- Kensington Palace is under pressure to answer questions about whether the first picture of the Princess of Wales to be released after her surgery has been digitally altered.
The image of Kate and her children, said by the palace to have been taken by the Prince of Wales, was posted on social media.
The photograph was shared with media on Sunday but it was withdrawn by international picture agencies later the same day because of concerns that the image had been manipulated.
Kensington Palace has not yet commented on the concerns raised about the picture.
But without an official response from the palace, the confusion around the image is likely to fuel online conspiracy theories about Kate which have swirled on the internet since her abdominal surgery.

This message was Mothers Day "best wishes" message, nothing else. It just had an appropriate picture "a mother with her children". IT WASN't meant to be some kind of report of her health status. THE tesxt of the MESSAGE REFERRED ONLY TO MOTHERS DAY, NOT a word of her HEATH, which the palace has told to inform only if something significant happens.

I have to say that CHARLES MADE A MISTAKE when he told about his diagnoses.Maybe it saved some lives, but he put all other royals in an unfair and terrible situation. My guess is that it was either tweeked, not too professionally, to look better OR very likely Prince William used his iPhone to take the photo and edited it with the filter to brighten it up and that accounts for the weird corner of the sleeve and the blurry hand. I edit nearly every photo I take just to make it sharper or brighten the color. People and the media need to get a freaking grip.

This story is not worth the air time. There is hardly a picture published that has not had some editing done. One of the biggest culprits being Meghan. Are we coming to the end of publishing pictures of celebrities in the papers or are we living with double standards.

I suspect that Kate has taken high doses of cortisone and that she is therefore swollen in the face and does not want such images to circulate on her for the rest of her life.. Cortisone is common after abdominal operations. All nagging. that she has not been seen has forced this manipulated image. Let them be..

I can't quite buy in to Angela's conspiracy theory, though I'm sure M &H are dancing round the mansion, because of the practicalities of getting the photo to doctor in the first place. I don't know much about it though. I simply don't agree about the wedding ring. I haven't worn mine for years because I put on weight (opposite reason) and didn’t get it altered because I hoped one day I'd lose it again! The photo was only released because of the ridiculous pressure put on Katherine. Whatever has happened that's what it's down to. Forget about the photo. Does it really matter?
