I have been using one these sprayers for over a year now and I have had some interesting experience with it. This includes clogging of the spray nozzle and shutting down of the pump i.e. it stops spraying. I have learnt to reset the pump when this happens. I am also very careful of the viscosity of the liquids I place in the sprayer. I even went out and bought a finer strainer and use it as an addendum to the strainer that comes with the sprayer. Overall, it has been a learning experience for me. Amazon sent me a new one when I was having problems earlier this year. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet. I am keeping it though.

I just got this exact sprayer! Ordered from Lowe’s for $419, arrived Friday. The YardMastery 4g backpack sprayer is $325, so it was not a huge difference all things considered.
I bought the chapin 2-sprayer boom from amazon like you did. Plus I got a TeeJet pressure regulator (not yet installed). The idea is to add recirculation in the tank, and maintain the boom nozzles at a constant pressure. Oh, and I got some air-induction TeeJet nozzles for the bio-stimulants.
My lawn is about 8k square foot. Reason I got the Chapin is that I got tired of the ortho dial-and-spray plugging up. The ortho is a great concept but doesn’t work well for bio-stimulants (clogs often). It takes forever to do 8k using a 32 oz reservoir. I do have some K1 hose-end sprayers which are better than the ortho. They get the product out faster/farther, but they have the same 32 oz limitation as the ortho. I hate dragging the hose and refilling the containers multiple times no matter if using the ortho or a K1. Plus the quick-connect always seems to leak during the application.

Thank you for the comment. Those upgrades that you made sound like something I need to do to mine. I'm not too thrilled about the boom I ordered. I need to look into more options like you did. Great info thank you!

Just a heads up based on my experience with it. You have to be very careful of the viscosity of the liquids you use in it. Ensure that is it properly strained or it will cause the spray tips to become clogged and cause the sprayer to stop spraying. You have to reset the pump when this happens. You reset the pump be spraying water in the hose that attaches to the bottom. Sometimes though you have remove the top of the pump and reset the valve. That is a hassle

Did you have to buy any adapter for the boom to attach to the sprayer? I ordered one and it seems the threading on the boom is slightly off and not sure if I need to buy an adapter with different threading or was sent the wrong piece. Do you mind linking what you bought on amazon?

Great question and I had the same problem. I ended up using pipe tape and it helped a lot but it does come off if I over tighten. I can link it in my video.

which boom did you use for this and how did you connect it to the elbow barb that comes with the sprayer? All the booms i can find have a male on the end and the supplied barb is also a male thread?

The boom was from chapin on Amazon. It was a threaded piece that went to the original single nozzle. Idk if I like it or not yet thought.

I have a flowzone 4g at the moment and on the fence about this. Where did you buy this from? And where did you buy the switch?

I bought both the unit and the switch on Amazon. If I did it again I would get it through DoMyOwn.com but only cause Amazon can have some weird stuff but it was through the chapin store and the customer service was amazing.

I appreciate this video! I have a Greenworks 4 gallon backpack sprayer - no complaints about its operation, however, it leaks, and I'm messy to begin with and HATE refilling, remeasuring. I'm sloppy and not good at rounding, I'm in Texas, which means my eyeballs are sweating - you get the picture. If I fill my tank to near 4 gall - guess what? I get liquid down my back, into my drawers - not a pretty picture - so obviously that rules out weed control with it - only the organics. I probably won't buy this tomorrow - but it is good to know it exists! It would be a gamechanger for me.

Yes exactly! The re measuring and everything just takes time right. I feel you with the sweat too haha. The leak down the back always happens too right? Yes it would be a game changer for sure I think you would love it.

    How's the battery life

Great question. I can easily do my whole lawn at 8,500sq’ and it hasn’t even gone down 1 bar on the battery. I would say I could do 30,000sq’ + on one battery
