I just got a free GT Aggressor while on my amazon route. Id like to convert it to a gravel bike like this. What fork should I use? What parts do I need other than brifters? Awesome video!
Digging the bike, the build, and the video. However I keep asking on these videos and haven't really gotten a solid answer yet...why go with the rigid front fork on gravel bikes? Maybe I am just too old, but I remember the days of beating the hound out of my hands and arms when I was a kid, before the suspension fork came along. When they started adding suspension, I thought that we had finally made it as a civilization. LOL! Now everyone is ditching them for rigids again.
I think it is mostly because of weight and aesthetics. Some want to ride on smooth roads with minimal off-road or “gravel paths”. But if you are riding on real off-road trails, then suspension forks are a must. Just my opinion :)
@@mountainsnmoore256 One more reason: when ascending a hill a cheap suspension fork can move up and down with every pedal stroke and climbing can become much harder. The cheap trekking forks that I owned, don't have a lockoout. ;-) For people with lockout forks that is perhaps no reason at all? :-) At the end it is a question of the terrain (offroad, onroad, gravel road), riding style, the needed comfort level and of course personal preference. Some like the look and feel of one fork more than another one. :-)
How tall are you? I've seen a lot of conflicting advice about whether you should go up or down in size when converting to drops, this looks like quite a small frame but a good relaxed fit for you.
@@amadeusbike3701 Yes, but it might be complicated, depending on the bike. You need to check that there is room for 27.5 tyres and that the V-brakes have another vertical space to allow you to raise the brake block for the bigger wheel. I think with 700c that would be just about impossible. Disc brakes would make these mods a lot easier.
@@weeringjohnny also putting on bigger wheels would raise the bottom bracket, i'm running 27.5 on a 26" frame and when the saddle is set to the correct height I can no longer touch the floor with my feet, I can live with it though
Awesome i will start same project, learn so much from your videos. Thank you ❤
Great to know. Keep it in spirit 😉
Great job! Thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you. Much Love 💕
Thank you 🙏💓
good view of the leaves, wonder how the rebuild went?

Just find out front fork (without shock breaker) and change flat handlebar with drop bar . You may repaint yours .

@@dwenyace5539 Now see, that is what I was looking for…I hadn’t thought about the weight of gear on the front fork. Thanks.

Does the black on the wheels come off after braking a lot?
Yes off course, only on the brake line , the rest of the rim still black 👌
Nice build how much do you spend on it ? And witch parts do you use
Why not 700 wheels?
You have adapters for such dimension
700 most likely won't fit. 650b might.
I don't have 700c wheels 😊
700c fit but maximum Tyre 28*700c
You convert junk become gem, that's magic 👍🏅. Keep build Sir
Thanks Sir

Good build.

Wow that's cool bike ❤️❤️❤️

How did you get the road brake levers to work with v brakes? As far as I know they are not really compatible.
Yes, bit tricky to set Road bike brake lever with v brakes. But so far it's works well
I tried this before with barrel adjusters mid cable and it helped set the v brakes better for a short pull lever.
@@aidanoc19 do you have a pic or something?
Mini v's work well with road levers.
What is the brand of shifters, fd and Rd? Is this 3by?
Shimano sora
