Nothing *absolutely necessary*, but still good lore to help flesh out various aspects and answer some questions you might have.
At the current point in the manga, you could confuse the fact that Louis and Legoshi are not suppose to be about to bang and that Legoshi is suppose to be with Haru, that doesn't change much at all!
As you go lower and lower down the comment section, you can see the different layers, going from very positive, cheerful ones, to semi-positive ones, to neutral ones, and then to hateful ones like "Boo! Zootopia ripoff! Bag CGI! Furry bait!"
The manga honestly has some of the best character writing I've ever seen. It's amazing how relatable the characters are, even if many of their struggles aren't rooted in the human experience. The anime is a fantastic adaptation, as well. I can't wait to see the murder arc come to a conclusion, and I'm really hoping they adapt the entire manga. It's a worthy story to see on screen.

@@officialnoonon I mean, I don’t think a show with anthropomorphic characters automatically makes it a furry thing. There were sooo many shows with these kinda characters but this only became a furry thing since the mid 2010s
@@froufroudeluxe What are you saying...? EVERYTHING antropomorphic is furry, because furries are antromporphic animals! Antropomorphic means "animals with human-like characteristics".
Let me make something clear: Brand New Animal is the anime version of Zootopia. Beastars is the anime version of Zootopia FANFICTION. (not bashing the show, I’m just bringing up the mature elements)
I wonder if it comes to profits if CGI shows like the ones orange makes may have an advantage. My main point is that, after a season 1 they still should have all of the initial character models in 3D and the settings in 3D too. While they still have to program all the animation for the second seasons and beyond, they act like puppeteers with smaller cuts of hand drawn animation for details and B-roll. Comparatively, while layers of 2D animation can be salvaged and reused too, there's probably lot more reason why it isn't... Lip flaps are really easy to draw, the shading doesn't match the scene, just too much time to shuffle through the materials to collect the animation loops in the first place. So 2D animation just has to redraw the characters based off of s character model sheet over and over again. I don't know a lot about 3D animation, but I feel like having 3D models that are set in stone can save costs in production. I wonder if this is actually true and if there's any cost or time saving tricks animators can do.
Paru itagaki is such an amazing mangaka...I recently read her biographical manga called Paru's Grafitti and it is so unfiltered and hillarious. Like everything is there. I recommend reading it if you're interested in knowing how beastars came into life.

THANK YOU for finally saying that people are only calling this a furry anime for clickbait. I’m just a weeb wanting to enjoy some good stories, but any time I even mention this show, I’m called a furry, and it gets pretty annoying tbh.
Yeah. It’s interesting how so many cartoons and anime had anthropomorphic characters in the past and weren’t called furry before, say mid 2010s. It became the popular thing to hate, even though it doesn’t really make sense to dislike characters purely because they’re anthropomorphic
This is the first CGI anime I've watched, it was a little strange at first and sometimes I thought that the mouths of the characters didn't line up with the voices but otherwise I loved it.
Beastars and Land of the Lustrus are really the only CGI anime on the market that is watchable, without turning it off. Full CGi Anime it's still in its infancy and not many exist yet with only 2 being good!

4:22 - Oh For Godsakes... THERE WAS NO NEED FOR THAT SNOOTY, CONDESCENDING CRITIQUE OF THE TONE OF ZOOTOPIA/DISNEY'S "FAMILY FRIENDLY" TENDENCIES!!! Sure, Zootopia comes off a bit heavy handed in it's message, namely that anyone regardless of species, eating habits, lifestyle, etc etc can live together peacefully and become whoever they desire to be in spite of said criterias, but at the end of the day it's a good, entertaining movie. It doesn't _need_ to be crass, or bloody, or even pessimistic to get it's point across and to tell its story. A lot of people like it for what it is. Likewise, Beastars being the series that actively puts its characters into morally conflicting situations that questions/critiques the "goodness" of humanity (or perhaps animality), of course, doesn't _need_ to be tasteful, or pacifying, or even optimistic to get it's point across and to tell its story. A lot of other people like it for what it is. And besides, as far as I can tell, no one forced a gun to your head and _demanded_ that you bow down to the Disney films and proclaim that they are all great as they are, lest you get your brain splattered all over the place. Your life hasn't been destroyed or controlled by their relatively positive messages, and you're still able formulate your own personal opinions on them, good and bad. But at the very least, don't come off like a snooty twat about it. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed your review, and I respect your opinion regardless of whether I agree with you or not.
Honestly enjoy this and the 3d animation. Forcing people to act is already a fun premise, but adding an animal's more powerful instincts makes it that more compelling.
@@catestuff to each their own. while I wasn't the biggest fan of the ending, either I definitely enjoyed the differenence in art style and presentation of the series compared to the anime adaptation. the manga has a grittier feel that the anime doesn't capture. I still need Land of the Lustrous S2, I'm so sad that it seems like Studio Orange isn't trying to pick the series up again for another season. The first season was amazing and the rest of the manga is just WAITING to be animated!
Having read the manga, I'd have to say I'm disappointed with the series as a whole. The first season of the anime covers most of what I felt was more "grounded" in the story (with the issue involving a certain pack of lions aside.) But the story goes completely off the rails a short bit after were the first season leaves off. I don't have much experience with anime/manga, so I don't know if the kinds of topics or story telling is typical to anime/manga. I'm curious if my confusion or objections to the story are issues of cultural differences, cultural story telling, or just the author's skill at writing (it's my understanding the author is relatively new to it.)
I think someone in one of the top comment section threads (I can't remember which one) mentioned that there may have been some editorial interference towards the end, so it might not have ended as Paru originally intended... Also read somewhere she might expand more on the Beastars story in her Beast Complex side stories in the future(definitely recommend checking them out, as Beast Complex shows how she was experimenting with the world-building aspect that would make it's way into Beastars). ^^
I found season 1 decent but then season 2 was disappointing, glad to know that the manga isn’t particularly interesting as well so I don’t waste my time lol
Seeing as no one ever talks about sound design in Anime, I must say, the sound design/ voice acting in this show made it next level for me. The subtle details in the sound effects and the completely natural sounding delivery of the voice acting (in the original dub at least)- was so refreshing. I personally can’t take a show seriously when the sound design is hot dogshit.
Well season 1 is out and it tells like 1 to i think it was 44 chapters. Season 2 is coming in Japan in 2021 and most likely will be the end of the murder arc.
The frustrating part about Beastars. It started good...but in the end it devolved into a fighting manga. Such a shame. But still watch the first season of the anime. I highly enjoyed it. (watched it like 5 times.)
Seriously, someone's gonna get shanked if Land of the Lustrous doesn't get a second season. And a third. Oh and you're getting shanked too if March Comes in Like a Lion doesn't make the cut again next year.
Personally even Beastars didn't impress me with the CG, and that was the same with Houseki no Kuni. In fact, in the latter's case, I was very surprised people were praising it as much as they were, because while it obviously looked much better than the usual CG stuff, I still never thought it really looked good or on par with what I usually see in regular animation. The framerate of movements especially bothers me, it just feels so choppy, and in Beastar's case, the facial expressions got severely toned down compared to the manga, which I felt wasn't great either
Those Surfshark segues were so good... JUST LIKE THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDE. :P Beastars 'Furry' aspect did throw me off a little bit, but I did enjoy the story and its take on humanity.
This is one of the shows where I wouldn't mind not getting a 3rd season tbh. 2nd season should settle the mystery of the death and that will be enough. But if it does get a 3rd season. Great!
Well if it gets season 3 ill be about the baller of a villain that ended the series withs plus seeing that character animated will be fun and wonder who would voice them.

Great review, super glad that you enjoyed it. Be sure to check out the manga if you get the chance as there is plenty of world building that they had to cut out of the anime for time constraints. Nothing *absolutely necessary*, but still good lore to help flesh out various aspects and answer some questions you might have.
"Will our two main characters bang or not?"
You mean Legoshi and Louis, right? They had more sexual tension then Haru for sure XD
I could almost see a threesome being possible........
At the current point in the manga, you could confuse the fact that Louis and Legoshi are not suppose to be about to bang and that Legoshi is suppose to be with Haru, that doesn't change much at all!
@@robertwallen1582 I'm not completely sure of what you're saying. Kano and I are being ironic about their relationships.
@@officialnoonon That tension between Legoshi and Luis grows in the manga is the point the op is right about his post!
@@robertwallen1582 Well, not that I have something against that, but what do you mean exactly?
I just hope the popularity doesn't decrease from people who like the show because of the romance dropping off, there is a very real risk of that happening preventing more season sense you know how the Manga goes! That's my worry!
The fact that so many people don’t want to watch this anime because they automatically put anthropomorphic characters into the same category as furry content makes me so sad
It IS the same category! People are afraid they will like it. That's why I always say: "Don't hate what you don't understand!"
(...you could even come to like it)
@@officialnoonon I mean, I don’t think a show with anthropomorphic characters automatically makes it a furry thing.
@@froufroudeluxe And yes, Zootopia is without a doubt furry
@cak01vej Oh it absolutely is, the author wears a hen mask when out and about. But I don't think that diminishes the story at all.
Your videos deserves views in millions
Let me make something clear:
Brand New Animal is the anime version of Zootopia. Beastars is the anime version of Zootopia FANFICTION.
(not bashing the show, I’m just bringing up the mature elements)
Gotta love that egg laying momma hen
8:40 watch second season and you will understand where you went wrong
The one Netflix Anime i never clicked the "skip intro" button on. Absolutely my favorite anime OP from 2019.
Orange's animation brings one word to my head: 'lively'.
starts at 3:15
I wonder if it comes to profits if CGI shows like the ones orange makes may have an advantage.
Im not sure what to make of it. I felt very awkward, and confused when i got the the sex scenes. Like its freaking wolf and a bunny with human bodies. Not a furry I guess.
Sad I couldn't make the premiere but oh well. I'll hopefully be here for the next one. Thank you for this review, it actually helped clear some stuff I was confused about.
And yeah more ppl should rly watch Land of the Lustrous, also I'm a manga reader and I have to say I'm in desperate need of a sequel cuz the later content of the manga far exceeded my expectations.
so glad that this ended up winning cause it really deserves more attention if you ask me
Don't you mean, "and murder most... fowl"?
Are you gonna be the next SaberSparks...
Saberspark: I’m not a furry
Us the viewer: Buddy we all know where this is going
Can't wait for Season 2 to come out so we can see the resolution of the murder mystery & then future seasons so we can meet all of the other characters from the manga. Was really disappointed at the ending of the manga series TBH, but I'm looking forward to what Itagaki-sensei does next.
Thanks for the quality content man! To get 5 of ur videos done to play in the same week I’d amazing!!!!
Love this series so much!! Every year I look forward to this week
Now this is something I've been waiting for
This is the first CGI anime I've watched, it was a little strange at first and sometimes I thought that the mouths of the characters didn't line up with the voices but otherwise I loved it.
You sure you didn't watch it in English?
Beastars and Land of the Lustrus are really the only CGI anime on the market that is watchable, without turning it off. Full CGi Anime it's still in its infancy and not many exist yet with only 2 being good!
@@robertwallen1582 Yes, we don't want to talk about shows like Arifureta or New Berserk
Lip flaps is common in anime regardless of cgi or not.
Favorite part of the video were the bits from Land of the Lustrous!! One of the less recognized shows that is just amazing.
We're getting a third season at least. Supposedly it's also going to be the final season. I read the manga all the way to the end and I'm just worried about how the show is going to be able to adapt the reason because there is a LOT to cover.
As weird as this series gets, I adore it. It's one of my favorites. :)
Beastars is such a cool show!
The animation is what catched me instantly, and the characters made me end the season in just two days.
The art style and feel of the series is something I haven't seen in any other anime so far.
Can't wait to check out season 2.
I suppose CG Anime has a place in the medium after all!
Just finished Beastars. LOVED THIS ANIME SO MUCH!
Honestly enjoy this and the 3d animation. Forcing people to act is already a fun premise, but adding an animal's more powerful instincts makes it that more compelling.
Glass: will they bang or not
Me: oh i see your a man of culture
This show is such a banger I watched all 2 seasons in a week.
i blame youtube on missing out on your episodes. i legit just thought you were on hiatus due to covid. was not aware you released the last 3 episodes
Finally read the last 6 chapters and now I'm just so sad that this incredible series is over.
Was the whole manga series worth the time? I read on forums that the ending seemed rushed and unsatisfying
@@catestuff to each their own. while I wasn't the biggest fan of the ending, either I definitely enjoyed the differenence in art style and presentation of the series compared to the anime adaptation. the manga has a grittier feel that the anime doesn't capture. If you like reading manga, I'd say go for it. Paru's style is unique and creates an overall enjoyable ride
I avoided this show/manga for so long due to the whole "furry anime" stigma. However, I finally bit the bullet due to my boredom and oh man I'm mad at myself. This show made me truly realize I should not judge a book by its cover. It is such an enjoyable show that I have watched 3 times and have a few volumes coming in the mail soon. Hyped af and wish I didn't turn it down for so long.
Can’t wait for Season 2 next arc is the best arc in the series AND GOD THE OST FOR BEASTARS IS AMAZING great video
Season 1 : Forbidden Love & Sexual deviants
Season 2 : Murder investigation
Season 3 : Cross-species civil rights movement ??
For a show whose premise is if animals acted as humans, I never expected themes like these.
Pretty much
i'm glad you enjoyed this one Arkada :)
I still need Land of the Lustrous S2, I'm so sad that it seems like Studio Orange isn't trying to pick the series up again for another season. The first season was amazing and the rest of the manga is just WAITING to be animated!
So hype for 2nd season
this script was great!! you crushed it :O
For your enjoyment: the English VAs of Jack and Legoshi doing a certain bit...

meanwhile the Zootopia doujins..............
If you watch Beastars then you should watch BNA, Brand New Animal also on Netflix. Askes similar questions but completely different.
In the manga Legoshi does his own investigation to find out who devoured Tem.
i am definately gonna watch this
Watch the ending song as well the song dont change but its like a stage and show what happened in the episode.
I think it was already confirmed that the 2nd season of Bestars will be airing Worldwide in June.
Cool, half a year late.
how much for the pinky?
Oh boy, you better get ready for Season 2.
I’v heard the series is come on Netflix in July but the series will air in January next year
Well season 1 is out and it tells like 1 to i think it was 44 chapters. Season 2 is coming in Japan in 2021 and most likely will be the end of the murder arc.
What??? No, an entire episode is NOT focused on the hen. It's just the intro to a single episode.
4:57 I don't think pedantic is the word you were looking for. Maybe dismissive?
The frustrating part about Beastars. It started good...but in the end it devolved into a fighting manga. Such a shame. But still watch the first season of the anime. I highly enjoyed it. (watched it like 5 times.)
Seriously, someone's gonna get shanked if Land of the Lustrous doesn't get a second season. And a third.
Oh and you're getting shanked too if March Comes in Like a Lion doesn't make the cut again next year.
any other good CGI aside from Beastars and Lustrous?
Arifureta and the new Berserk .
(I'm kidding btw)
Dorohedoro?
Thanks for the review 👏🙏🙏
Personally even Beastars didn't impress me with the CG, and that was the same with Houseki no Kuni. In fact, in the latter's case, I was very surprised people were praising it as much as they were, because while it obviously looked much better than the usual CG stuff, I still never thought it really looked good or on par with what I usually see in regular animation. The framerate of movements especially bothers me, it just feels so choppy, and in Beastar's case, the facial expressions got severely toned down compared to the manga, which I felt wasn't great either
Will Legosi and Haru bang?
The manga just ended, so go check that out.
arent there suppose to be around 5 review in the review week of awesome
Those Surfshark segues were so good... JUST LIKE THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDE. :P
Beastars 'Furry' aspect did throw me off a little bit, but I did enjoy the story and its take on humanity.
This show was a breath of fresh air.
Studio Orange is SOOOOO close to cracking the CG code. It's still not consistently great but it's so close to being that.
i may not have missed the last videos but i do miss the red coat/suit/uniform
The mystery is not the focus oh boy s2 is going to be a fun one 😎😎😎
Also the manga I have been reading it's a solid 7 out of 10 for me
This is one of the shows where I wouldn't mind not getting a 3rd season tbh. 2nd season should settle the mystery of the death and that will be enough. But if it does get a 3rd season. Great!
Well if it gets season 3 ill be about the baller of a villain that ended the series withs plus seeing that character animated will be fun and wonder who would voice them.
Dude Beastars _IS_ in a Shonen magazine, sooo...
