Ingredients (cup size: 200ml)
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups of natural yogurt (340g)
- 1 1/2 cup of sugar (240g)
- 3/4 cup cooking oil (150ml)
- 2 tablespoons of pineapple flavored gelatin powder (25g)
- 3 cups of wheat flour (300g)
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder (14g)
- 1/2 cup of pineapple juice (100ml)
- 1 pineapple
Caramel syrup
- 2 cups of sugar (320g)
- 1 cup of water (200ml)

Look delicious . Over here in UK we called this cake 🎂 upside-down pineapple cake and usually we put cherry 🍒 in the middle of the hole of pineapple 🍍

If I made this cake I would mix dessicated coconut into the cake batter, pineapple and coconut are my favourite

Pineapple upside down cake has been popular in the US for years‼️ We typically add maraschino cherries to the open rings and baked the topping in the pan with the batter and invert while warm. Pecan halves also make a nice add on in the open spaces with the fruit. Thank you I’ll try your recipe to compare as I’ve never used yogurt in mine.🌎🇺🇸💗

It has! And you know I hadn’t tried it until a couple years ago, (I’m 60🙈). because I had the ingredients on hand. It is really Good! And simple. Really simple, for the results.
I will try itwith sour cream not yogurt
In a cast iron skillet
I use brown sugar and melted butter for the bottom layer, also the maraschino cherries, and when fully baked and inverted, serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
Was my favorite cake to make as a kid with my mom. You missing the maraschino cherries 🍒 though
Next time don't add water to the sugar mixture, instead use some of the pineapple syrup the pineapple comes in........you'll love the result
And brown sugar in place of regular sugar

You can skip the first step. Sprinkle even layer brown sugar top of pinapple. Melts nicely into a caramel when baked

Pineapple upside-down cake looks very charming.
Reminds me of a very simple pear ginger cake I make from a William Simona recipe book I have. It makes the entire house smell like ginger. Everybody really likes the cake.

It's a very beautiful cake, it's an amazing recipe, it looks very delicious, I liked your cake very much so I'll try it although I make a similar cake with apples and pine apples but I use brown sugar with butter for the base of the cake.
