It's one of the biggest pitfalls in training anything - sport skill, instrument, etc - that once you're brain gets used to a pattern you stop building those neural connections. Thanks for putting out such thoughtful content. Also, the fact that you can do these videos in one continuous shot is a testament to your poise as a teacher. You're helping a lot of people get better at what they love. Thank you.
This is Great thank you!!! I am curious as to why we would shuffle away from the ball leaving it slightly exposed to The defender as opposed to shuffling with or towards the ball to help protect the ball and maybe be able to get down hill better with the space that was created? Thanks Again for everything!
Hey Coach can you guys do some videos on passing? It seems like more and more guards nowadays are getting caught up with scoring and being selfish with the ball. Love the channel man.
Thanks coach! It’s my second day doing it and I already notice a massive difference in dribbling I’m dribbling way lower and the fluidity and smoothness of my footwork and body going with it is incredible, great drill it’s tough and tiring tho!
Coach, what the hell do u mean that might look easy xd that must be the hardest looking drill I've seen like... ever. Today is 22.1.2018. I'll come back 28.2.2018 and let u know how I've developed. Thanks for the drill!
Nvm I'm here already (9.2.2018) and I've got this one down pretty well. Tbh for me this looked harder that it actually was. The fact that while doing this, u've to think about moving and handling the ball at the same time and it scared me at first. But since I wasnt compleatly beginner it didnt take too much time to get used to it. Obviously I wont stop practising this one, but when it comes too easy to do I'll probably mix things up and evolve this drill to the next lvl. Still, a great drill. Would recommend. Thanks coach!
Every basketball player that has spent countless hours daily throughout hot sizzling boring summers with nothing but old sneakers, beat up basketball, and sweat... Have came up with similar basketball drills. Once you get this pattern down, throw in a perimeter jump shot. Get your mid range game up there with your handles. Just keep evolving it after each hour til you pass out or need to eat and sleep... Go do that... Comeback evolve the pattern further :)
Truth be told ur videos don't have all the flashy editing but mannnnn u have the best videos so far N I only watched 3 or 4 so far I seen ur name somewhere n just clicked it because I heard about u I think it was slam

The philosophy behind it is the brain learns by repetition so throwing a small variable in the mix to disrupt the brain's conditioning forces your mind and body to further develop more complex behavioral patterns. This same concept is applied to anyone advancing their skill from music to art even sex or bodybuilding (shock the muscle is how Arnold teaches the concept in bodybuilding).
hey coach is it good to do drills you arent actually going to do in-game? e.g: 2 ball drills, combo moves, etc. or is it better to do your simple crossover a million times? thxxxxxxxxxxxxx
That's personal preference. For instance, Coach Drew doesn't like doing non-game drills ever. But if you ever watch Steph Curry train or warm-up he's using two balls, a tennis ball, and a few other training aids. So, it's really up to you and what makes you better. - Joe @ TeamEGT
Hey, Thanks for everything but could you do a video explaining footwork for jumpshots? If you already have it send me the link! Great videos, Thank you.
Wait so is this a drill that helps you to know what move to do to break down your opponent without thinking? And if not then what because I don't quite understand.
Any way that you guys can help me. I’m a good shooter for my age, but I have trouble when defenders are around, and I have a slow release because my 1,2 step is slow, any tips? Thanks
Sounds like it's a mental thing and you're probably speeding up and losing your normal stroke. Try practicing at game speed and see if that helps over the course of 4 weeks or so. - Joe @ TeamEGT
It's a damn tough drill -- a lot going on. Break it down into sections and then layer them on top of one another. Anybody who can master this drill will surely be a more advanced ball handler and have better body control. - Joe @ TeamEGT
I dont understand basketball. How arent these 'shifts' considered travels? The whole bouncing and taking two steps and a gather step and a hop stop is ambiguous. I see harden taking four steps without bouncing?

Do a video tutorial on how to shift/the footwork on the skip dribble that you’re doing on the every 3rd dribble.

Hey Coach I need help gaining confidence while shooting. I'm a good shooter but pass when I touch the ball
The best thing I can give you is this: eliteguardtraining.com/products/egt-x-2
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Jace Stubbs Just don’t worry about what people are gonna think if you miss
Just shoot it while not caring if it misses, because every body miss.... but train a lot on shooting to get better and gain confidence to shoot it
Time to grind this drill out everyday
It's a great one. You may notice Jayson Tatum using these moves in games.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Coach, can you teach how to do advanced layups specifically the double clutch reverse layup? Thanks.

The BTB Shift crossover into a floater is my signature move so I was able to do 3 reps of each series at medium speed. Still difficult for me though.
Nice. Let us know when you can go through 2 full series at full speed.

Do you do these drills in games

Whare do I explode to the left or to the right?
So does this drill basically help you choose the right moves in a lot of different situations?
I did it back to back 1h30 till i made 3 x 2 sets, and now i'm exhausted, but i got a question, what is it gonna improve?
Your ball handling, beating your defender, and your overall athleticism to name some.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Wait so is this a drill that helps you to know what move to do to break down your opponent without thinking? And if not then what because I don't quite understand.
Unstoppable pointguard
We can help you get there if that's what you truly want.

I like lateral dribble
I think get shifty handles is just having good footwork mixed with good shoulder/upperbody movement.
Exactly what's demonstrated in the video.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Can you give me tips to play like kyrie irving
Btw I’m only 11 :....(

Once you're comfortable with something, it means you're not improving
I’m going to be honest this drill was honestly really easy, took me 5 mins to get it and then I did 4 sets on each hand, really easy though
looks like a monkey jumping :)
