I went home with the waitress, the way I always do - one of the secret dreams of every lonesome guy sittin!` in the coffeeshop down the street, right? There`s only one person, who makes a song about it, right? The one and only and unforgotten W.Z. Thanks for posting.
I was there that night. The room held only a few dozen people, tops. No more than one or two of those artists were on the bill - I forget which - but they all started coming down, one after the other, to play short sets in various combinations. It's a cliche, but seeing that many artists of that stature in that setting was one in a million.
That must have been great! I saw a bunch of great shows there, and took guitar lessons there upstairs as well. I miss McCabes! I wish they would release more videos of the whole show from that night! Oh well at least there are these two!
This is great stuff. Zevon was a true artist. Every live performance he did was unique. His last appearance on Letterman really got to me. Dave had a true love and respect for great musicians and Warren was surely at the top of his list.
Love this song and performance. RIP Mr Zevon and thanks for sharing your talent. You are not forgotten by this sixty year old Aussie! Perhaps I'm just an excitable boy!😉
You can really see the Hunter S. Thompson influence in this song. My favorite Warren Zevon story is him as a 13 year old knocking on Igor Stravinsky's door to request a music lesson.
What strikes me is how good a guitarist Warren is & also the amazing overtones created by two guitarists playing in-tune & simultaneously & how this went on to influence T-Bone's productions of future recordings, like Neil Young's 'Le Noise.'
no way I am smart enough to decide on the best of his songs, any one of a hundred of them told a thousand tales of my life rip John you are missed aww crap you made me look at things that I didnt wanna
Lyrics that speak of many lives such as my own. Call it back door relevance perhaps. We do this song at our fund raising concerts every year. RIP Zevon!!
Fantastic (because Awesome was already used!) Thanks so much for posting. I should have been paying more attention lo those many years ago, though it was undoubtedly invitation only!
This was the song my wife of 60 years used as our code for when I got into serious situations , and she preferred guns was an expert shooter, knew lawyers and and made. Great money. Damn I miss her thanks for the link ♾️🪖

Who in their right mind could give that a thumbs down? That is AWESOME on a 12 string.
Warren, we miss you terribly.
A truly classic song....just three chords and a whole lotta truth....
Three chord wonders are the heart of rock n roll
Isn’t that a classic Springsteen line?
Wow! Would I love to have been there that night. I really miss Warren Zevon!
As a veteran I have been there when the shit hit the fan. Warrem Zevon turned the shit into one of my favorite songs.
Warron Zevon, is quite possibly the best song writer that their ever will be.
Wouldn’t argue with that. Political guy as well.
This has always been one of my favorite Warren tunes. This is such a great version. "The shit has hit the fan"
warren zevon and elvis costello, what a night
He's missed by myself and others who feel his music in our souls. Rip
with you man. WZ was brilliant
I discovered him a year ago what a gem 💎
Epic song, epic version by an epic songwriter/musician. And look how happy T Bone is playing it…
What a unique songwriter with such bent twists and turns in his songs. Kept in my heart for more than a while....
This is great stuff. Zevon was a true artist. Every live performance he did was unique. His last appearance on Letterman really got to me. Dave had a true love and respect for great musicians and Warren was surely at the top of his list.
Well stated.
Best version of this song ever 🤘👍🤘👍🤘👍🤘
Nice! Never heard it played on a twelve string acoustic before. A real classic! Zevon was truly an original artist. His music will live forever.
Sit back and enjoy one of the true greats just unleash it without a problem.
Just superb
Thank you for this what an awesome version of the song!
I miss Warren every day of the week.
Two of the greatest of the great, right there!!!
Love this song and performance.
RIP Mr Zevon and thanks for sharing your talent.
You are not forgotten by this sixty year old Aussie!
Perhaps I'm just an excitable boy!😉
Hell I’m 71 and I’m still rocking out to his music 🤘🤘🤘
You can really see the Hunter S. Thompson influence in this song.
My favorite Warren Zevon story is him as a 13 year old knocking on Igor Stravinsky's door to request a music lesson.
What? Zevon was his own man and I guarantee Thompson never entered his mind while writing this song
Hunter s Thompson educate me
Gatsby called it correct. Zevon was unique in all the world. They broke bread together many years later, but this is Zevon 100 percent.
Same here
Ever noticed that when it hits the fan it sprays sll over the lower ranks first?
Warren Zevon RIP
A great songwriter with a great voice.
What strikes me is how good a guitarist Warren is & also the amazing overtones created by two guitarists playing in-tune & simultaneously & how this went on to influence T-Bone's productions of future recordings, like Neil Young's 'Le Noise.'
Daniel Lanois produced "Le Noise". T-Bone has never produced a Neil Young record.
no way I am smart enough to decide on the best of his songs, any one of a hundred of them told a thousand tales of my life rip John you are missed aww crap you made me look at things that I didnt wanna
That's a very happy Warren. Thanks for uploading. This one's a gem.
This is fricking great.
Zevon was a great guitarist. such a complete musician.
Thanks for posting this Wayne!
What a wonderful version!
Lyrics that speak of many lives such as my own. Call it back door relevance perhaps. We do this song at our fund raising concerts every year. RIP Zevon!!
Seems fitting in 2024🎉
What an amazing combination of talent.
Definitely one of my all time favorite songs! ❤
Had a few drinks with him in Setgis Spain in 1975/76 in the Dubliners bar. Happy days
Absolutely my favorite version of that song.
That was awesome Wayne, it's your World.
EXCELLENT!!!
God, I wish I could have been there.
Outstanding! Thanks for sharing.
Sorry I missed that show!
Love this version!
There's a lot of "best" songwriters, but along with John Prine, Randy Newman and Loudon Wainwright III, Zevon is certainly one of the funniest.
What a great share. Thanks so much.
It's hard to say which Warren song is my favorite, as his lyrics are funny, sick & smart...just how I like it! This may be the one!
That’s quite a list of of performers in the description above. Holy moly.
Warren Zevon, the real GOAT
T bones back up was awesome warren a class act rip
EPIC!
T Bone looks like Neil Finn
3 drunk people accidentally hit the thumbs down button
Thanks!!! Miss Warren!!
Legend stuff👏
Do yourself a favor and explore Warren's vaste song list, he was one of the great song writers . Damn i miss him. Cancer sucks
I never knew my hero hung out with my fellow FW 80s hairdo…but a real treat.
Sadly never got to see Warren but did get to see T-bone live.
I played it completely different.....now i see the right way
I wish I had been there
Fantastic (because Awesome was already used!) Thanks so much for posting. I should have been paying more attention lo those many years ago, though it was undoubtedly invitation only!
Thank you Wayne!

Love 💕 and miss the greatest White singer of all time W Z
Man do I miss Warren!
I really wish Warren had done an album with T-Bone.
Miss you Warren. R.I.P.
When I was in school in Bogota playing backgammon with the son of the commander of the Air Force …
Love it
man o man woah!
WOW
The shit has hit the fan…
John Doe, playing an X classic, written by Dave Alvin, while he plays a Thin line Tele... It doesn't get much better than that. 💯❤️🇱🇷
Please post more from this show ---- would love to see some Lindley performances. David is reportedly quite ill and not able to gig.
Lawyers..Drugs..n..Money !!!
This was the song my wife of 60 years used as our code for when I got into serious situations , and she preferred guns was an expert shooter, knew lawyers and and made. Great money. Damn I miss her thanks for the link ♾️🪖
SO SO good.
epic
In an interview after he'd been diagnosed with lung(?) cancer, he was asked if he'd stopped smoking, typically he said why stop now? He had a point 😅
I like it better starting with D..but always a great tune in any key
There used to be an even better clip of Warren playing a black 12-string but it seems to have disappeared.
Innocent bystander 👥️👤👥️
TBB looks like CH´s Neil Finn;)
Warren “song noir” Zevon
What ee said...
"dad, get me out of this"
Speak for yoself.
The Ballad of Donald Trump ?
"Vlad, get me out of this!" 🤣
WSMFP
