just checking in with an update: I got a J58WS last fall from a local, and the Primaloft midlayers are so underrated. I find myself using the jacket almost daily, more frequently than my pants. Im super jealous of the detachable hood.
Great jacket would definitely be interested in picking one up in the future! might be too warm for san diego though. Can you still layer the jacket over hoodies after sizing down?
I would say I can't layer a hoodie under the jacket after sizing down! Since this is an insulating jacket, I think it's suppose to be worn with only a next-to-skin layer (tee, thermal, etc) under as well as a shell over the jacket! If you wanted to layer a hoodie then I think maybe going TTS would be better!
It would probably be too tight. I would say it might even be too big to fit underneath! I have seen acronym wear it as a liner in some fits, but I think it works better as a standalone.
Man, i love a black jacket, but I felt like the RAF green and the grey were too good. If I had the option, i would grab the grey, but I grabbed the green because it was heavily discounted compared to the grey.
Hey Agga! I believe that it is one of the only insulated removable hoods. I'm not too knowledgable about releases pre-2019 so I could be wrong. Also, I just saw your vid about the upcoming season and I agree that having multiple hoods to purchase would be fire.
Hey sorry about the late reply! I have used it as a “shell” alternative and it has done well for water repellency. I do have a bit of a skewed environment as I am in norther California where there is rain, but rarely heavy storms/snow.
good review. you hit the points about the sizing and the collar on their head, and how it looks better than the previous version thanks to looking less shiny and flimsy. definitely try it on in store if you can cause the sizing is weird. also I read somewhere that having the PL layer get compressed for long periods of time will wear it and lessen its effectiveness, so dunno if the hood is meant to be bunched up like that. I dont wear mine nearly as much as I should though, maybe you can do a review after wearing it regularly for a month or 6 months and let us know how it holds up? that would be cool.
Thanks for checking the video out! I'll give it an update if anything changes since I'll be 100% be wearing this frequently. I haven't noticed anything substantial so far and I've been wearing it around 3-4 times a week. In terms of the hood, yeah I think it might just be better to have it either buttoned on or put away in a bag or left at home. It is a bit more bulky for it to be packed away.
Hey Matthew! So I haven't been in prolonged rains with the hood. I have been in intermittent showers for ~10 minutes. The rain and wind was relatively strong, but nothing soaked through luckily! I do think that it might not be as rainproof when compared to a shell ofcourse!
Glad you’re posting a ton again. P.S. you are handsome
Thank you booboo. I will try and get more stuff out consistently

Yeeee absolutely The J58 is such a lowkey jacket.
Hitting us with the persona 5 soundtrack at the end- is this a thisisantwon reference ?
I was thinking the same thing! Sounds like the same music he uses!
Yup. Trying to be apart of the AEU (Antwon Expanded Universe). Also persona 3,4,and 5 music is just a vibe.
Perfection

Great video! But can this work as a liner for a "slim fit" acronym pieces? E.g. j1a-gt

I fell in love with this jacket but can’t decide between the colors 😂 the black is obv most versatile but omg the raf green and grey look AMAZING

@@FashionForwardAlways I think the J95 I'll cop in black, and look for a J97 in grey. Such a nice color that grey
Nice! I think it's cool it has an insulated removable hood. Think that is a unique feature in Acronym, correct me if I'm wrong.

Been wondering about the utility of it as an insulator to a shell. Do you have anything to add about that?

Very nice jacket!
Thank you!

Looking good and yeah sizing on Acronyms are a bit weird, I'm usually a size L on other Brands, for Acronym I'm a size M.
Thanks for checking out the video! Yeah i think sizing has been changing lately since some of their tops fit really long sometimes.
@@FashionForwardAlways ikr 😄
The karate chop edit this in made me lol
heheheh :^)
can i ask how rainproof the 2layer windstopper is? does the hood wet-out after some time in the rain?
