Congrats man. I was lease up untill beginning of August this year. Started leasing January 1st 2018 2015 freightliner with 324,000 miles on it. Making good money running OTR for mileage pay but when the truck got 600,000 mi. Beginning of 2020 major issues started going on tried to stick with it up until June of this year truck hit 766,000 transmission went out parts and labor 21,000 and that's what I had left to pay on it so I gave it up, got into another lease 2019 but between owings and truck payment and expenses I couldn't afford to lease any more, so I went over to Variant. Really good company, so far I am very pleased with them,60 cents a mile and good miles a very driver oriented company with good perks.Started with USX March of 2013 5 years company and 3 and a half lease.
Congratulations on the newborn!!! Glad to see you've made it this far with USX! I have a good friend that runs teams as company driver over there, been there for about 9 years now I think! Take it easy brother!
They drained my maintenance reserve on unnecessary tows , for service I wrote up 3 times towed twice for the same issue . Towed my truck to a shop open 6 days 7-6 instead of Freightliner that was open 24/7. Was recently charged 1200 to detach transmission and look at it at that dealer . I’ve been on the LP for 3 years now . Even told me “ do you want to turn that truck in and lose everything you’ve paid on that truck and start over with a new lease “ I guess they do this to certain drivers .
Just came on here to say to someone that needs to read this, save some money, put down on a $25k truck. Lease on with the many smaller companies out there for 80% of spot market price which is average $2.80 a mile.... And truck payments of like $900 a month vs 600 a week...or lease purchase a $90k truck that you'll be running at $1 a mile which will have close to 1,000,000 miles when it's paid off 🤣 and will need a engine over haul... I just felt the need to share... I'm netting average $4k to $5k a week.. Choose my own loads and go home whenever the fu** I want to 😊 The choice is always yours...
@Marty Yo no where right now, gotta wait for the truck market to get back right if you looking for something 25k just stack ya money uo so as those prices start falling you seize the oppurtunity.
I was worried about about you family 7 months ant shit just keep doing you they won't F you over unless you do something 💯stay safe looking for to the pink slip video ✌
Hi my name is Jimmy I paid my Usxpress lease purchase off about a year ago and your 5 thousand that they take out is your money to take out if you decide to pay off early and also I know another driver that pd his truck off also, I worked there three years and my experience was a good one, I done the dollar general account and it paid off for me.
I got 19k total payout left on mines.. They add the 5k bond it with the total payout so I actually have 14k left. I saved up a lot of my money so I gotta get 4 thousand more & im just gonna pay mines on off.. You should make a detailed video about the percentage pay.. But anyway stay safe driver
Don't do it for anything less than 80% of spot market price which is around $2.80 a mile average for dry van. Basically dont lease purchase. Put like $5k down on a $25k truck and lease on to sooooo many companies out there with just 1 year experience.. Save your stress, take home like over $4k a week choose your own loads and hometime....
I'm Variant...I've done us xpress lease as well. Sad thing...I make as much as a company driver for Variant as I did on a lease. As far as us taking loads...please take them back. I'm averaging about 350 miles a load. Oh and us xpress lease is horrible. Old equipment. Jimmy rigged fixes. Little to no control over the truck. A dollar a mile when company pays 60 cents. No extras like a fridge...apu...etc. idk why anyone would do a lease with usx. Grats to you for getting as far as you have. 👏
I get paid percentage and At 60 cents a mile you're a long way from what I make on lease now! My truck is nowhere near our of date and definitely not jimmy rigged! That's just not true. And we do it, because we want to own our trucks. If you make the same amount as a company driver as you did on lease, then why not just lease? At least then you would own the truck in a couple years instead of just being an employee in the same amount of time making the same amount of money🤣. Your obviously salty that you didn't make it as an independent trucker.
@@RobertCookdarkarts ok for one..not salty so don't get defensive. As far as out of date..when I did my lease about a year ago I was offered a choice of about 5 trucks. All had over 200k miles. Most over 250k. The one I chose was 230k. All had damage that was either not fixed or was Jimmy rigged. For instance the bottom panel in the front of my trucks was attached with a couple screws just drilled thru. I was told nothing on the trucks will be fixed unless it's a dot issue. So yes..the trucks they offer are sub par. As far as pay you stated you get a percentage..but is that for running certain routes or some form of dedicated...or is that all lps. Cause last I heard it was still a dollar a mile. Again I congratulate you for having that finish line in sight...but there are much better lease purchase programs out there...and usx needs to update theirs. Especially with the advent of variant bringing up their company pay and truck quality. Personally I hope they add lp to variant so we can lease our variant trucks that we may have been running since new and know how they have been handled. And I'd like to see them switch to a percentage to all lease drivers...along with more control over the truck and load selection.
200k miles isn't a lot for a rig, at all that's 2 years worth of miles for a solo truck. If your wanting a brand new truck go to a dealer or be a company driver. Of course they aren't leasing brand new trucks with 0 miles on them they are not a dealership. That's just common sense. They give you an inspection sheet when you pick out a truck and let you indicate anything you want repaired before you accept the truck. If someone told you no about something then you got played son. And no there are not any better lease programs with zero down and walkway options.!. But the grass is always greener on the other side for some people I guess.
@@RobertCookdarkarts the sheet you fill out when your assigned your truck is NOT to get things fixed. It's to mark down all the issues so when or if you do walk away that you don't get charged for those issues. Also there are plenty of companies who offer new truck leases. You'd have to look that up because there are quite a few. Also as far as getting things fixed...ask them to fix a dent...scrape...panel that's been held on with rivets...they won't. Heck even offer to buy a better inverter...they won't let you. And of course you also fail to bring up the lack of added luxuries to any of these trucks. No refrigerators. No offer to have fridges put in that are made for the trucks. Low power inverters...not even apus..lol. Again it's great that you made it that far with the lease and I want usx lease to be better. Heck I work here for a reason..lol. They just lack in so many areas and that's not opinion. It's fact.
It's 100 percent you get anything fixed before you accept the truck, I've had 2 with them and did have a several things fixed before I signed the contract. You got pushed around it sounds like. And no, I mention the truck has no refrigerator and several other things in my tour videos. It's been years ago but I know I did. So your complaint is 230k miles is too much and no refrigerator? The panel thing didn't make sense to me, because I would of had that repaired or turned the truck down. But they repaired everything I requested. Also like I said, there are no other lease that offer 0 down and walk away that is better. You can obviously get better lease programs at dealerships and some other companies but you will pay a down payment and will not be able to walk away and it will be base on credit.
I work for us x. Put in for the lp. My dispatcher told me to think about it really hard. Bc it's hard to make money and hm time. What kinda hm time do you get
Ohh, central transport. It was a dedicated tour from Texas to Memphis Tennessee. The money was amazing, the route was decent but the trailers were horrible. I did enjoy that account.

Hey! Glad to see you again! Congrats on birth of your son!
Thank you
Did you finish man? Channel is pretty stagnant as of late. Would love to see a update.
Aaannnnnd hes gone!!! Lol
Percentage pay should be standard for L/P and lease drivers...
Good to see you. Congrats on the birth of son.

Hi
Robert cook trucking chronicles. Exciting content. Good to use it?
Any update on the lease? Have they fired you?
67% man your good there’s no way I would do that.
How about benefits? Like repairs and maintenance? Do they give you some type of percentage discount?
So have you paid the truck off yet ?

I also going to use bond and maintenance to pay my last payments. I've been trying to structure a video saying percentage.
@@RobertCookdarkarts ther was a video from another driver saying they wouldnt let him use his maintenance account to pay it off
Nice, take that truck to landstar when its yours 😉 $$$$$$
How long you had your truck for
Did you pay off your truck?
So did you get fired lol
So did you pay the truck off yet
have you ever trained students as an independent contractor? If so can you share some insight?
