    Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

    Hector is not being respectable or even reasonable here. He’s telling Mike to take on a charge for the benefit of the man that beat him up. Under the assumption that they’ll go easy on him. Which by the way is a veiled threat since it’s him subtly telling Mike that he’s looked into him. While only offering $5,000 even though he could literally offer Mike $500,000 and it’d make no difference to the money he has. $5,000 to Hector is like ¢5 to everyone else.
    This just highlights Hector’s complete lack of respect, like how he treats everyone in the cartel not named Salamanca. As well as his incompetency with how he thought Mike would agree to this awful deal. Like how he thought a rundown auto shop could move as much product as Los Pollos Hermanos.

    • @ryankwon8785
      @ryankwon8785 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The level of brutality committed by the sociopathic and psychotic Don Eladio and Hector kind of makes me question how the Cartel was founded in the first place. They are too brutal for anyone to join the cartel or work with them. If Gus Fring was the one who founded the Cartel, which he did not, then it would have made tons of sense. Despite this, their level of brutality and how Gus paid no consequence towards the Cartel's gradual downfall kind of shows how much the other criminal organizations hate the latter.

    One thing I love about this scene, and also the scene where Hector flips out about Tuco stabbing someone inside, is Hector's constant exasperation with Tuco. The guy's a liability. Hector knows it, the other Salamancas know it, and so do Eladio and Bolsa. Hector doesn't want him out of jail entirely, just a reduced sentence, sorta like "Yeah, the kid's a liability and we're all sick of it."

    I love how Mike gets upset at the end. He just stumbled upon the real big threat and he knows it.

    Hector is the best character and the only character that has actually wins. He was always right about Gus and then when no one else listens to him he beats him by blowing him to pieces. Respect Hector.

      Like Mike about Walt. Mike always said that Walt was the problem with everything or anything going wrong, he was always right. It's one of the reasons why Mike is one of my favorite characters.

    "Aggravated assault, the gun - plus he got your wallet!."
    "Thas right."
    The smile and little head tilt as Mike responds is perfect, it shows how satisfied he is with the results.
    Hector lists off the charges on his fingers and Mike's grinning through his black eye thinking "it's almost as if someone was trying to goad him into getting himself arrested".
