I stayed in Sanur for all of March and kept a spreadsheet of beachside dining for two adults, breakfasts and lunches (including the odd beer at lunch) but never dinners as we ate in our hotel room, and everything that we bought from Grand Lucky supermarket. I then cross referenced the beachside dining to comparable meals at beachside locations on Australia's Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, and the Grand Lucky purchases to Woolworths online in Brisbane calculating cost per millilitre or cost per gram etc. (surprisingly almost everything was the same brand name but packaging sizes differed) at the average exchange rate of IDR 10,000 to the AUD and the Sanur prices averaged out at 58.5% of Brisbane's prices - the only thing that cost (slightly) more was a L'oreal shampoo (not mine, I'm bald and spend my shampoo money on beer :). Of course the excessive cost of air fairs, rents and visas etc. now blows those savings out of the water but longer term residents of Bali (I lived there for all of 2021 and half of 2023) may not have realised how much Australia's prices have increased.
Heard that Bali is now off the charts for rentals.
Well done Kim and Berg you couldn't live in Australia for that it is getting very expensive here Thanks for Sharing enjoy the Good Life 🤣😂

Hi guys
Just watched your video. My hubby being an IT person mentioned why doesn't Berg use the Google suite of apps, such as Google sheets as it is free instead of Microsoft excell
Ok thanks, I’m looking into it but I don’t think google sheets has the same controls as excel.
I’ll find out though
Thanks Bergs.great info.
Thank you 🤩
Blessing to you Both love your videos stay safe and most of all have Fun
Thank you!

Youre my hero Berg! I DO LOVE a good Spreadsheet....my current one for this years 2 months stay in Bali is up to 4 pages so far ❤
🤩 glad we can help!
That's the perfect retirement for us, 10 months in Australia and 2 months in Bali. After living in Darwin for 5 years we couldn't go back to tropical heat full time. We love our 4 seasons.
Love you both and your content.
🤩 Thanks 🌟
Thanks so much for sharing. We’re looking to spend a fair bit of time in Bali when I retire and this has been very eye opening 🎉 thanks again
Glad it helped!
That’s a lot cheaper too live than here in Australia. The average shop per week is about $180 and getting worse .You’re definitely in the right place right time .All the best for the future.
We are definitely in the right place for us 🌴
Omg yes! So hot. We were melting with the heat
Well done with your spreadsheet/budget!
It’s a matter of being in control isn’t it 😂😂
😂 every cent!
👍🏼
👍
Love your detailed videos, guys. And I will try the coffee with fritters place ☺
Tootsies! Hope you like it 🤩
@@bergsinbali Thanks :) First thing tomorrow :)
Likely to see you there ☕️🤩
Very informative, how's the new mall coming on?
Saw them working on the front driveway paving a few days ago
That's still a lot of expenses per month, i live with my parents best thing I ever did, it’s al life hack bam!!!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
We’re too old to live with our parents but that’s a good tips for youngsters 👍
Well done guys thats really cheap berg sounds like you was enjoying your drink lol keep up your brilliant work Kim enjoy your ☕
🤩🤩 thanks!
Geeze guys Bali is quite pricey I think for frugal Feb that’s a bit of money if it doesn’t include rent in comparison to Thailand, Bali is more expensive
That’s interesting!
"I didn't have any beauty done this month"
"Obviously"
ahahaha
But Mummy “obviously” did 💖💖💕💕
Very good budget. Even people who are on a pension could live in Bali. (Eating more at home) Is there a Nespresso shop in Sanur or you buy from Nespresso Jakarta?
👍👍
Espresso Jakarta. There are a couple pop-up shops in Kuta, we believe.
Pensioners just need to find somewhere to live & add that to their budgets 😊
You spend in a week what the locals get salary per month
Living the high life
Yes, we live a very comfortable lifestyle 😊
Very informative
Just wondering, normally there is a cheaper life time key to use Microsoft, to be used in Indonesia only?
Also in excel, IDR can be replace with symbol Rp, or no symbol at all.
Keep enjoying life in pulau Dewata, I'm envy with you both
😃 thanks for watching & sharing your info
How goods the Nespreso Kim ? Just started drinking coffee this year at 52 years of age and the coffee pods great
Love it too 🤩
Hi thx for your videos. Can I ask which VPN you use to get Kayo? The one I used last trip didn’t work on Kayo or binge.
For KAYO we use NORD VPN…. We have not been able to access Binge at all 🤷♀️
Live your videos. What is your health insurance? Are you with the public insurance in Bali or a private one? Which company are recommended?
We are with BPJS - local insurance. We don’t have any information about other health insurance companies
Can I ask you guys how you are surviving in Bali on $1300 Aud per month? There is no way you can do this in Australia on a Australian pension which is approximately $ 1240 per fortnight. Are you self funded retirees?
We are not pension aged, not even close! 🤩 However, there are plenty of retirees living in Bali on the oz pension
@@bergsinbali can you elaborate on this and how it can be done
We don’t know HOW the pensioners are living…. They appear to live in villas, homestays etc & enjoy a quiet retirement.
Quick, I have to delete this, my husband will think we should try that on our holiday 😂
Tell him it’s not appropriate to try this on holidays!! 🤣
Is it possible to use free google sheets instead of Excel? (just a question as i have only used sheets for basic stuff)
We wonder if its too basic to allow all the formulas? 🤔
@@bergsinbali google said it does..but that is a question for next year(after this membership expires)...love your content, please keep it up 👍👍
Appreciate your tip! 😊
Might be a dumb question, but do you include alcohol in your eating out budget? Obviously alcohol can be a great expense if you drink a lot
Hey 👋 Alcohol can blow a budget to smithereens!! We don’t have a separate section for it as it’s only a beer or mojito every so often
Not including rent is rather misleading, given its probably your single biggest expense. As for shopping at Popular and Grand Lucky - both are over priced. Most middle or upper class Indos avoid both for that reason (money saavy foreigners as well).Pande Putri or Tiara Dewata are 20% to 30% cheaper, in general (similar product assortment). As for E-Commerce shopping .. Shopee is much more popular than Lazada in Indo. What about Int'l Medical Insurance? If an emergency medical situation in Bali (can't travel), will your Australian medical insurance cover it?
Thank you for watching
But their rent isn’t paid weekly or even monthly, it’s paid years in advance so not relevant in this case.
Wow! That's awesome. I can't believe that's all you spent in a while month. That's what houses cost to rent in Sydney. My husband and I paid 2k AUD for flights over in a few weeks. I can't wait to retire. I only have 25 years to go lol 😆 😂 🤣. Thanks for another great vid guys. Love ya work as always ❤️
Haha!! 25 years… we’ll need to do an update for you closer to that time 🤣
What about your rent¿
As we mentioned, it didn’t include rent bc we’ve already paid our lease… it’s only what we paid in February 😬
Petrol?
If it’s not on one of the lists, we mustn’t have filled up in February 🤷♀️🛵
Got us curious!! It’s there! 95k
Bargain!
