- Sting backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra gave a fine performance of Englishman In New York in the heart of NYC for The Early Show on 7/15/2010. One of four songs he played that morning.

To Chris Ward: Why does Sting have to destroy the whole aspect of being a *REAL Englishman* by putting on that Caribbean accent in his voice, which does not fit the narrative? Could he not save it for another song written just for them -- some Calypso or something?

I went to see his 1988 world tour in Tokyo Dome. That was one of the best concerts I had ever attended. Kenny, Branford, Delmar Brown, Mino Cinelu.. Some of them are not with us anymore.. but I can see as if it was just yesterday.
His voice is still strong and elegant here. One of the best voices in the whole pop music history. It reminds me that concert there they performed Englishman in New York 35 years ago. I get emotional..
