal for anything other than for xp to reach the new skill cap?

    • @zeldapro18
      @zeldapro18 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Past_Worlds It provides a reward space instead of just squishing everything from 1-99. They are 110 updates not 120, a "halfway point". I may be just glossing of them but have those particular skills be useful in a big way? Mining and Smithing has always been every 10 levels mine and smith a new ore into a metal bar. Same pattern for the other skills. Not everyone are nerds like us and even max or comp. I'm just said I'm max xp and no real reason to do any of the 110s besides comp/trim reqs.

    • @Past_Worlds
      @Past_Worlds 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @zeldapro18 but they do not provide any meaningful content besides boosted xp rates to reach the new skill cap and that is it. The content does not need to exist and neither do 110 skills. Without them, nothing is being lost. With them, nothing is gained. They are redundant from the get go. It is just a ploy to keep compers like us playing. Nothing more. It's called FOMO and jagex use it perfectly to stop the game dying any quicker than it already is.

    So from a person who is a completionist or aiming for that I understand your take where it just feels like a constant daily that you have to maintain until you get enough Stardust to complete the reward shop and achievements and then you'll probably never interact with the DnD.
    Now as someone who did Shooting Stars periodically from over the years on and off in RuneScape 3. I have to say they did it the right way because we already have enough methods to AFK mining already, like you mentioned where people can sit at Prif for hours on end or sit with a whole bunch of boosts and afk mine most rocks too. If they didn't have a cap, people would do what they always do which is AFK mine this activity and the content wouldn't be considered as a Distraction and just finish it in a few days. The intent is that hey, if you do this activity then you'll get a few boosts/rewards that will help you for your mining content if you're chasing for a certain mining goal but it periodically happens so you want to sort of pay attention.
    It basically acts as a break from someone who would be mining Prif AFK where you have a Shooting Star spawn, get some good experience along with boosts and then go back to Mining where you were originally with some additional boosts.
    The intent wasn't to make a permanent new method to gain another AFK method to train but rather act as an option that hey if you are mining you might want to be on the look out for stars so you get some easy boosts which also acts as a mini social hub.
    Not to mention the currency immediately teleports you to the new telescope location which just makes it quite quick to find out where is a star is. Realistically for non trim folks, you would try to find a small star that will Tubby and then get the boosts and then go back to mining with the best method they have access to which is what the DnD served as for the last decade and a half. The other method was you went Shooting Star spotting which just gave chunks of experience so if you were not wanting to train Mining you would wait for when all the stars would spawn and then just spot the star to get chunks of exp without even mining and just world hopping and teleporting around. This use to be best mining experience method even post Mining/Smithing rework since you could get insane amounts of experience to jump up one of the most annoying skills to train.

    it being on a long scheduled rotation that's very easy to miss and with only 1 teleport per day with outfit + additional teleports being so disgustingly expensive; I absolutely hate this update, and any trimmer is going to be forced to engage with this crap content.

    I think theyve just added another pointless chore to trimmed. The XP seems ok but whoever has trimmed already doesnt have 120 mining? Seems to me just pointless and its a chore.

      That's the point of Comp and Trim though, it's never finished for long. For me it keeps me in the game. I can't gain xp for my account. Also not all people go for max.
