I always have the worst time with transfer tape not lifting the design up easily or not letting go of vinyl when applying it to the surface! Have you run into that at all? People always get them off easily to apply? I have tried Siser and cricut brand and just purchased an Amazon one to try for a larger decal for a sign
I love the video. I’m just getting started with my cricut maker 3. But one thing I never see is when you make your decals what is the white paper that your printing your decals on?? Looks like a long sheet on the 12x24 mat? Please let me know what kind of white paper that is? Thank you in advance❤
An easier way to do that would be to unroll the transfer tape with sticky side up, then lay the cutting mat with decals down on the decals, much easier. Than the parchment paper.

I was so excited to do this and I made up a bunch of stickers and applied my transfer tape and now they are all ruined because the transfer tape is stickier than the vinyl and not letting go and in fact touched the designs before I could spread it evenly and it pulled up the sticker and ruined them. What am I doing wrong or do I need different transfer paper? One suggestion was to put the tape onto microfiber towel numerous times before use. Well first of all it now looks awful and not something to sell professionally and second of all really not helpful for a big sheet like you are using. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Its called YRYM HT Clear Vinyl Transfer Paper Tape Roll and on amazon its currently 40% off. In case your interested heres the link: amzn.to/4879lxf. Honestly the easiest way to get the vinyl on my transfer tape is to lay out the transfer tape and lay the weeded vinyl down on top of the tape, easiest way for me to do it, maybe not everyone, but for me it works. Please don't throw in the towel, give it another try. I am always here to help in any way I can.
Thank you SO much for your encouraging reply. It was so disheartening to lose almost half my cutouts to errant transfer tape. It literally pulled up and twisted the holographic designs before I could place it, like a magnet and there was NO removing it or straightening it out. As a relatively new person to marketing, it would defeat me if my customers ran into similar issues trying to apply. I will try the transfer tape you recommend and see what happens. I am seriously tempted to buy up several brands of tape and cut it all up into 12 squares and market THEM so people could test various brands themselves so they don't have to spend a fortune to get started. Thank you again!@@icreatecrafts8462

OK now I am having the opposite issue! No matter how much scraping, I feel like I am going to rub through to the design and I really put some oomph into it, the transfer paper won't pick up the glitter vinyl. One color glitter, same brand, worked like a charm, next one fair and my last one it messed up every letter in the wording because it simply wouldn't stick. You're welcome :) I price all of my decals at the same price and they sell really well. Some people do it by size, there is a chart on Google, but I just do a flat fee of $8 each
You're so welcome 😉 I just create them to what looks right or what size I'd like. I normally do them 5x5 or 8x8. You size them on how you'd like them to look and really how big the image or words are you want to be able to read them
I have tried three brands of transfer material and it just won't stick to the glitter vinyl. The worst is the more expensive. I am literally peeling the sticker off by fingernail and the small segments of letters and such are just sliding around on their backing and not adhering at all to the transfer tape. Do you have a suggestion video I have not found? Thank you so much! You make it look so easy. I have my specialty designs all lined up but I am just wasting vinyl and transfer tape at this stage. Thanks!
Awe, I'm sorry to hear this 😢 what brand are you using? There are different stickiness if that makes sense? I learned that the hard way. I don't work with glitter vinyl too often as I was having the same issue, and it wouldn't cut right. I was using Frisco transfer tape, but I switched to this kind (amzn.to/3PQP9bH) and ot 2orks better and is much cheaper. It's actually on sale right now. Can't say for sure that it'll work for what you need, but that's my thought. Good luck 👍
I just bought some of this brand per your previous recommendation. If it doesn't work, I will use the glitter for non-transfer type things, like magnets and stop trying the decals. Thanks again and I will report if I have better success with this tape.@@icreatecrafts8462

Which Cricut machine do you recommend if all I will be making is Decals? I was thinking of getting the Explore Air 2 or would it be best to spend a little more and get the regular Maker?
Hey Bill, I started out with a Cricut explore, I only upgraded to the maker because my explore broke. I love my maker don't get me wrong but I don't use all the functions it offers. My biggest sellers are decals I could use my explore to create them all, I don't see a big difference honestly. Make some money creating decals then upgrade if you want. Hope this helps. Good luck and have fun
Hi there Sue 😊 I sell mine for a flat fee of $8 each. No matter the size. I figure I do the same amount of work and put in the same amount if time so I charge the same. They sell great! Your welcome for the tutorial 😀 😊
Hi Jen-You said you sell your decals for $8 each. Is that the price the retailers sell them for? Or do they add their mark up to your $8? If they add their mark up, what do they retail your decals for? I agree with all. You do such a good job teaching. And right to the point. Thank you!
Great question, it all depends on how I save them. It could be a print and cut or could be just a cut file. It all depends on how you wanna use it. And how you upload it to design space
Hi@@icreatecrafts8462and thank you for your reply. I have realised now what I was doing wrong. I was uploading a JPG so they were a cut and print. I should have been uploading the SVG. It was then a cut file.
Thanks for the video. Santa is bringing me a Cricut this year, so I'm trying to get ahead on learning how to use it. Is it possible to add any design you want? Like pictures downloaded from the internet (for example logos from my favorite shows, etc.) 😁
Hi! Thank you so much for video - I love that you just get right to it and easily explain. I followed your suggestion and bought the vinyl you use - so easy to weed. love it! The issue I am having is that the transfer tape you suggest is not available for a whole month on amazon and i can't find it in stores anywhere. Do you know if any other transfer tape works? I have bought several over the last few days and nothing is lifting the image. Would love you have your link for the acrylic key chains your making. Thank you!

Good Luck, hope this helps. Here is the link to the acrylic key chains, amzn.to/467ap2e they are not sublimated, just put vinyl on it

Thank you so much 🥰 I don't usually ship mine I sell at craft stores/consignment shops. But if I were to ship them I'd put cardboard in between them and the envelope that they don't bend 😉
Hi there, The straight out of patience cut part way through under the straight wording and under patience. I had it attached and not sure why it did this. it also wants me to weed the straight lettering out.
So you can purchase sticker styles on Etsy and then resale them for yourself as stickers? Can you explain that process. I thought I had to make my own stickers to sell. Love the video thank you so much!
I purchase mine from Design Bundles where when you purchase the files you get the license to sell them. The answer is, no - what you've purchased from Font Bundles/Design Bundles IS the license! Hope this helps?
@@ethelguayasamin6231 thank you so much. I do not..I sell on consignment so they get a 20% comission from each one I sell. I am currently in 3 stores and hope to expand this summer. I have sold my crafts out right to stores which was really great.

Hi, you do an awesome job explaining how to create decals. I am curious is Teckwrap UV "safe" or does it need to be protected? Have you had any issues with them or is there a better vinyl I should use?
Thank you so much ☺ to be honest I just started using the teckwrap vinyl. But its permanent vinyl so I don't expect any issues. I usually use 651 vinyl otherwise. Hope this helps?
Does it matter what vinyl you use for iron on, car decal, or stickers? I'm so confused. Is it all the same?? Also, how do you do the print and cut? Print to sticker paper and apply clear vinyl?
When I Create car decals I use anything permanent. I want it to stick forever and not fall off over time. Stickers are just sticky back printed paper. Print and cut is an amazing option. You basically push the flatten button and it will turn it into a print then cut option. I'm still learning this option myself. I hope this helps a little
Iron on is vinyl that you apply using heat. It is mainly used on clothing. For car decals, permanent adhesive vinyl is the ideal choice. And for stickers, you just print your design on a sticker paper. For the print then cut, you would print it on sticker paper, applying clear vinyl is optional as it only laminates the picture you print. And after printing you would line it up exactly on the mat as it is on the screen for the machine to cut it properly.
I have never sent my decals to anyone, I sell in stores. But if I were to send them out, I would package them in a bubble wrap envelope with a cardboard piece in between to keep from bending :) hope this helps
I wish I could give you an award! That was such a sweet comment!!! Thank you im so excited to be growing, I hope to branch out more this year ;) once you start tou winter stop ☺
How do you make it, so in the summer it doesn't stick to the backing? I've tried pre peeling before shipping, but that doesn't work. it's only happened a handful of times so I also can't figure out if the cause is because of the heat

Is this the rose gold coloured tech wrap ? I think I heard that in the video but then I went back and watched parts again and couldnt figure it out 😅😅
Sorry, Tegan, I think some of it was Rose Gold, that has to be my favorite color from them
im having a problem where the blade is cutting all the way through so when i try to take the whole piece of vinyl off of the board it doesn’t come off in 1 piece
Sorry to hear this, my thought is that you are having it cut too deep, what setting are you cutting it on? Each material needs a different setting.
Tried to purchase your ebook but it said can't access this page
Oh no.really? Can you please email me at jen.icreatecrafts@gmail.com so I can send it to you
Hey jen reach out to me if you can because I am doing a setup for my son and he is battling terminal brain cancer at the age of 6 and im trying to get a cricut setup to do window vinyls Amy help is appreciated thank you in advance
I am always here to help in anyway I can. I'm sorry to hear about your son, my prayers are with you and him. I couldn't imagine. My oldest daughter had open heart surgery at 13 and a major blood clot last year. Thoughts, prayers and hugs to you all. Reach out anytime I'm here to help however I can
Thanks for the video. How do you determine the cost of decals?
You're welcome :) I price all of my decals at the same price and they sell really well. Some people do it by size, there is a chart on Google, but I just do a flat fee of $8 each
Great video! What do you sell the stickers for?
I sell my decals for $10 each
I am new could you help
Me out a little bit
Love this video! Where can I purchase your decals? Can you provide a link?
Thank you so much Daisy ❤️ I don't have them listed anywhere, if you want to send me an email we could talk more 😊
jen.icreatecrafts@gmail.com
Thank you so much for this! I do have a question how do you decide what sizes to use? I would love to make car decals bc I’m clueless on how to size.
You're so welcome 😉 I just create them to what looks right or what size I'd like. I normally do them 5x5 or 8x8. You size them on how you'd like them to look and really how big the image or words are you want to be able to read them
@@icreatecrafts8462 Thank you so much!!
Just ran into this video, but when i clicked on the link to your ebook it was a broken website link. Is there a new link where to get it?
Thank you. Sadly, my site was hacked and I need to start all over and create a new one. I do have it listed on etsy.

Are these decals for sale? If yes, where can they be purchased?
Which ones are you interested in?
"it is so much fun to make money" lol love it. wonderful video!! showing how to make them and how to package them so nicely!! so helpful
Thank you so much for this wonderful comment
Hello I purchased your ebook? How long does it take to receive it? Thanks!
Thank you for your purchase, I appreciate that. It's an instant download, it's right in purchase email you receive. Please let me know if you can't find it.
Thanks so much for your time.. I'm new to this, may I ask around what u sell these for?
Ask anything I'm an open book...I sell mine for $8 each. Have fun
can you sell those? i mean those dont have copyright?
I can, I purchased the rights to sell the product, not the file itself.
Awesome video tutorial; you make it look so easy. TFS.
Thank you so much ❤️ 💓 💗 💛 💖 ☺ they are easy lol glad you liked my video
Do you use a normal printer to print the designs before cutting?
No, it's all vinyl 😉
How much do you sell your decal for? Loved your tutorial
Thank you!
how much do you sell them for?
I sell mine for $8 each 😉
can I use permanent vinyl to make the decals
Yes that's all I use 😉
What kind of vinyl do you use for car decals?
Honestly anything besides removable vinyl. 651, teckwrap, anything I have in hand that's Permenant.
Loved your video. Where do you market your creations?
Well, thank you so much, I appreciate that. I mark my creations on Facebook marketplace and add a few consignment stores.
Loved your video. Quick question - Are these uploaded as a print and cut file or a cut file
Yeah good Santa 😍yes you use their program Design Space you can download images from google. I get a lot from design bundles. Have tons of fun
Thank you!
Sorry for the delay, I acutally changed my transfer tape, I now use YRYM HT Clear Vinyl Transfer Paper Tape Roll and its currently on sale on Amazon, here is the link in case you are interested. amzn.to/3Rhpieq. Good Luck, hope this helps. Here is the link to the acrylic key chains, amzn.to/467ap2e they are not sublimated, just put vinyl on it
What is a fair price to sell them for ? I was thinking $5
That's a good price. I sell mine for $8 but I also sell at a consignment shop which takes out 25%
I was wanting to start a business making money with my cricut.
I like to know what does that say in your little paper to put with your car decals so I can have the same thing as yours I will appreciate it thank you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year be safe and God bless you
Merry Christmas to you as well. Honestly I just found a saying on Google. I'll see if I can fond it
Are these still selling well for you?
For some reason, they sell really well in the summary, but not so well in the winter.
@@icreatecrafts8462 Ok, good to know. Thanks so much! Great video!
How much do you sell them for??
I sell them for $8 each 💓
How much do you charge for decals and is rose gold permanent vinyl? And you put on window of vechicle?
I charge $8/decal. Yes, all of the vinyl I use is Permenant. Hope this helps thank you for watching
Trying to see what a good price would be. Do you list it on here? I tend to undersell my items not realizing the worth of my products. Thanks
That's the hardest part I believe. I tend to do the same. I sell my decals no matter how big or small for $8 each. They are great sellers for me.
Hope this helps
I need to now is shine part goes down or up?
For HTV shiny side always down ☺️
For decals got to be permanent vinyl?
I use permanent vinyl yes, but you can use 631 but it might peel off after a bit.
@@icreatecrafts8462 thanks ☺️
where did u download the images ?
Oh Design Bundles, I love that site! They have Dollar Deals really often, check them out, but here is the link to the files: designbundles.net/fly-design/1983183-car-stickers-svg-bundle-car-decals-svg-funny-quote?ref=9D9n1F
Love the instruction and attention to detail. May I ask how you package for shipping? Do you use chipboard and padded envelope?
Thank you so much 🥰 I don't usually ship mine I sell at craft stores/consignment shops. But if I were to ship them I'd put cardboard in between them and the envelope that they don't bend 😉
Hi there, The straight out of patience cut part way through under the straight wording and under patience. I had it attached and not sure why it did this. it also wants me to weed the straight lettering out.
Hi there, maybe try welding instead of attaching? Sorry only thing I can think of
So you can purchase sticker styles on Etsy and then resale them for yourself as stickers? Can you explain that process. I thought I had to make my own stickers to sell. Love the video thank you so much!
I purchase mine from Design Bundles where when you purchase the files you get the license to sell them. The answer is, no - what you've purchased from Font Bundles/Design Bundles IS the license! Hope this helps?
Great video! How much do you charge for these?
Thank you I charge $8 for each one. I know others charge per inch but mines just one price
Hi there loved your video. Do you sell to stores at a discount?
@@ethelguayasamin6231 thank you so much. I do not..I sell on consignment so they get a 20% comission from each one I sell. I am currently in 3 stores and hope to expand this summer. I have sold my crafts out right to stores which was really great.
Thanks for this.. I see you 9nky checked a corner to make sure its stuck but do you normally peel the entire thing and then lay it back down to be sure all.of its stuck to the transfer tape.
No I just make sure a little bit is. I'd hate to undo the whole thing. I'm just looking to see if it's sticking if it is the whole thing should be good 😉
Thank you for sharing 😊
This was so easy to follow and understand … now for me to get my butt in gear !!!!
I love to craft but don’t charge enough … can I ask how you price these ???
Thank you again 🥰
You're so welcome, I love crafting and sharing how to do things. I sell all of my decals for one price no matter how big or small because to me it's all the same work. I charge $8 each. Happy Crafting
Thank you so much! I have just started making things like this so I wanted a good way to package them to make sure customers are able to apply and use them easily. As you know with vinyl sometimes everything doesn't come up with the transfer tape 😊
Youre welcome. I havent had any issues with the vinyl, maybe switch your transfer tape?
@icreatecrafts8462 oh this may be my problem! I've been using the cricut brand, are there better ones out there? The kmart one sucks lol
How do I start selling? If you don't mind..do I just go and ask a store about selling? How do I price?
Yeah I love hearing this!!! Yes go to a store show them your products and talk about what they charge. Im in 3 consignment stores so they take 20% of what i sell. I won't pay for a booth month to month. I price looking on etsy really gives me an idea...hope this helps? I do have a ebook that talks about all of this 😍
@@icreatecrafts8462 THANK YOU SO MUCH for being so transparent with me!! I will definitely get on this and I will keep you posted! I have been watching your other videos on decals too!🥰

What kind of packaging do you use for mailing these to customers, so that the product doesn’t damage?
I have never sent my decals to anyone, I sell in stores. But if I were to send them out, I would package them in a bubble wrap envelope with a cardboard piece in between to keep from bending :) hope this helps
Let me pat you on the back. That's inspiring to know that you have grown to 3 stores. Loved the video. I can't wait to do it.
I wish I could give you an award! That was such a sweet comment!!! Thank you im so excited to be growing, I hope to branch out more this year ;) once you start tou winter stop ☺
What other kind of vinyl can you use to do this?
I use any permenant vinyl, but my favorite is HTVRont vinyl

I sell at 2 consignment stores around me. Previously I sold direct to stores, but I haven't created enough inventory to do that again yet.
Thank you!
Thats very cool! How much would these sell for?
How big should they be?
Thank you. I sell them for $8 each
How do you make it, so in the summer it doesn't stick to the backing? I've tried pre peeling before shipping, but that doesn't work. it's only happened a handful of times so I also can't figure out if the cause is because of the heat
Sorry I have never had an issue with it sticking to the backing. What kind of transfer tape are you using?
I’m watching this thread cuz I need to know too. What kind of transfer tape do you use Jen?
Thank you for your video. You really do great videos, love watching them and they have helped me a lot! Thanks again.
