  • Hello,
    In this episode, I installed the Crash Guard on a Honda Rebel 300. I got the product from ebay with the link below.
    www.ebay.com/itm/193752411770
    Update: TH-cam viewer named albany69611 noted that he installed the Crash Guard as follows:
    The top mount is supposed to have both sides of the bar clamp around the frame bar and then the crash bar mounts on top of the clamp, not in between them.
    Enjoy watching and don't forget to Subscribe & Like this video.
    Thanks.

    I recently traded my third Harley in as I decided it was time to downsize my motorcycle. So I traded for the brand new 2021 Honda Rebel 500.
    Yes it's considerably less cc than the Harley, but it's lighter and easier to move around when riding and of course it's cruiser style. Oh and I've fitted tip over bars.

    I bought the same bars for my Rebel and googled some instructions/pictures. The top mount is supposed to have both sides of the bar clamp around the frame bar and then the crash bar mounts on top of the clamp, not in between them.

      Thanks for the advise. I will add your installation instructions in this video's description.

      @@irogdebs8698 BTW, thanks for posting the instructions. How have the bars held up? Also, have you found an effective way to protect the rear end besides slidders?

      @@albany69611 The bar is sturdy enough and I have not looked at sliders or bars that can be used for the rear end. Haven't done anything with the bike for now.

    I have 2021 rebel 300 and was wondering what year yours is . I want to buy a crash bar like yours, but I seen where some of the ones on ebay would fit a 2018 rebel but not the 2020 or 2021 . Any information would be helpful . THANKS!!

      I also have a Rebel 300. Kenny, did you ever determine if this engine guard will fit a 2021?

    The guard looks good but looks small. Can you make a video with bike on the side so we can see how much the guard protects. Thanks.

      @@irogdebs8698 Thanks for the additional video and the guard looks nice. But I was wondering have you tried laying it on the side (gently) to see how much the guard would protect if you ever dropped the bike and it fell on its side. I was also looking at the T-rex bars which are big and I thinknot as stylish as your guard but when another youtuber put the T-rex bar bike on the side it fully protected everything.

      @@johnaxta1008 No I have not. from the looks of it, I think it can protect my bike if laid down.

    It's more on looks than being a crash guard due to it's tiny size... how will it protect your leg and catch the fall it's really short.

    • @irogdebs8698
      @irogdebs8698  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hoping it won't happen. To have some protection is better than nothing at all. There are more expensive ones available but for the price point, I am okay with this.

    Do the lower bolts need to be torqued?

    • @irogdebs8698

      Hi bluemoonrider143, I did not torque the bolts. I just tightened it and I am also not sure if there's torque specs on Crashguards. Thanks.

    How did you mount the horn?

    Crach guard...yes it you stand still it may helps. In slow speed it bents backwards and helps nothing at all. 😒

    • @irogdebs8698
      @irogdebs8698  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it's better to have something than nothing at all. This is also better than having sliders. There are other more expensive crash guards in the market that you can get.

    That's just a 300cc or smaller.... the 500cc doesn't give you any room to install it like that
