    I don't have a pool, just wanted to compliment you on putting together an exceptional video. Many shots, always clear, and well planned. What confuses me is with as many subs as you have, the views, likes, and comments are minuscule. Must be very frustrating. Many like you are in the same boat. Not sure the cause. Anyway, great video.

    The 2020 season is beginning and my Dolphin Triton is still going strong! No complaints. The bright yellow is beginning to fade a bit, but it's still working great after a year. I highly recommend it. I am an Amazon affiliate so please click these links to buy (I'll make a few bucks, but it doesn't cost you anything more.).

    I bought the Dohenys Mercury version of that robot. Love it. Pool is nearly maintenance free.

    Excellent review... I just got dipped at the store for an M600... Nice bot and all... But when I went over the features and discovered the power supply isn't in the least bit water proof... I realized that having half those features, if I was going to be putting this unit in the shed nightly, were pointless.
    I bought this model, the Triton, and I am much happier with the price of this unit ( yes I got the caddy and cover too!)

    Cool pool vac. I use to help maintain my parents pool in the house I grew up in. Our pool had vacuum that had a hose that plugged into the wall of the pool. It was driven off the pool pump. Anyway great video and even better dad joke about the filters. Lol!

    I also am replacing a failing Polaris 9450, and for the same reasons found the Triton PS plus. Thanks for the video, this confirmed my decision to go with the triton.

    When we had a pool with a robotic cleaner they hadn't come out with the electric type yet. We had a Polaris 3 wheel with a 3 foot tail and it was powered by an extra jet pump. They also didn't stock a super fine mesh bag so I improvised and used my mother's old pantyhose. I found it was cheaper to buy a pack of knee highs instead of special ordering a fine filter bag. It wasn't worth it to me it was only used for spring clean up as our pool didn't have one of those fancy spring tensioned covers. We Nick named the pool cleaner the Wooley Booger. The things we remember from childhood. I actually enjoyed hand vacuuming the pool during the summer learning ths t only dead algea stays inside a sand filter and live algea does not. I wonder why? More slippery perhaps?

    I just bought the Triton PS, it is very cool to watch. My only issue is that it did not completely clean the bottom of the pool, I could tell from the clean streak marks it left; maybe since it was it's first time in the pool and has not "learned" it yet. I will keep trying while I am in the return window from Amazon.

    I have a similar Dolphin cleaner, the S300i. I don't use the extra features that are disabled on your model (Bluetooth, short cycles, etc), so I'm guessing you won't miss them. I do like the extra fine filters though - they catch fine dirt that would probably end up in the pool filter...but they are slightly more work to clean. I use a high pressure nozzle on the end of my hose to clean them and it can cause splash back and get you wet...so maybe that's a downside to those. Don't leave the robot in the pool/sun for too many days in a row...I've found the cable plastic will start breaking down slightly...though mine will be 3 years old in a month...not sure how long I had it before I ever noticed it doing that...maybe it took a year or two. I'll keep your model in mind when mine bites the dust.

      I agree! I’ve already noticed my cable getting sticky.

    great review. I'm in the market right now as my Dolphin SX3S motor is no longer working. I took it to the dealer and they said it would run about two hundred dollar less than simply buying a new unit. I have also replaced the power unit because of a power surge, on top of the fact that I really don't like this unit or its performance compared to the older Dolphin units I have had or worked with in the past. I too don't like the bottom filter cartridge because it has scratched the top, plus it is a low quality design. I will do an extensive review before I list it on Craigslist for parts.

    • @handydadtv
      @handydadtv  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it's a shame that things are made to be disposable rather than repairable. I really like this unit though.

    • @jmackinjersey1
      @jmackinjersey1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@handydadtv , It isn't that it is more disposable than reusable/repairable, it is the fact that the motor alone costs more than $200, let alone the actual cost of over $260. I don't mind paying for the labor, but come on, that is ridiculous.
