And even tells him to continue on because he knows asura and knows asura is not as they claim. I feel like Augus wanted this end and he didn't want to keep fighting for the sake of this stupid cause, he wanted a GOOD battle a solid stage for a finale to his rampage. And the being closest to being his son would be the one, if anyone could put him down in a way befitting him in his eyes it would be asura. I Feel like Asura actually considered augus to be more than just some enemy, Hell I think augus wasn't even really his enemy... they were more kindred spirits. Augus just... didn't have asura's compassion or ability to see beyond his selfishness... he was just some simple steps to being just like asura. (Hell maybe he was at one point, but gave up... were as asura continued...)
I'm late as hell but I love that he doesn't have a mantra form he just uses his sword. Even Deus used his Mantra form and a weapon against Asura and Yasha. And in the end like others have stated, he wasn't really any enemy just a teacher checking the progress of a student
Yea, that guy litteraly thought with his own strenght alone, thats to show how OP he is, he would probably be able to bully everyone else if none had mantra. If he did use Mantra hed probably show stronger than even Deus or smt. Absurd, thats why we loved him
@@Freedmoon44 That's probably true actually, Yasha even said that the only other person to make Augus draw his sword besides Asura was Deus himself (meaning Augus definitely was on Deus' tier w/o Mantra).
@@bassgx1459and it's shown to be proven true based off the previous encounters with Wyzen and kalrow. One was an over gluttonous idiot who cost the enemy side a notable loss of Mantra that delayed their plans and the other used a mantra powered Armada of ships in lieu of actually training of himself, and against an opponent like Asura that Armada is essentially spitballs. Opposite ends of the spectrum of over-reliance on mantraa ability over your own skill. Though I think there's even a point of how Augus is proven to be an extreme as well, he only uses his basic abilities and sword to contend with his pupil here but if he had used Mantra he could have seriously affected the stories events by either killing Asura or by siding with him and imagine the repercussions that would have on the plot? Imagine if Yasha may have defected sooner because of Augus actually showing a loyalty to something. Or a 3 v 1 against deus?
And also Augus is Asura if he let his love for fighting consume him: see that Augus doesn't talk about anything different? Other than fighting of course. So yes, Augus is a much older yet unhinged Asura, an embodiment of what he could have become.
This man has respect (allows you to rest and live the moment before fighting), admits you're an amazing fighter, absolutely loves the fight between you and him, wants you to give it your all so he can do the same AND has respect for you in the end, even though you defeated him and admit that it was an amazing battle. Augus is just my favorite character.
This game is freaking beautiful, its a playable anime, every shot perfectly encapsulates the feel and sheer power that emanates, and somehow differentiates titanic power from an overwhelming megamind, WHERES MY ANIMATED SERIES?!
This game just straight down made one of the best uses of the 4th Movement of Antonin Dvorak's New World Symphony in popular culture *EVER* . This piece of literal musical epicness was made for such a game.
@@KamiTenchi If Catholic school taught me anything, is that Jesus is a pretty chill guy. He’s not gonna fight Asura. He’ll just have a discussion with him. Try and convince him that his wrath will only cause pain and destruction. But knowing Asura, he’ll still continue on with his path, fully aware of the consequences of his vengeance. He’ll do anything to save his daughter. And Jesus will probably step aside and let him continue on with his pursuit of vengeance and will lead to the ending. And Jesus would be right, Asura’s pursuit of vengeance became his undoing.
Augus was such a badass! The perfect meaning of life to me! “You fight, then eat good food. You fight, then drink fine wine. You fight, then sleep with beautiful women. Hell, fight with beautiful women! That is what it means to live.”

realizing how much augus influenced asura is crazy after many years coming back, i now realize that in the end, augus essentially gave full support to asura no matter what, even on opposing ends. he didnt see himself amd asura as the same because he thought asura some mad dog. he thought as much because they were both fully willing to toss away everything and fight. augus merely never needed a reason, and never considered consequences. while asure does find his reasons, in the end, he didnt care about the consequences either. thats cuz he had augus's final words, to walk the path he must.
To be honest, big fights like this and Asura vs. Wyzen would fuck Gaea (the planet) up HARD. Augus literally cut the moon in half with _ease,_ so imagine the same thing happening on the planet.
@@onetimetonio3807 Not to mention his sword literally pierces through the entire planet later in the fight anyway. It's a miracle Gaea wasn't blown apart at some point.
Chendra Limiarja Nah fuck One piece, if anything that reminded me of the Wrath VS Scar fight in FMA:B, where Wrath fucking grabs the broken sword out of his mouth in mid air and stabs Scar in the gut with it
@@thogurus192 I thought I was the only one who thought of that. Zoro never grabbed his sword by the blade with his mouth , but by its hold , wrath did the same thing when he lost his two arms, just like Asura
Talk about going out like a man. And even then, he wasn't really Asura's enemy. He was more like a surrogate father stepping in to make sure his son was following his own path and living up to his potential.
This is truly the manliest, most badass boss fight of all time. I would give anything for a true cinematic or good fanimation of this entire fight. I come back to this fight again and again simply bc of how much it gets my heart pounding.
7:38 Asura : ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA Augus : MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA
I just noticed. Augus only used mantra in the most effective way possible, an extension of his attacks. He only started to completely depend on it when he draws his blade. That's how powerful Augus was. My man just used an almighty energy just to fly, and extend attacks.
13:52 I like this scene a lot when augus asks what makes them so different though asura and augus are both monkeys fighting for the sake of it asura has something he’s fighting for and augus just fight because it’s his way at living two very very different people
With better combat (A mixture of Devil May Cry and the way SoulsBorne handles enemies and bosses, maybe), more developed minigames (the sections where you shoot at stuff, etc), and greater interaction between fights and QTE's, this game would be the perfect CyberConnect experience.
Augus is true to his affinity of greed. He craves the greatest fight, he is so greedy and selfish about it. He actually likes asura, but he rather fight the affinity of wrath cause that would be the greatest fight ever for him. That's why he wasn't there to defend asura when deus betrayed him. He wanted asura at his absolute strongest just to fight him like this, he wanted to fight his wrath.
I mean he did mention "You fight for beautiful women, heck you fight with beautifil women". That quote obviously shows you his phylosophy, strength and power at your own hands.A warrior's phylosophy through and true

So..... Just like the Armstrong and Raiden encounter?

My man, thanks for the name of the song.
He seems to be thinking that depending on Mantra too much makes you weak so he fights with his own strength. And he still matched Asura nonetheless.
*Father
"That was one hell of a battle!"

13:20 to 13:22 Literally. Augus was Asura’s Concept design so Augus is literally Asura

MforMovesets *EVEN BETTER* than "Parodius 2".

Jesus christ vs Asura
@@KamiTenchi I mean Asura has killed the literal God of his universe, so... gonna be honest, probably Asura. Not to trigger Christians.

I bet it went like this
Asura:shouldn't we put our pants on first
Augus:ehhhhh lets do it on the way
Asura:fine
There is no way, that the to be continued wasn’t a jojo reference
realizing how much augus influenced asura is crazy
after many years coming back, i now realize that in the end, augus essentially gave full support to asura no matter what, even on opposing ends. he didnt see himself amd asura as the same because he thought asura some mad dog. he thought as much because they were both fully willing to toss away everything and fight. augus merely never needed a reason, and never considered consequences. while asure does find his reasons, in the end, he didnt care about the consequences either. thats cuz he had augus's final words, to walk the path he must.
God that flipping music is just the absolute best battle music. It just fits perfectly
To this day I still love the fact how it starts in the spa then suddenly both Augus and Asura are on the moon without an explanation.
To be honest, big fights like this and Asura vs. Wyzen would fuck Gaea (the planet) up HARD. Augus literally cut the moon in half with _ease,_ so imagine the same thing happening on the planet.

Aside from being epic, enjoyable and memeable, I think everyone remembers this fight because it was in the demo.
Augus is my favorite character in the whole game. Hes a bamf man's man living for the thrill of the fight. He gives off some serious HNK vibes.
With better combat (A mixture of Devil May Cry and the way SoulsBorne handles enemies and bosses, maybe), more developed minigames (the sections where you shoot at stuff, etc), and greater interaction between fights and QTE's, this game would be the perfect CyberConnect experience.
Souls combat is nothing special. A stamina bar is what separates it from the rest.
