For some reason it is really hard to say the word "Wuthering". Maybe cause I grew up in Jersey? My husband works at a lumber mill and they throw the pallets on the "free scrap" pile
to help the cushions stay and not shift around you can attach velcro strips to the pallets and to the underside of the cushions!
mack freed adding ties to the cushions and tying them around the pallet slats might be a little more weather resistant and hold up longer but good idea!
Even with them being 'weather resistant' i'd still bring them in each time if it was me.

You should add a back so it can be a 2 person porch swing (plus your little pillows won't fall off) and a bed you can lean your back against for support when you lay down. I love it though! I always wanted to do a trampoline bed hanging from a tree with lace all around it to keep the bugs out. Maybe a mosquito net covered with lace to make it pretty.
