Andrew, I'm asking your professional opinion here as well. The hand at 33:00, dont you think the villain makes the same bet with the same hand, KQ as well?
I've lost count of how often I have got it in good then get sucked out on to bust out today! On a massive run bad, so it really helps to watch this and realise it happens to everyone sooner or later.
It was a rigged pokerstars. How often you see that kind cards run in live tournaments? AJ vs. KK and AJ got 2 pairs and then KK got flush with the rivercard. :D That is a silly joke.
@@marykuusk198 just played a home game yesterday at my friends place, he had a pair of Queens on the flop, I had a flush draw and a pair of 5, go all in, he gets a second pair on the turn...then I am like ok I am done....then another 5 comes out on the river! So fuck off these things never happen in live because they do happen!
i actually don't like the jam with AT at 1:19:00. I mean seems SUPER nitty to check back, but what are we trying to get called by? Only worse two pairs i guess, but don't know if there are too many in villains range. Correct me if I am wrong! Villain rarely shows up with an A since we have the As so I think lex runs into a flush there quite often?! Then again lex is 10x better then me so maybe i have this all wrong
T7, 57, A5, A7, KT all 100% play this way, and that is offsuit combos as well. Remember playing vs the bb is very different because of how wide the ranges are. He is going to call w plenty of hands like 56o that call flop and fold later. Some hands must call down all the way. Plenty of hands that can and must call here. He can also have AJ/A9/A8 w spade kicker that are good herocalls. Often flushes or straights get raised as well.
@@gwg97 yeah I realise his range is very wide, but I don't see bb calling 75 or T7 on the river. Also we have the A in spades so villain probably does not have too many Ax hands on the river. But you are right still lots of two pairs that might call. I don't hate the play as much as I did when writing the comment
Do not know how you take a beat like that so calmly, and in such a big spot in such a big torniment.I know it was an all in pre but dam..What Do you do to get rid of that gross enegery.i would have to smash somthing.... your the man Lex
If you're interested, there's a very good book that I would recommend; "The Mental Game of Poker" by Jared Tendler. You can use this book to help you understand how to control your emotions better in high pressure situations.
So feel that one. Sooo feel it. Obv w 20/20 so many times it seems slowing down pre and playing flop avoids the runner runner spots more often. Flip side is max equity. So brutal
Cameron Chambers in that spot....100000000% happy to call it off. Fun hand to trap with as well. Literally could feel Lex’s pain as the board ran out. So brutal in the spot
Sorry about that Q9 hand Lex, Flopped the nut straight 3 4 5 rainbow with 67off in the BB, guy hit a lower straight 2s6s and went runner runner spade to win a huge pot.
At 12:40 i knew some1 was gonna see this and post something. He flops top pair, has 10,jc... like, ne club,8,7,Q,K on the turn and its easy to continue. And he folds to a less than half pot bet on the flop with 300k effective.. idk man
Lex, results aside, what do you think about shoving on the last hand rather than inducing. What I mean is that you probably get called by most weaker aces but you fold out hands that have 40% equity. I get from a chipEV perspective you don't want to fold those out, but from am ICM perspective it seems like surviving is more valuable than the potential for doubling up.
41:55 isn't checking here gonna accomplish the same things but get all his bluffs to bluff? Most people are value betting qq+ here. You may get called by 1010/99 that 3bet, though that's unlikely given position and 3bet pre. You can C/R QQ-AA most likely. + get them to bluff ax I reckon
Hey does the "new meta" with calling on the flop out of position and then leading on the turn so that the preflop c-bettor doesn't check back transfer conceptually to cash?? Thoughts?
Not the actual buy-in, but the quality of the players that play them and so yes you do have to adjust accordingly to the level of players you're playing against. You have to choose your spots more carefully vs top players otherwise they will own you, compared to a weaker field which you can exploit a lot of them.
The only thing I'd say is...due to some excitement....do you think you gave off any timing tells from playing too fast? I do it too so it isn't meant as a critique but more of a question ya know?
That happens to me 80% of the time on Pokerstars, and has been going on for months. but I won't give up as my biggest cash has been on Pokerstars. great vlog Lex enjoyed it
What a nasty end ! I know you can be good in poker but that was so dumb ! Q-9 suited with 1 spades on the flop and here we go all-in in one of the biggest poker online tournament... poker tilt me sooooooooooo HARD
Lex been watching you with admiration a long time, but very disappointed when you bolster the position of Poker gentry when they come out with statements like, "More rake is better". Doug Polk was only trying to stand up for the little guy and we badly need it as anyone who has ever tried to beat the rake at the smaller stakes will attest to.
If I ever had this opportunity to play in this tournament and this happened to me, the table would be flipped and pc smashed up. But that’s just me, lex you screaming inside but cool af on the outside. Keep up the great poker and you’ll ship it next year
exactly, man. Lex is pretty much Pokerstars employee. most likely he gets those buy-ins credited as a part of being their poker room promoter. i mean what would you rather choose as a player - steady but limited salary per month or numerous buy-ins (say tournaments tickets worth of 10k$ per month)? on the other hand look at him even 5 years ago. he aged so much, he admitted his mental and body health are far from being perfect (as for the guy of his age). that what those countless hours grinding do to you, all those bad beats, suck outs, endless stress. does it really worth it? to me he looks like an addict and online poker is his drug of choice.
Q9s plays so well as a limp-call BvB and is often crushed when called against your 3b jam... It's a pretty bad jam most of the time so I guess he balanced it out and chose to do it this time, which didnt work out in your favour... unlucky man, nice run and well played throughout the whole tourney.
Yeah poker sometimes is shit.... I lost hu vs Kevin McPhee AQs vs A8o 5bet shove pf 70bb in 215$ mtt....almost folded AQ vs 5bet, but he was uber aggro.... Board cames QJxT9.... Sad story cost me 10k at the moment 😂
how he have no blufff. man a chipleader. and when you show the chipleader your weak holding he betting.. HE VALUE BET WITH K AND J OF SPADE. BUT IM PRETTY SURE LEX FOLD THE BEST HAND...

theres so many fun players at your table... in a 5k tourny.... honestly i think fun players dont play 5k tournys and ur just crazy thinking every 1 is a fun player lol
