Thanks guys, another great video. I’m here in sanur at the moment. My opinion is they didn’t need the mall. It spoils the place a bit for me. But you know what they say about opinions.
Hello, enjoy all your vids, coming back iin Nov. Can u tell me if mercy photo is still there on Jalan Tamblingan? i think it used to be around near where this shopping centre is,.
Thank you for sharing! We went to Living World when we were there in March/April and to me Icon looks a bit like same, same but different 😂 Good to see more shops opening now since opening day. I’ll probably check it out next time we are there…….I’ll use it as a short cut to the beach from Happy Monkey 😜
When you have time try come to visit the bigest Mall in Indonesia is : GRAND INDONESIA MALL at Jakarta ( capital city of Indonesia ) In Jakarta there are alot huge big Mall there ariund 70 big Malls
I had a quick look in June, what I felt is either missing or I didn't find, is an information board or desk showing what shops etc are there and the location on each floor. Staff I asked for info couldn't help or didn't understand my english.
Wow old lady here lol, 63, Went to Bali in 1980 and again 1982 I think by then they had a a small supermaket in Kuta and a KFC. Has things changed. all the best
Another old lady.. though i don't feel like it. I went in 86 and have been dreaming about going back for years. Watching all the videos until I do. But malls are kind of the opposite of my old bali.
We went there today after giving you the cheese. There wasn’t anything to but really - and i also looked at the birks store and walked out again. More expensive than home!! We went to the ramen place for lunch. I had a bento box which was ok. Poor millie had dry ramen and it came with a huge pile of chili! Which she touched and then touched her eye. Oooops!
Hi guys, could see Kim was abit more excited about shopping there, can't blame you Bergs cause it really doesn't appeal to us. Love Sanur and would hate to see it ruined by such a huge shopping mall, we are older Aussies to hate to see this happening in our beautiful Bali, best wishes to you both , love your vlogs Denise and Wayne
As someone who plans to spend several months a year in sanur when we retire I would love you to focus a flog on needing medical care while living there… whether you have insurance and how you sourced that and what your experience was like and costs etc… would love to watch a vid on that if you could guys xx
We are here in Sanur at the moment. A visit to the local gp cost was $50 aud for 2 people (25 each) and walked straight in. Antibiotics were a little expensive but better than being ill.
Here in Tasmania I bought 1L olive oil in Woolworths last week and the absolute cheapest extra virgin oil was $15 but many were $25-$28 for 1L. Australia is getting so expensive.
Gday ..I get that tourists from all over Asia , Australia and the rest of the world will visit it ..but locals ? do they have the coin ? How can they sustain such big modern mall there? What do you guys think ..cheers and thanks for the vlog.
The day we filmed this there were a lot of locals there. The locals (Indonesians in general) aren’t as poor as everyone thinks. There are plenty of wealthy Indonesian people who visit Bali on the weekends 😊
Ha ha ha. Don't underestimate local Indonesians. I am Indonesian and I can afford buying stuff at the mall. Just because a country is poor, it doesn't mean everybody is poor. Vice versa. Look at many US cities , it is supposed to be the wealthiest country on earth, but look at so many homeless people there. 😂😊
Thanks for the ‘ icon review.. possible .. can you suggest Maybe 3 resorts on Sanur to stay.. solo female - middle range - normally stay in Seminyak & Nusa dua .. considering sanur .. big thankyou .. 😊.. Sydney 🇦🇺
I have mixed opinions on this Shopping Centre having been to Bali many times since the the 1990's it looks like it is slowly losing its charm if people want shopping centres like this they should stay at home. Same brands around the world. Samurai what were you thinking. 🤔
@@fredbear72ify You must be blind or stupid or both because if you actually saw the video you would have noticed that most of the people visiting the mall are Indonesian tourists. You think you know the Indonesian market better than the developers? Ha! Big family resorts and shopping malls like this are built for the local tourist market, not foreigners, so get over yourself.
@bergsinbali it was only like that for so long because the land was too expensive to buy, I used to frequent those places when they were bars and restaurants. And walk through to bonzai Cafe on the beach. At least lokals can get underpaid jobs at said mall
Great clip guys
Thanks
You are spot on it does look like a cruise ship I will use it as short cut to the beach

Yep, it wasn’t built for you or me. The Indonesian tourists are loving it 🤩 And better than a derelict block
Thanks for showing us around the ICON i guess Bali is moving with the times and Berg take care Loved this Video Thanks Kim and Berg 🤗🤩
Great to see your vlogs again.Do enjoy them and you do it well. Many thanks.

Yes, it’s right next door to Warung Happy Monkeys, opposite Icon Mall. Enjoy your holiday 🌴
Olive oil is really expensive in Australia right now xxx
Great video, lots to see. All the best with your aftercare Berg.

Blessings on you both a great video lust love having you back
Thank you
Shopping malls are across the world stocked with similar items …. Hence we steer away from them when travelling.
Birks are A$170 on sale here in Oz!
Thanks for the Birks tip!
You are very right 👍 it looks like a cruise ship 🚢 😊

Hmmm yes, you’re correct ✅ Good point!
Dear people, i thought you left making videos about Bali
Great to see you again 👍👋
That was the intention but looks like we must have missed it a bit 🤩

We are planning a new Q&A video. I’ll add your question to the list 👍
We are here in Sanur at the moment. A visit to the local gp cost was $50 aud for 2 people (25 each) and walked straight in. Antibiotics were a little expensive but better than being ill.
@@bergsinbali saw you this morning in a small cafe in Sanur but you had company so didn’t want to interrupt, the pink hair stood out.
@scottc3076 😊 well, hi from us now 👋
Great thank you
Your welcome, thanks for watching
Get well soon after your surgery 🎉x
Thanks!
Love the supermarket disappointment face !
😂 it was a difficult time
Here in Tasmania I bought 1L olive oil in Woolworths last week and the absolute cheapest extra virgin oil was $15 but many were $25-$28 for 1L. Australia is getting so expensive.
So expensive!
Thanks Bergs, interested to see the pricing of sketchers shoes. Cheers.
They’re the same as Australian prices for actual Skechers shoes 👍
Get a spray bottle and pour liquid oil into it and you have spray oil. So much cheaper
That sounds way too simple a solution 🤔😂
Has the shopping centre affected the traffic much?
Not really except for the opening weekend. Then it was bonkers!!
Did you not watch the video?
How much cost for the shoes 👞 in Sketchers 😊
Thanks for watching, they’re about the same as any of the Skechers shops worldwide
@@bergsinbali which is the same thing in Australia are you meaning 🤔
Yes about the same, I just bought some thongs for $70
Amazing how a building that's only a few weeks old looks 10 years old. Obviously rushed to get it open.
Opening was delayed! Mad scramble 😉
The price of olive oil is about $26 a litre in Australia it’s got so expensive
Holy moly! 🫣

Maybe 3 resorts on Sanur to stay.. solo female - middle range - normally stay in Seminyak & Nusa dua .. considering sanur ..
big thankyou .. 😊.. Sydney 🇦🇺
Andaz Bali, Hyatt Regency and Holiday Inn Bali Sanur (my fave choice for price, super clean modern and worthy)
@@CMGSCMGS .. appreciate the reply .. Thankyou 🙂
I moved from Sanur because of this bloody mall. How can a shopping mall become a tourist attraction?
Bc people like shopping 🛍️🤷♀️🌴
The statue on the beach is a Nautilus.
👍👍

Have you considered that the mall may have been built for Indonesian domestic tourists? They love a shopping mall 👍
@bergsinbali They would have to be rich Indonesians. I doubt you would see many Balinese citizens shopping in those stores.
@@fredbear72ify You must be blind or stupid or both because if you actually saw the video you would have noticed that most of the people visiting the mall are Indonesian tourists. What a disaster the great eyesore of sanur
Interesting POV. We see derelict buildings & abandoned lots as more of an eyesore. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder 👍

Kinda agree. I hate modern architecture. I thought they have to build in Balinese architecture in Bali
We love Skechers too. All my thongs are from there.
I know, they’re so comfortable
