  • The 20 March protest at Sanam Luang might have turned out to be the biggest rally this year. And why not?
Pro-democracy leaders are imprisoned without bail or a guilty verdict. Palang Pracarat MPs and senators voted down the third motion for constitutional redraft. Great injustices have been done.
But instead, it ended up as the most violent crackdown since the pro-democracy protest began in February last year.
Thailand’s pro-democracy movement is caught in a trap. The situation rinses and repeats itself. Breach the containers. Crackdown. Breach the containers. Crackdown.
To what end does this cycle serve?
This video gives a first-hand account on what happened on the night of 20 March, at least from what we saw.
