MTBing in HK sure has come a long way in the last 20 years. This is a major success story for how interested parties working together, private and public, can accomplish big things in the mounting biking community . It was a pleasure and honor to be a part of this process. And like anything of value there are so many dedicated souls who gave their blood, sweat and tears to make HK the riding destination it is today. Shout out to all my mates , past and present, involved in The Hong Kong Mountain Bike Association (HKMBA).
Thanks Bob, years and years of blood sweat and tears went into it from yourself and everybody at HKMBA. We truly would not be here without you guys..Thank you.
Hans has the best mtb channel out there but not enough content. These transurban trips are the best. Hans you need to continue to do these like transurban Russia, England, France, Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Houston, San Antonio, New York etc. it would be great!!! Great jobs Hans the legend!!!!
Thank you so much for experiencing trails in Hong Kong and recording the epic changes here. God bless the world and the people fighting for freedom and justice.
Amazing documentary on bikes!! Great shots and cinematography! TH-cam needs to push your video more to get it out there to people!! Keep this style coming!!
Absolutely an amazing documentary (and your skills) of MTBing in HK. Much joy to watch as a HK local that used to ride MTB every few days back then. Also glad to see there’re some vlogging/travel things there which brings stories/changes of Hong Kong to the audience.
Man I wish I could have met Hans. I have been following him since I got my first MTB a GT Karakoram back in 1990. My brother still rides it. I have lived in HK for more than 10 years now. I now live on Lamma and recognized some of the people he rode past. Stay safe everyone and keep good hygiene in this pandemic times. Love to you all we are all in this together.
Sorry for letting you guys experienced the chaos of Hong Kong. We just fighting for the freedom we deserve. Hope you understand that and hope you enjoyed the time in Hong Kong. BTW, this video is really incredible. Well done.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Its kind of anarchy imo. Good luck with citizen struggle against one of world super powers. Two systems are ending in 2049 or so. In my opinion, this kind of anarchy protests are really hurting economy of Hong Kong and Shenzhen is on its way to be super Hong Kong, which is benefical for China. I was there in November and the anarchy and chaos wasnt really good experience and you are not gonna win, thats a fact.
For your interest, the video is filmed in early November, right before the siege of Polytechnic University. The news ticket banner at 17:25 showed the date (Nov 11)
Thank you for the great video!!! Covers nearly all of the iconic trails and tourist hotspots. Shame that our city is currently in a mess now, hopefully things will get better soon! And a friendly reminder to tourist bikers: the front wheel has to be taken off while you're in the MTR (tube/underground), so consider bringing a caliper stop for your hydraulic brakes. (A local hack would be zip ties and a 5 dollar coin)
blown away with this film, outstanding work from hans and his team, every shot was stunning, especially in 4k, totally opened my eyes as to how diverse, and large HK is, as well as not shying away from commentating on the difficult situation there right now, what got me though was the tracking shots, the skill levels on that terrain was incredible, this now ranks as my number one mtb destination film, outstanding work sir.
I used to live in discovery bay, on Lantau island. That is where I first started to Mountainbike, just riding with some friend on a 3 by 9, shit hardtail with 600 mm wide bars. I do miss that place and I get a lot of nostalgia coming over me from this video, from the food, mountains, and ever certain street lights I can clearly remember. It is really great to see what happens to this place and can’t wait to go there again once these protests stop and this virus dies down, that is if he is going to be the same ever again. But I loved the Vedior and it brought up a lot of great times, so thanks a lot.
Watching this as a roadie in HK actually learnt a lot about cycling in HK. And shots and skills are sensational, let alone the remarkable editing works. Thanks Hans.
Excellent film - so many times in HK without knowing that there so many beautiful places for MTB. want to ride in those beautiful places. please keep producing such excellent movies
Thanks for making this clip. This is incredible! I grew up in HK but learnt to MTB in the UK. I never knew that you could mtb in HK. The single tracks look amazing, I have to try them out when I go home next time!
Welcome to Hong Kong🇭🇰 It's difficult time for us now, sorry for the protest influence, but it would be better. Hope to see u in HK again. #FreeHongKong #RevolutionNow
Hi Hans, ein cooler Trip und toll geschnitten! Sehr beeindruckend, die Unterschiede zwischen der pulsierenden Stadt und der Natur, den Demonstrationen, dem Geld und der Armut. Macht Lust auf mehr.
Bro, am planning to come to Malaysia from Singapore for some good MTB rides after covid-19 situation (haha hopefully soon), can you intro to me some good trails in KL? Thanks dude!
@@jesuspend hey man, the best trails are probably in Bukit Kiara. Get in to Strava or Trailforks and search Bukit Kiara and that will keep you busy for days 😉

What a wonderful video! Just showing my place how beautiful is on your coolest GT. Also, you know, you just came to Hong Kong at a tough but meaningful time. I think you did a good job to show what is going on when Hong Kong during the protest objectively. Appreciate it! By the way, a funny things wants to tell you.
