I disagree. Your feet will still slide, especially if it's hot or you are a hot body. We did this trick when I used to model over 20 years ago. Best bet, get an insert or two. Customize it for slippage and comfortability. They last longer without making your toes sticky.
I’ve used two command strips one under the ball of my foot and one under set the heel of my food, I wipe the bottom of my foot only with a little alcohol. Let it air dry, then put my shoe on (the tops of my feet are previously moisturized with baby oil, Vaseline or lotion. And it worked too!

I use a gel insert with an adhesive backing, my foot doesn't slide forward.
