I have a distinct memory, as if it happened a couple of days ago, with this game. So it was April of 1994, I was 17 at the time, and myself and my cousin Chris, who was around 19 at this time, were playing hockey in the house and were blaring Nailbomb's Point Blank album. And I'm talking woofers out window just pounding Sum of your Achievements from that album. So anyway, we were also playing this game, on the Snow level, almost at the wolf boss when a bologna sandwich flies through the window and hits my Nintendo, resetting the game! It was my neighbor who was eating lunch outside and couldn't take the music I assume and just chucked his sandwich at the window next to my TV. Haha I just wanted to share that with whomever. It was very funny.
Hahaha good grief I forgot about the bouncing snowmen with homing missle rocket launchers!! Then the giant robot commando chicken. This game was even more weird than most TMNT games.
You know, every one of these runs starts with Arcus being humble and stressing that he probably won't do a new PB or record - and ends with him doing just that while making it look like the most chill, easy thing in the world.
Call me crazy, but I actually prefer the first TMNT for the NES over this. The graphics look like they're right out of the cartoon, but beat 'em ups wear on me quickly. The non-linear, adventure-exploration style of the first one was just a lot more enjoyable for me. If the game just hadn't been so clunky and unnecessarily difficult in places. Oh, and Leo has always been my favorite, too!
Yep, buddy, the first game is the best on my opinion. And my first game on nes)) music, difficulty, strange flying thing as enemy)) all in this game is too fun and cool!
I loved the shit out of this game as a kid, and seeing you play it Arcus...makes it all the worthwhile. I beat the shit out of this game at least a hundred times as a kid! The speed....you have...
This is exactly how I remember this game. A+B everything as soon as it appears, and don't lose the rythmn on the bosses. Only real challenge is the final boss. You should be as aggressive as possible with the foot soldiers, it actually makes them easier.
The ninja hideout had the best music ever in this series. I would love to see this game get updated properly with this soundtrack left alone honestly. Great job on the run
I don't know but there is something funny to see you playing, you are always talking nonsense things, singing the game songs... is funny and weird to watch.
Nice run! You should go for the 32 in this game! Frank and I pushed this game down into the 31’s. Also, Famicom version is a lot faster and easier to run too. Thanks for playing this game!
José Jorge Matute this game actually uses a very simple HP system for the enemies. A standard strike does 2 HP of damage, the jump kick does 3, and the Special Attack does 4. A standard Foot Soldier has 4 HP, so you can one-shot then with the Special. Shredder has something like 176 HP, while his clones only have 16.
Pizza Hut and Burger King did TMNT promos back in the day. If I remember right, if you read a few books and had a thing from school, you could get a special episode on VHS at Pizza Hut, so its funny to see their logos in such an old game. I think it was called Book It!
In elementary school when I would get honor roll I would get a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut & a free video game rental from our local video store from the school. Those Fridays were always great cause I'd get my pizza, my nes game for the weekend and would get 2 bucks to play this TMNT arcade game waiting for me and my parents pizzas....good times
nvm I know understand this is the non-american version of the game and was done due to america having rental stores, also the ladies leg on stage 2 is smaller
You kill'em like in the arcade, punching the 2 buttons at the same time. I had a friend who killed them flawlessly, just like you, but in a way I can't remember
Wow who would have thought that Raphael, the turtle with the shortest weapon would have the longest reach in this game. I always ended up picking Donatello because I just assumed his was the longest. Obviously if you played tmnt 1 on the NES you know Donatello was the best turtle. I guess I just kept playing as him.
@@Dorelaxen I don't know if he's the best overall but definitely the best on tmnt 1 on the NES. I think the turtles by design in all incarnations are equally important to the team and that's why they function so well together. Each one of them brings something different to the table.
I agree with ya on Raphael being the best turtle. In these games because his weapon doesnt have the "reach" like the other turtles they made Raph a bull in the power department. His strikes are like he is sooped up on steroids
You should do Metal Gear or Pitfall. Like to see some older classics. Not saying these aren't classics. But seeing some other big name classics. Just something to think about. But love the videos you are killin it!! Much respect
The amount of content that developers crammed into these 8 bit systems is really commendable!
Impressive to see him speedrunning a game without having to pause to check on his oil fields.
Brilliant
Why he doesn't shot his pistol thru roof when dun?
@@aprilk141 and why didnt he yell yeehaw!?
What's truly impressive is that he runs his oil fields AAAAAND can speedrun so many games at a high level
Lmao his cowboy hat really did fool you
He was a speed runner before the hat
AKA - the most chill guy in the world press A and B at the same time for 37 minutes
Super chill
100% accurate

@@TG-kt9vg Lol dude you know you hit my pal in his Paul Bunyons right?
Sandwich Loss.
Nailbomb, that's some good Cavalera
I think this is the best bologna sandwich story I've ever heard.
Cool story 🥱 🥱 🥱
Nice run. This game was cutting edge for it's time. I remember playing this for hours and hours when I was a kid.
It was a good port
It really was. The gameplay was so simplistic, but kept you engaged every time you played it.
I think I dumped about 40 bucks into it at the arcade when it first came out.
The 4 player wide cabinet version was awesome.
Your nes speedruns are really impressive
And he’s always relaxed doing these speed-runs while other speed-runners are always at the edge of their seats yelling at these hard games. Lol
Every time I watch this man's videos my mustache grows. For every clunk my mustache dances. What is this cowboy sorcery?
The thumb down was from the foot clan 🤣🤣🤣
Imagine playing Co-op with Arcus.
it'd have to be the most chill co-op game ever. There's no way anyone would get tilted while playing with Arcus.
@dippydog21 Now you go back to being gay.
But can you mush mush mush?
More like get the hell out of his way
Hahaha good grief I forgot about the bouncing snowmen with homing missle rocket launchers!!
Then the giant robot commando chicken. This game was even more weird than most TMNT games.
38:50 - He-Man is digging that credits music, damn.
You know, every one of these runs starts with Arcus being humble and stressing that he probably won't do a new PB or record - and ends with him doing just that while making it look like the most chill, easy thing in the world.
You picked Raphael. You're even more awesome now.
This and double dragon 3 were my fave co-op nes titles 😍😍😍
This game is my childhood. I love it so much.
whenever that shredder theme starts playing me and my friend would look at each other in fear.

Absolutely the first TMNT was the best. The adventure alone.
As a kid, I preferred this and the third game. As an adult, I prefer the first.
Yep, buddy, the first game is the best on my opinion. And my first game on nes)) music, difficulty, strange flying thing as enemy)) all in this game is too fun and cool!
My problem with 1 was also the difficulty. My cousins and I would just get owned so bad. But Turtles in Time? THAT is a game I dominated.
@@MadMatikus Never played that one, and again, it didn't interest me much because it was a beat 'em up.
i love the hyper stone heist, it dont get no better for a turtle game.
OMG , my childhood back again, just love this game annnnd clonck.
I still love this game. Nicely played!
I always thought the different colors of foot clan were cool. Still do!

As a kid, when I would kill three in one hit, i would always say in my best raph voice, “Triple Play!”
Usually, no one wanted to use Raphael
Man, imagine looking out your window in the city and seeing a turtle/human hybrid beating the shit out of people
The days when you didn’t have to worry about buying a game and it doesn’t work when you get home to play it!! 😂
Still impressed with what the nes was capable of this game looks good.
The ninja hideout had the best music ever in this series. I would love to see this game get updated properly with this soundtrack left alone honestly. Great job on the run
Aand clunk. That's a good clunk.
Awesome thanks for playing my childhood games! Keep up the good work!

BIG DONGS
" this games too easy....these guys are tough " 🤣
Very nice. Inpressive. Now let's see you do it without April's support.
Oops wrong game.
I clocked this on arcade once took me ages and alot of money
Me too I was age 9 and beat it at the state fair but with around 40$ in coins 😂
Noticed you're playing the USA Version. The Japanese version is very easy, one kick kill to all enemies. Great run.
20:33 Thanks For Explaining That Number Of Lemons Thingy. :3
He sounds like kip off of Napolean Dynamite!
And he looks like Doc Holliday.
This game used to give my thumb a blister everytime I played because of the constant pressing of both buttons, and I never defeated Shredder
I got him in 2 player with my cousin but never solo. Krangs a show stopper solo
Sector-Z and Starforce were some of my fav NES games.
Snow Bros, Felix the cat and Tmnt tournament fighters 🙃
This game was one of my all time fav! Impressive your playing.
Arcus: Annnndddd clonk
TMNT: Hey watch it! You're ruining our finish!
Dude this was fun to watch!
I always felt Donatello had the furthest reach when playing. With Michelangelo a close second.
Nice run! You should go for the 32 in this game! Frank and I pushed this game down into the 31’s. Also, Famicom version is a lot faster and easier to run too. Thanks for playing this game!
Is there a reason why Rocksteady was in black and white? I always thought that was bizarre as a kid
Jump kicking is hard, man. I just tried it and messed myself all up
Im amazed at those NES speed runs that lasts longer than 15mins.
I counted 66 hits on Shredder, it could´ve been more, I kind of lost count. Wow I like your speedruns! Thanks for them.
José Jorge Matute this game actually uses a very simple HP system for the enemies. A standard strike does 2 HP of damage, the jump kick does 3, and the Special Attack does 4.

Best turtles game! Had this when I was a kid.
Who's the greatest speedrunner ever, and why is it Arcus?
I remember finding a lot of Nes Game Roms that were awesome 😎 but not released in the USA!
He looks like Rivers Cuomo on the red album.
The Bob Ross of speed runners. Aaaand there's a happy little clunk there.

Aaaah the memories ,,, love this game
This was the first game I beat start to finish. I remember my eyes burning so bad after the last level.
HI I am from Brazil. Good old rio Fuxking chaos Janeiro!!! And I simply love this game. PLAYED IT SEVERAL HOURS during my child hood
Do you shave before you shoot a video, or do you shave everyday?
Mr-Nice-Guy j they come from his twitch streams.
Great video to start and prep for the day!-) Time to go to work. Peace.
Nice run, I use to stay on this game when I was a kid.
I really was hoping for a snes port back in the days.
One of my fav games!
What is the trick to have the double attack jump, a+b, not take away a life from doing it?
nvm I know understand this is the non-american version of the game and was done due to america having rental stores, also the ladies leg on stage 2 is smaller
Technodrome music allways got me so hype.
I always liked this version over the arcade version due to the sound track and extra stages on the nes
Man you are the best and fun too watch.. andddd clunk....
Can you do a speedrun mega man 2
You kill'em like in the arcade, punching the 2 buttons at the same time. I had a friend who killed them flawlessly, just like you, but in a way I can't remember
Remember buying this game when it first came out. I was 9 at the time and I can remember this at retail was $70. I saved 2 months to buy.
ah, memories, rented this game all the time:) is Ralph faster ? i always chose Leo.
Raph has a 4 pixel extra reach so the stunt locks are way easier.
Why does the character with the shortest weapon have the longest reach? 😅
@@MrJoshdavis99 Overcompensating
I could never beat this game legit as a kid. I'd make it to Shredder, but could never beat him. Nicely done!
I'm gonna start saying everytime I clock out to go home "aaaand clunk"

Raphs strikes in these NES turtle games are no stronger than the other turtles. In TMNT 2 and 3 for the NES all turtles stroking power are identical.
Krang is jbl from WWE lol that boot serious
Napoleon Dynamite's brother.. the resemblance and demeanor is uncanny
I like the silent but determine "Stop it".
You should do Double Dragon Homie! My favorite NES game of all time. Abobo Crush you!
i hope your better at this now
I remember getting this game back in the day for being a brave boy my first day of kindergarten 😂
Почему за удар которым он бьёт не снимают 1 деление жизни, кажется на оригинальной денди было по другому
Nice run Arcus.
When did Shredder into emperor palpatine?
Wtf with the huge cars?
2 questions. Why jump attack and why Ralph?
can't explain it but I'm suddenly hungry for pizza hut
Play any Genesis games Arc?
