I appreciate small thing's like this, just out interest and fun. I would have one of these in the car, maybe put a couple of switches on the outside to cover the jumpers. It's nice to have the extra power just in case of emergency. Great work Paul. When I get paid I will be buying you a nice coffee for your time.
Hi Paul , recently purchased x4 t600 and want some extra power , want to keep the same normal FM channels , what would you recommend, also seen another video where they tweet the power by the screw setting , is this also advised ?
the extra power wouldn't in reality make a whole lot of difference to the range, with the radio set in the high power mode by changing the internal jumper and adjusting the preset the best I got was 4 watts anyway, also those presets really need adjusting with the correct tool, not a screwdriver as those can damage them, however running a radio like this at full output could shorten its life
This is because it puts the radio under a bit more stress and not a lot is gained as it is at best 8 watts output when modified to do that, plus it could shorten the life of the radio greatly
