I never saw him when he was with marvelous 3 but I saw a couple of his solo shows in Chicago the first time around I'm going to say 2002 or 2003 opening for a great Texas band called fastball. By the time his set was over I almost forgot the main band was playing. Seriously. What a great talent and true musician
