Ingredients and recipe:
4-5 apples
I grew these apples myself
2 eggs
100g sugar
100 ml milk
60 ml vegetable oil
200 g flour
5 g baking powder
vanillin
1-2 tsp icing sugar
Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes at 180 ° C

YES!!!!!!!!! I've been making this cake since I was about 11, but when asked about it, I couldn't explain because the internet apparently didn't know what a "Charlotte" cake was. I guess translations and names are tricky 😂.

Flip this cake! It’s gorgeous! I added cinnamon, nutmeg and walnuts and used vanilla extract instead of vanillin. When it was done, I brushed the top (apple side up) with butter and garnished with a little sugar. It’s amazing!
What is vanillin? Is it powdered vanilla??

What size springform pan is used?
Make sure you do not add the eg whites at the beginning. Keep them separate and beat them separately. Spoon them in with the flower at the end and do not mix!!! Just do it with a large spoon. Trust me.
My grandpa used to make this cake when I was little. The only difference is he used apple sauce instead of oil and flipped it as an upside down cake. Thank you for sharing this!

Baked this cake for my family tonight. Very easy, simple and delicious!! I coated the sliced apple with some extra sugar and cinnamon before I baked. I will definitely bake this recipe again and again:)

I made this recipe. It’s excellent. Took me 30 minutes from start to putting in oven. It’s a cross between a cake and a bread. I peeled the apples, my family prefers that. I used Gala apples. Tried it with Granny Smith, and it was too tart, too wet.
Do you have to use that type of pan?
Is it 5 g each of baking soda AND vanillin… or just 5 grams of baking soda and a pinch of vanillin(btw is vanillin it’s own thing or does it mean vanilla…?)
@@Cubs-Den-Reactions in Germany Vanilin is used, not vanilla extract.lt is vanilla aromated suguar. It coms in small sachets so no need for further masurements.

@@pamelah6431 Coconut oil is 90% saturated fat which is higher than in butter, beef fat or lard. It raises bad cholesterol which can lead to risks of heart diseases. Use poly or mono unsaturated oils which are healthier like canola, rapeseed, corn or sunflower oils. Olive oil is a bit too strong for baking but is very good for you.

I am going to try this with coconut oil, brown sugar, and whole wheat flour instead because that's all I have right now. I will add a lot of cinnamon! Let's see how it turns out! Update: I made this cake and it turned out amazing even with my different ingredients. The only thing I would change is next time I would add even more cinnamon, and also I would chop the apples much more finely/beautifully
Just made this cake, swapped milk for oat milk (as I didn't have dairy milk on hand) and used a dash of vanilla essence instead of vanillin.
I also did a sprinkle of raw sugar over the top after it had finished baking (before cooling) to give it a little crunch at the top and sweet it up a little more without the icing sugar.
Turned out wonderful.
I recommend leaving the cake in the tin until cooled so it keeps its shape, and then flipping it if you've laid the apple slices nicely at the bottom before baking - then add the raw sugar on top of that (just won't melt a little)

Yes, it takes 3 minutes to chop, 10 to get the ingredients measured, 5 to mix as directed, hope you start the oven at the beginning, then 35-40 minutes to bake, some period to cool, then 3 minutes to sprinkle on sugar. That's about an hour and I don't get an hour to bake everyday... Is there a magic time portal for baking if you learn German? ...because if there is, I'll do that if that's part of what you get.

This is my go-to recipe when I have guests, and everyone always loves it, and asks for a second slice . I changed it slightly, and I believe my version also tastes great. Here are the changes: I mix apples with cinnamon, and I prefer sour apples over the sweet ones. Sweet-sour taste of apples with cinnamon add depth to its taste. I also use powdered sugar for a smoother texture, and 125gr butter instead of oil. I melt the butter beforehand. Guten Appetit! ❤️
