Its called selfish and the myopic survivor issue. Survivors are fixated on keeping themselves alive at all costs, which means they're pathetic as long as it gives them a few more seconds of breath.
Snowfall is like Boyz N the Hood, Colors, and Menace 2 Society all in one this is most definitely the top show I can watch over and over.
Haven't watched the show but I watched this and other clips on TH-cam and I get that same feeling. They kinda nailed that '80s & '90s culture and feel like those movies like Boyz and Juice and Menace.
At the finale they make a reference to boys n da hood as they’re walking to Cho’s
John singleton the guy that made the early snowfall seasons also made Boyz N the Hood. He died before the show finished

There are tons of extremely violent shows out there but the way Snowfall portrays violence is like something out of a horror movie. It's not like it isn't stylish or well choreographed like other shows but it's so grim and never feels like it loses sight of how horrifying death is.

I always stayed away from this show because it brought back memories of my sister who struggled with addiction, which lead to the end of her life. Maybe I’ll give it a chance after all.
I'm sorry for your loss, seeing the effects of addiction in your family is devastating. Did you ever end up finishing the show? If you didn't then in case it does any good as a recommendation, I truly feel this series as a whole is the best depiction I've ever seen of the destruction that drugs and addiction and the violence that often surrounds that can cause for addicts, for their families and entire communities, along with the inevitable moral deterioration of someone who profits off of that. It's a very impactful story.
The episode with Frank and Oso was definitely my favorite

I don't mean to be evil, it's just a show, but according to Leon's lifestyle, it would've been smart to kill Khadijah right in the car when he killed her daughter so no one would be able to go back and tell Skully who did it. That is, if he really bout that life. But we wouldn't have a storyline if Skully didn't go to war with them so I understand.

Doing that would be the logical thing but Leon is pretty young and new to killing and never killed any civilians before and pre-90s era gangsters of all kinds were very reluctant to kill kids for any reason, combine all that and it put him into shock so by the time he snapped out of it he realized he needed to peel out before police or anyone else began to investigate the scene, plus killing a kid in front of their mom and then doing in the mom right after would've been too much of a strain on his mental well-being at that time, he was already in and out of it twice when he shot them and then when he hopped back in the car.
