Apparently Billiard 2008 is a hack of an NES game called "Lunar Ball," and the music is modified from that game. They only wanted to avoid copyright and nothing else.

My parents gave me some bootleg ass consoles as a kid, for those reasons. Granted, it was the early 90’s and no one really knew what the fuck they were doing in regards to technology.
The problem with these consoles is that if you're gonna go bootleg might as well get a shitty NES clone with actual good games instead.

I found the high pitched noises coming from a circle k aux chord, connected to a car stereo at full blast, more pleasurable than the background noise the lexibook produces at the title screen.
I noticed many of the games that were in the handheld p&p that Ashen reviewed 10 years ago. I think it was called the GamesPower 50 or something.
Yep, it was. You've got BOBSHOP, Birdie Nest (I recognized the name of this one from the GP50), the balloon-crate shooty game, and the falling crate game with the invisible cig. I also recall the rock-paper-scissors game being played by Ashen as well. At least these games appear to be reused slightly less than the usual ones.
The fact that, even after a decade, people still are willing to make and buy shoddy famiclone games and hardware is astonishing.

Did anyone notice how some of the games are knockoffs of various Game & Watch games? (The Game & Watch Gallery 4/Advance versions to be exact) Also, the Bird Hunter game is obviously ripping off Pyoro from WarioWare, Inc.! There may also be knockoffs of lesser known games, so feel free to point them out!

That Billiard 2008 game is actually called Lunar Pool, exclusive to the NES. While that is the music for it, in all that is Heaven and Earth...WHAT...DID...THEY...DO to that sound track? Sounds like they translated it to a music box. Then set said box out onto a shooting range and tried using it after the damage had been done. It wouldn't have won any awards in it's real form. But...if they did that to avoid copy right detection...it was hardly a AAA game to begin with. Just kind of one of those filler titles under the unique category.
I like how Vinny didn't even comment that the first game's second title "Track Stra" is in a futuristic text font, and can be switched around to say Star Track. Remove the 'a' and replace with an 'e'...

I actually bought this exact Lexibook plug & play at my local Toys-R-Us before it shut down. It was a waste of $20 because when I plugged it in and turned it on it didn't work.
