- Kate Middleton has spoken out about the controversy surrounding a photo released by the Royal Family on Mother's Day.
The Princess of Wales has apologised for the ‘confusion’ surrounding the family photograph released by Kensington Palace.
She said: “Like many amateur photographers, I occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”

The press should give a break to a sick lady. And Afua, what do you think of the photoshopped snaps of H&M with a full head of hair on Harry and Meghan's wrinkles brushed out and even their children's hair color being gingerized. And the media is crickets about them.

I feel sorry for Kate that she was made to feel she had to produce a photo of her and her children to satisfy vultures. The Palace or William should have been giving updates on her recovery, could have simply said she's improved since last week or she's still taking it easy and will give an update next week or month. The media have behaved so badly about this. Parents often edit pics of the family, especially with young, squirming kids. She was just trying to make a nice pic for posting on Mother's Day, and the media have lost their minds over this.
The photojournalists were not invited and they were enraged they couldn't make money off that. By a royal posting free on their own page cuts away a huge revenue, because they have copyright.

EVERYONE edits their photos today! My phone doesn't have AI capabilities, nor do I use Google Pixel 8, but still, I edit nearly every photo I take on my phone and this can even cause some distortion. The only difference is that when I post a photo I've edited I don't have a million trolls picking it apart to fuel lunatic conspiracies. And even worse than the trolls, the media keeps adding fuel to the fire instead of putting out the fire and calling out those who are causing all this hysteria.
No, the difference is that you don’t release the photo to news agencies. Once you do that and they distribute, if it proves altered, they cannot keep them out without recalling - otherwise it brings liability.

A beloved woman who had three children close together could easily require a corrective surgery, hernia surgery is often needed and that is a four month ordeal so that everything heals properly, but whatever her surgery may be, the announcement was she wanted her privacy and would be recovering till Easter.
Instead of the public respecting this, they constructed foolish theories until they forced a dear family to mitigate vile stories.
The public's rudeness caused this...shame on those who just needed to make something simple into something as vile as the inventors of such fantasies.
It happened because William got rid of his wife. If you know nothing, say nothing.

I'm not even going to listen to this Talk TV twaddle, which I assume is having a go at the Princess of Wales for doing what we all do, improving a family snap. As I didn't listen, can anyone tell me whether they also had a go at certain people across the pond for photoshopping/blurring/editing/airbrushing just about every photo they let the press publish? How about Harry's new head of hair, when in fact h's "gone the full Friar Tuck" (I quote). How about Meg's airbrushing every single wrinkle out of her face (she should really concentrate on the wrinkles in her clothes first)? And at least we can see three REAL children in this photo.

I am pretty sure every photo I see on Hello Canada, Vanity Fair, Elle etc of almost every actress have been airbrushed. Does that also count as “ touching up”!Or photoshopped. I trust that this photo is a lovely photo of a mum and her family for Mother’s Day! You British media have hounded her until she felt she needed to send something out showing she is okay. I have seen about ten photos this morning taking video reels or photos playing with their children and not one of them have their wedding rings on. Vanessa, you seem to be very level headed and see it for what it is and not trying to make a big deal of it. For whatever reason Sarah does not feel the same, even though she backtracks when she is making negative comments regarding Prince William and Princess Catherine, to try and say something nice.
I think the Royal Family has lost Sarah to the run-away duo across the pond, because whenever their names are mentioned, Sarah take on a whole new attitude of admiration.

I would love to Sarah sacked because up to now I would say nearly every comment is aimed at her for what she has said so to me that tells me everything and I hope she reads these. Agree, most of us edit our pictures to cental them to crop them many different reasons but the picture that the princess of Wales edited at least didn't put hair on where no hair is, did nit colour hair redder than it is , did not make face look smoother like some in monticito do without the same media taking it down and shouting it to the world...bit of what double standards? Favouritism, political pull? Money? Who knows what incentives are given out by a nasty pair in monticito.

It was a photo PC put onto their personal social media page. What the heck is the press doing lifting that photo from there to re-publish. No one asked nor authorised them to do that. Imagine if any of our photos on our own social media pages are lifted by strangers to be used willy nilly, we would all be up in a furore about copyrights, etc etc.

Thank you, Vanessa. There is so much pressure on The Princess of Wales to be perfect. She has been ill. Medication can make one puffy or perhaps they have lost weight or have extreme fatigue. The trolls have been very nasty. There have been death threats against some TH-camrs who are supportive of the royal family. It is vile. Police have been investigating many of these cases.
