    some of Jerry's most truly inspired, soulful and incredibly moving jamming can be found in the fall of 1983. With the grateful dead, there were a number of shows on the fall shows that are absolutely scorching. JGB is consistently strong throughout 1983.

      So true! Many have claimed that Garcia's appearance in 83 revealed his poor "health" at that time. Perhaps he was indeed unwell and suffering, but his playing was often sublime and finding awesome new emotional spaces. Paradox?

    We saw the two JGB shows the night before in Boston (early and late)…then drove in a blizzard ALL DAY to Stonybrook for this awesome show. 🚙❤❤❤❤❤❤️❤️❤️🚙

    JGB in 83, what joy to hear. Jerry was a master in control of his game then. I was 13 then and would see my first date show that September. But listening to the JGB in all of 83 shows how composed and poised Jerry was to play phenomenally. He wasn't out to impress anybody but himself, that's what I love about JGB in 83
