      Which Peak Design backpack do you have? I have the Everyday 30l and I'm wondering if it would count as a personal item. I do not want to check my bag since my camera and laptop will be inside. Don't want to give up my bag with everything going on with people losing bags.

      @@Richard_Lutz yes same one. Have always been able to take it and another carryon luggage no problem

      @This DINKY Life Thanks for the feedback! How did you like traveling with the bag? I love my 30l, but I'm not sure I'll bring it. I'm going to be spending 15 days exploring the Alps. I can't wait.

      @@Richard_Lutz I love my peak design bag. I have had it more than 5 years and it is still the bag I mostly take, unless I am hiking. For hiking I bring a specific hiking backpack. Enjoy!

    I'm going with my girlfriend to Annecy and Chamonix in early October, hope we can do this trek. we aren't excellent hikers, but maybe i'd be doable! the view is fantastic and looks so peaceful :D

      The view is amazing! Check the gondola/lift to see if they're operating in October. They were starting to shut down on us when we were there in September.

    Thanks for the informative video! I'm heading to Chamonix soon and checking out your channel as my main source of info :)) did you guys get a multiday pass to access all the cable cars and lifts? or did you buy tickets individually?

    This looks very nice! We are going in 2 weeks and would like to hike this trail, but have one concern: catching the Aiguille du Midi cable car from the mid point to take us to the top. Doesn't it have limited space? Most people taking it are coming from the bottom. Are additional passenger welcome to hop on? We are also thinking of purchasing passes and looking at the process, we would have to reserve the day and time for this cable car but from its starting point. There is no option to reserve it from the mid station. So how is it possible? 🤔

    • @ThisDINKYLife
      @ThisDINKYLife  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Everyone gets off at the midpoint and then transfers onto another cable car. You’ll be able to get on just fine because everyone queues up again.

    Excellent video. I like to hike that trail some day. Did you hiked up from the train station behind Chamonix Mont Blanc Train Station on the valley floor to Le Monteners Train Staion? Or did you take the train up and started your hike from the middle? What is the name of the trail from the valley to Le Montenvers Train Station?

    • @ThisDINKYLife
      @ThisDINKYLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We took the train, then started the hike from there :)

    If you were a beginner hiker would you recommend doing it the opposite way round?

    I did that hike one foggy morning. The interesting thing about it.. I saw a human turd left on the trail and then I came across some Chinese hikers just a bit further down the trail acting guilty after they heard me calling out how disgusting someone was who would poop on a trail and leave it.

      To each his own preferences but stop advertising stuff at number one rated when it's not. Personally I would recommend Albert 1er, Lac Cornu, Lac Blanc route from tré-le-champ route (too popular though), Vallon du Bérard, Aiguillette des Posettes, lac de Pormenaz, refuge de Loriaz... Plan de l'aiguille still very nice of course!
