Fighting for hegemon interest: valiant heroes! Fighting for any other regime: evil mercenaries! Meanwhile international "fighters": Just here to make an honest buck and maybe get to legally kill someone. Yolo.
I take it there is no evil in the USA and democracy is true. Nobody can seriously believe or argue that out of millions of potential candidates Biden would ever be elected to office in a true democracy.
I totally disagree. The Ukrainians will always remember the foreigners who sacrificed their lives for their country. They will never be forgotten. As of now, over 400 have been killed and many more wounded. Ukraine remembers and looks after the wounded. To say that there will be no thanks from Ukraine is an absolute lie! Stratigic studies guy, get your facts right!
I think he means more so in the case of the level of care. Australians wounded in Afghanistan for example were treated in country then flown to either British hospitals in Cyprus or US ones in Germany for surgery then on returning home get life long medical care. Something that Ukraine is probably unable to give even if they wanted to.
"Hobbit" is not wrong: Maintaining direct relationships with other countries and armies is a way more important function of these volunteers for Ukraine than whatever limited combat capability they provide. It's probably why they're used sparingly. Ones who stay a long time would be able to train future ones or even go recruiting back home (within whatever limits exist on it there).
No nation can expect foreigners to die for them unless they have a commonality of national interest. It would be even wrong to fight for a foreign country with too diverging interests. Helping Ukraine is to hurt Russia, which is in the interests of many of neighbours of Russia.
@@herptek Hurting Russia is an American goal for those who engage in global hegemony . Neighbours are more interested in Kremlin aggression coming to an end. If that requires hurting Russia, so be it, but that is a byproduct.
@@johanmetreus1268 In the cold geopolitical logic the end of the war is not what weakens Russia the most. Them suffering constant casualties and having to deploy their army in Ukraine means the rest of their neighbors face no threat for the duration of it. Seeking peace is for other reasons, usually humanitarian, rather than strategic. Only if the Ukrainians are seen to be losing and potentially capitulating entirely it would be in everyones interest to see an end to the war. So far this hasn't been the case and only pro-russian or other rather mistaken people are seen to advocate Ukraine terminating the conflict at any cost in peace terms.
@@herptek The geopolitical logic is right on point, but I think you are missing the nuance when it come to those wanting the war to end fast. There is of course the pro-Russian posture of "saving Ukraine" by in effect unconditional surrender to Kremlin, but for the neighbouring countries things are quite different. The on-going war is a constant drain of resources, and also upsets the markets everywhere. Peace and quiet is a good thing. Thus, from our perspective, the best possible outcome would be Ukraine crushing all the Russian forces inside their country so hard and fast that Kremlin falls and a new government less enthusiastic about expansion takes over.
@@johanmetreus1268 It is rather optimistic to think that Russian government will fall or to change for the better as a result of this, no matter how the war goes. If Russia itself crumbles before the stress imposed by the economic sanctions or other consequences of the war then that is a different thing. It might take a while and people should get used to hard times. Economies can re-orient once it will be clear that there is no going back to how things used to be.
A tremendous amount of inaccuracies. Most volunteers are paid, and they are not considered mercenarys unless they are paid more than what a Ukrainian national would be paid.
The thing about these volunteers is that they are probably extremely good soldiers. It will take a special kind of person to go do this, especially people with no prior military service. Sure some will die in their first week, but I suspect the ones that don't, were made for this kind of war. Perhaps their lack of experience is a benefit in some ways, this is a modern war, the likes we have not seen before, strategies are not the same.
@@danielwhyatt3278 What's very interesting is that I am seeing more and more strategies in this war that derived from either battlefield or call of duty gameplay. Its surreal to watch people doing in real life what I did in battlefield 10 years ago, and it was implausible in the game, let alone real life....
Support Ukraine. Either give for lethal or non-lethal aid. Everyone is fighting for your freedom too. Don't underestimate this fight, if we do not stop it there it will come to you.
It's all about the money, you can call them whatever you want "volunteers" "freedom fighters" "international legion" in the end they all are mercenaries
Actuly the difference is clear in the Geneva convention. Mercenarys are not counted as combatents but volenters are. They have rights as POW just as some of the volenters Russia are using.
They were told the Russian army has low morale, its weak with ill-equipped and poorly-trained soldiers and they would destroy the Russian army like they do on video games in an instant. One year later, they are realizing someone lied to them.
Both can be true, *and are* Majority of the losses are either penal battalions or entrenched "holding troops" Russia has learned much from the wastefulness of the Afghanistan campaign. They *do* have some glaring and exploitable weaknesses that drones are best suited for utilising, however. It's better to say they are *improperly equipped* than ill-equipped, since early equipment distribution expected occupancy followed by high partisan activity, not an *actual* "shooting war" against a similarly mobilised military
The biggest problem for these western tanks leopard, challenger and now abrahams are the kamikaze drones. A strike of one kamikaze drone can bring this tank out-of-service, do I am not sure how much help will they provide in liberating territory. Their effectiveness will only be complete when paired with anti-drone system.

But tell me - how did those African leaders who went to Russia fare? Did Putin suddenly start up the grain deal again for the welfare of the 99.99% of the world you say support him? Nope.@@Dailyopinion-uo5nw

@mrlist-ui9mu Hey mate, how'd you get in without prior service experience?
It's a shame that my country has a law that prohibits citizens from volunteering to join in armed conflict overseas. Otherwise, I would definitely join up even though I'm already quite advance in age. I still have all my limbs, and can still move around freely on my own. I may not be fit for the frontlines, but I can certainly still help in the background or as part of the support troops. It's not about being a hero or glory-hunting for me, but standing up against a tyrant, fighting for the freedom of a sovereign country and the international rule of law.
For someone who is already in a quite advanced age, preparing one's soul for transition to the eternal life, through repentance and drawing closer to God, is a far more noble thing than going somewhere with an intention to kill other people, or even to just help others to do so.
Go as logistics then.
Remember that for every pilot or soldier there's often ten mechanics or cooks 🥴
Nowhere near as glamourous, every bit as necessary!
At your age, maybe start to read history books and try to understand the world. If you think Putin is a tyrant Napoleon was 100X times worse.
@@thomaslacornette1282 And what relevance does that have here? Napoleon isn't still alive now, is he? He's not leading an army attacking anyone now, is he? I didn't mention Napoleon nor compare Putin to him, nor claim that Napoleon wasn't a tyrant, did I? I also didn't make any reference to France or the French military, did I? Did Napoleon wrong you or your family? Or the French, maybe? Take it up with Macron then. Otherwise, try and keep up with the subject matter currently in discussion.
@sleepy_dobe if you went, you'd be part of the west's proxy war against Russia that has been provoked by wanting to put another NATO nation on Russias border. Its a matter of time until our leaders get bored as they always do, then they'll move onto the next place to destroy, probably Taiwan.

As an American patriot who has been in the military, I don’t claim to support Ukraine at all. The US literally spent several trillions of dollars aiding Ukraine, which is an awful use of money. I may be a minority here, but my input is to never be understated. Better cut support for Ukraine sooner rather than later.

Or Constitutional Republic loving civilian
the USA is currently being ruled by tyrants who stole the election. You are in a 1984 tyranny and do not know it. Wake up
I totally disagree.
Dont worried about pay. Just give them couple of Anti tank missile. That is pretty much 3-4 year works of money.
Is this a last year interview video or recently video I'm confused or they came back from front line ...any info about those foreign fighters
This is a foreign legion in the armed forces of Ukraine, ordinary contract soldiers are the same as Ukrainians, the contract is the same
They are just mercenaries, period.
And artillery is an ultimate equiliser but every volunteer here is worth 10 Russians who don't want to fight.
Full support to every last one if them. I truly hope more will continue to volunteer.
@@danielwhyatt3278 What's very interesting is that I am seeing more and more strategies in this war that derived from either battlefield or call of duty gameplay.

They were told the Russian army has low morale, its weak with ill-equipped and poorly-trained soldiers and they would destroy the Russian army like they do on video games in an instant. One year later, they are realizing someone lied to them.
Both can be true, *and are*
Majority of the losses are either penal battalions or entrenched "holding troops"
Russia has learned much from the wastefulness of the Afghanistan campaign.
My Utmost Respect goes to you International Legion....God bless!❤
